I've never written a steam review before because I never feel like I have much to say that other people haven't already said, but I saw how few reviews this game has and I wanted to make sure I said how much I loved it. I did a lot manually at first and then I realized that I could streamline things significantly, so I did, because I wanted the satisfaction of having finished the story--but I'm planning to come back and play slower whenever I need something soothing and satisfying. There is more of a story than you would expect, but the core of the game really is just "repair these files." Highly recommend.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

As someone with a strong proclivity for both incremental games AND wiki editing, this concept feels like it was wrenched directly from my brain. This game delivers on that concept very well! The small morsels of old web exploration and forum posts are fun even if they aren't really part of the gameplay. The fictional game that the wiki surrounds is very well thought out, too. The story was a little generic, and it felt like the plot escalated extremely quickly (maybe my fault; see below), but it was executed so well in tandem with the medium that I still enjoyed it. I'll be thinking about this game for a while, and probably peck away at True Janitor from time to time.

My first run-through only took two hours to sort the entire wiki, which was greatly rocketed forward by the discovery of something so powerful it felt like an exploit. I'll spoiler it, because it might knock the joy out of trash-clearing for some players:
Once you upgrade multiselect to ridiculous numbers, you can take advantage of PlacementCheck to indiscriminately select whole pages of items and jam them into a category folder. The folder will only accept correct items out of the bunch, which is 1/7 of them on average, so each time you do this two-input combo of CTRL+A > Click&Drag it'll correctly sort about 30 items. I just realized this would've gone even quicker if I changed the icon size from 2x to 1x. I don't know if this was an intentional strategy, but the fact that multi-select can upgrade its capacity so far beyond 20 suggests that it was intended. Either way, it's a fun interaction of upgrades that I felt smart for discovering.
If you may peep my achievement progress, you'll see that my trash cleared progress went from 25% to 100% over the span of SIX MINUTES!!! This isn't really even something I disliked, it just interested me enough to recount in detail.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
\n\n\t\t\t\tAs someone with a strong proclivity for both incremental games AND wiki editing, this concept feels like it was wrenched directly from my brain. This game delivers on that concept very well! The small morsels of old web exploration and forum posts are fun even if they aren't really part of the gameplay. The fictional game that the wiki surrounds is very well thought out, too. The story was a little generic, and it felt like the plot escalated extremely quickly (maybe my fault; see below), but it was executed so well in tandem with the medium that I still enjoyed it. I'll be thinking about this game for a while, and probably peck away at True Janitor from time to time.

Reminds me of old internet communities and forums. I appreciate all the detail that went into it and all of the little sprites for the items that were created- truly overwhelming to think about. But this game was great! I'm surprised more of these games don't have multiple levels of organization--it makes so much sense and opens up new possibilities for upgrades. The story was cute and did just enough to not overstay its welcome in a game that usually wouldn't really need much of a story.

I love the character writing and as someone who has been on the internet since the early 2000's you hit the nail on the head in terms of nostalgia and the final edits you make genuinely made me tear up so thank you for an amazing experience and I highly recommend this game to anyone that has a couple free hours and a few bucks to spare!

I found it randomly on a YouTube short and was immediately intrigued. It was only £3.50ish so I bought it without hesitation. Almost all of my worries got wrapped up in just a few upgrades and while I think there could be potentially more upgrades in more variations, I thought it was a perfectly suitable incremental game. I loved the lore and meta references, there where a few that truly made me giggle (KEEEEEEEEETTTLEEEEEEBUUUUUURRRRRRN!!!) and I am looking forward to seeing what the dev does with their MMO styled game if they do follow through with the idea to make it fully fledged.
