clone<br><br>Cons:<br>- Forced prestige every 5 LY but even with this playtime dragging move game is way too short (how SRB is $2.99 base price and still offers more playtime than this game). Can't preview prestige upgrade tree nor see how much points you'll get on prestige, due to the point of prestige being dragging on the game not actually offer a prestige layer<br>- Stage transition is unnecessarily long, they'd have felt it if the devs played their own game<br>- Overreliance on anomalies in later half of the game is extremely underwhelming and uninteresting<br>\t\t\t\t\t<div iterations on the nodebuster-like incremental game. The particle visuals are very pretty, the generous and random magnification of your resources feels good, and the overall skills you unlock have enough room for skill and knowledge expression to accelerate faster without feeling punishing or halting.<br><br>I appreciated that while there was a prestige mechanic, it was more of a formality instead of cyclic resets. I think I only prestiged 3 times, and each time you prestige you can easily unlock the ability to save more and more of your progress until you lose absolutely nothing. <br><br>I appreciate the lack of prestige loops, though I do wonder if you could just cut the prestige system and move that content into the skill tree proper, adding more endless nodes throughout the somewhat linear progression The fundamental gravity well, rock smashing gameplay is good and while the upgrades are mostly not that interesting (just more explosions generally or effectively stat boosts, don't change how you play or anything at all) they're fine and satisfying to get still. <br><br>What's new and interesting is actually the mechanisms for unlocking upgrades - the ore depositing systems that provide your money, the unique upgrades from what passes for bosses, and the Vault are all compelling and a bit different from what you normally get in an incremental. <br><br>Overall a healthy 8/10, worth $5. incremental games, for two reasons. First, the asteroid smashing game is a lot more entertaining than whatever minigame most other incremental games have as their theme (I like it a lot better than the minigame in Space Rock Breaker, for example). Second, the atmosphere. Most levels have some sort of derelict space station or spaceship in the background. But you only get glimpses at it through the pulsating red nebula. The music nicely complements these seemingly abandoned megastructures in deep space. That said, all incremental games use the same formula, and this one is no different: play the minigame, progress in a research tree, repeat until you win. scratching quite a few itches I have for incremental games. Progress feels meaningful and genuine, every step forward (and even the steps backwards) feel like they're contributing to a greater purpose, they don't ever really feel like filler.<br><br>This game nails the pseudo-3D bitcrunched aesthetic, it has a visual identity that I find perfect for the gameplay. A bit of color variety (like new color theming as you travel further out) would be nice, but red suits things well enough that I could take or leave the idea.<br><br>SPOILER FOR THE ENDING:<br><span class=\"bb_spoiler\"><span> I only have one gripe with this game, which is the significantly underwhelming and vague ending.
