It honestly sucks to see what PUBG has become.
Cheaters and hackers are still everywhere. You run into obvious wallhacks, aimbots, suspicious players, and somehow this has been a problem for years. Bugs, crashes, bad optimization, desync and random issues keep coming back, but instead of seriously improving the game, it feels like most of the effort goes into new skins, crates, passes and other ways to get players to spend money.

They sided with an Korean streamer just to revoke the partner status of two professional players, Himass and Tanvuu. PUBG is still an enjoyable game. I cannot recommend it because of how KRAFTON handled Himass and TanVuu at PUBG Asia Stars 2026.
For international players: Asia Stars was a showmatch featuring streamers and professional players. Participants were encouraged to add a delay to their broadcasts, with those who streamed without one bearing the risk. Stream sniping had also been treated casually in past events. If KRAFTON intended to enforce a strict ban on using other participants’ streams, it needed to make that rule and its consequences unmistakably clear before play began.
Most importantly, this is more than a claim made after the controversy. Livestream footage from a Team Vietnam participant records someone asking event staff whether stream sniping was allowed and receiving an audible answer that it was. KRAFTON now says it never *officially* gave that permission. That distinction does not erase the guidance the participants heard during the event. KRAFTON owes everyone a direct explanation of who gave that answer and why.
I am also deeply troubled by the apologies Himass and TanVuu were pushed to publish, including in Korean. From my perspective, KRAFTON asked the players to apologize amid confusion its own event staff helped create, then treated those apologies as admissions while imposing a permanent ban. That feels deeply unfair.
KRAFTON’s later statement opens with an apology for its own failures, but spends much of its time declaring the two players in violation and announcing that their game accounts and eligibility for official PUBG esports are permanently revoked. To me, that reads like an apology followed by the harshest possible punishment for the players, while the organizers’ own responsibility remains unresolved.
Himass and TanVuu are accomplished, widely respected PUBG professionals. Their status does not put them above fair-play rules. It does mean a punishment that ends their PUBG careers must be backed by clear rules, consistent enforcement, and full accountability from the people who ran the event. I have not seen that accountability here.
