I'd give it an 8 out of 10. The "arg" or "community offgame" puzzles honestly hurt the experience.
These are mixed in with normal gameplay , and aren't meant to be figured out in game. But there's no distinction of which are which.
I kept coming back to some chests that I couldn't figure out how to get, only to find out you scan the screen like a barcode or do some ridiculous convoluted series of actions. BUT these are alongside the normal exploration puzzles. In a genre where you are usually aiming for 100%, having these unfinished puzzles sprinkled around drove me nuts.

Collecting the 4 items is clear, and the challenges are pretty clear. If the game stopped there I would give it a thumbs up. The issue is it doesn't, it continues to reveal in its own obscurity. You are expected to back track over and over and over to places, never fully knowing if the newest item you obtained is the key, if it was just a puzzle you didn't solve, or if there are more items yet needed to unlock.
Even after getting to the credits and getting every item for my inventory, I then learn from a friend that there are more items I don't have yet and they are what's stopping me on some puzzles.

Which is definitely fun in itself and also very well designed, but I've lost steam trying to hunt down the last few egg secrets, so ultimately I'm stopping before going for full game completion. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI've been wanting to play this for quite some time now. A damn fine game. Incredibly atmospheric. Beautiful to look at with it's unique art direction. An interesting take on a more exploration and puzzle-focused "metroidvania" as there's no real direct combat whatsoever. About the only thing I might dock a point for is the audio mostly just there... fitting, ambient, but you won't likely remember any of it.
It's pretty cool how once you "beat the game" what you're really doing is opening up the capability of getting to a TON of new places with more puzzles and more secrets. And then there's secrets on secrets, and a whole ARG aspect...

I'm not really into ARG type stuff so I just looked up a video to see how that went, but if you used no direct help this game could theoretically take dozens of hours to fully solve. Its biggest appeal, at least at face value, is the unique art design that is dark yet somehow cozy. It's also a competent puzzle-focused platformer that rewards exploration and experimentation, and has some nice puzzles. However...
It's certainly not the best metroidvania game on the market, as the depth of gameplay and challange is more shallow than other metroidvanias in the market. It also has no lore, and the animal theme is underutilized. Sure there are animals in multiple places, but for the most part they are eitehr background, or the interaction with them is quite shallow. This makes the masterful art design and sound design a wasted opportunity, as it is so narratively shallow that the environment doesn't even feel like an actual place some of the time.
So why is this game so highly praised? It's because it does a very good job catering to a very niche audience. The base game is a pretty short 6 hour experience in which you explore a beautiful but underdeveloped world in search of 4 flames. When you are done, that's when the real game starts. There's arguably more game in the endgame stage than there is in the base game experience, and it's all about uncovering increasingly obscure secrets, many of which are so obscure the creator didn't even think most people will find them. It starts with the hunt for 64 eggs, which requires you to go through the whole map meticulously to find every hidden egg chest, then continues with a hunt for 14 bunnies, which are so well hidden you'll be surprised that there are as many as 14 of them. Some of these puzzles cannot be solved without participation among multiple gamers, and the clues themselves are so obscure that only a collaborative effort of a horde of gamers has a chance of discovering them. Then after you're done with that, there is another layer of even more obscure puzzles, so obscure the creator didn't even expect anyone to solve them. For most people this is insane and tedious, but for a specific kind of person, the kind of person who enjoys meticulously examining details and theory crafting at conspiracy theory level of insanity: for those people it's the game they always wanted but never got. Those are the people responsible for thie overwhelmingly positive score of the game.
