\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tFirst of all, if you are expecting to see Tiamat’s feet or interact with them, unfortunately that won’t happen beyond a couple sexy text lines. Beyond that, here lies a visual novel that took me by surprise in so many positive ways, there is absolutely nothing negative I can say about Lucy. Every little detail in the novel has been given equal love, to end up with a very solid and singular VN experience.
The screen is big and the art is really, really nice. You can play in a big screen monitor or TV and the quality wouldn’t drop. The sprites are almost alive, moving from side to side, changing expressions and they even have their own “boobie” physics. The writing is lovely too, sexy when it has to be, funny, sweet or even epic the rest of the time always at the right moments. Kizumonogatari had a full page where Araragi was describing Hanekawa’s underwear, in this one, Lucy spends what would fill one or two of these daydreaming about Tiamat’s.
The game features an astounding soundtrack, every piece is beautiful, and each one of them serves a narrative purpose, just like they know where to change the tone in the text regarding the situation, the music is always helping that purpose and going beyond, by far from just fulfilling it’s narrative purpose, enhancing it even further both when it has to be epic, peaceful, or just incredibly beautiful. I can’t praise enough the superb, magnificent musical pieces Lucy is packed with.
Something worth to mention about the sound is, just like two of the greatest novels, such as Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night -added latter in Realta Nua, expect in the sexual escenes for obvious reasons-, it doesn’t have any voice acting. Having seen the exceptional quality and ambitious level of detail in Lucy, I couldn’t say if this was due to limitations of time/resources or just a narrative decision. It might be a bit of a letdown in the sexual escenes, but a few factors compensate for this little detail. First, the art is prettier and sexiest than the regular eroge we’re used to, the writing is lovely and it’s quality compensates the lack of voicing, and finally, you won’t have to worry about anyone home hearing fishy moanings coming out of your room ^^
Now, as for the game “mechanics”, it’s based on choices as any regular visual novel, there is so many it might be confusing at first, but thanks to the skip button only working with already read text, you can skip everything you already read and know when something is new. The game has plenty of save slots to make one at each decision. And something not usually seen in visual novels, you can check the gallery from the save menu without quitting to the main menu. While you can reach the endings missing certain scenes while watching others -not related to the main plot, but really tasty-, these will compliment the plot holes so you can understand both the story and each of the characters past and motivations.
The game has plenty of CGs, not all of them are explicit but they’re so beautiful you’ll forget about that part, still, don’t worry since most of them are, in fact, happy sex between beautiful women enjoying their sacred spots until the waterfall of love washes everything away, or just plain sexy CGs with slips, clothes eating slimes, or suspicious ****fishes, this one will especially please anyone who likes girls who have a big, hard secret gift down there~ Be aware this won’t be a real one, since this is a female only novel, where beautiful girls will drown in the most “purest” of pleasures.
So if you liked what you read, go get the game already, and if not, just give it a chance because I probably failed at convey how great and amazing everything about Lucy is.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
