A classic often said to be the best JRPG ever - and it's actually pretty good. A storyline which could only be developed and narrated in the 90s, OKish battle system, awesome graphics for the time.

Basically a video game meme as an actual video game. Highly fun, cool battle mechanics, but the anime clichee is strong with this one - but on purpose, so it's OK.

FF IX is a throwback to the older titles of the series, but does not only live from this nostalgia. It's an excellent game, quite easily the best of the PSX titles, with awesome characters and design.
