Maybe for folks better at remembering these things this will be a non-issue, but the solving puzzles for order on the shelves is interesting the first couple colors of potions you do, and then it's just. Tedious. You'd need *a lot* more puzzles to keep it from getting stale, or to split it up into smaller rooms with a couple puzzles per room. With the giant selection of shelves, there'll be a few you can get into a groove and pop on the shelves, but others, you're going to be opening your solutions again and again to remember just what order the horrible little frogs go in. This also is probably a non-issue if you're using the spells, but if you're not? It's work.

A lot of them are very similar and they are all pretty easy but I like the mechanic. The problem is that once you finish them you have to repeat them over and over again. The whole game involves either checking your finished puzzle list repeatedly or walking back and forth between the shelves to copy what you have. It ruins any kind of relaxation that these sorting games usually give me.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

However, the puzzles get stale after your second color set, and the lack of QoL features makes this a not recommend. There's a few things that would get it to be a positive recommend:
1. Magic to assemble potions in hand or on the shelf according to the puzzle solution once the puzzle is already solved.
2. More puzzle variety / less reuse.
3. A popup on screen of the puzzle solution when you're looking at a potion belonging to that puzzle instead of having to open the menu to see it.
Minor pieces: add upgrades that auto-reveal the potions that require an interaction, and differentiate the weather / element labels more clearly. Reward upgrades more frequently, especially at the beginning.

As a person deep in the "sorting game" genre, I enjoyed myself. You always go into these things trying to figure out if it's a cash grab on a hot topic in gaming right now or something genuine, and I am firmly in category two for this one. They clearly (and outspokenly) took their notes from Arcane Library, but wanted a few unique spins, and I think they succeeded with that. The puzzle aspect DOES at something to first time player, I didn't expect that to be in the game and when I realized what was going on, I was delighted. I think it was smart to NOT run that thread throughout the game. It allows you to let puzzles control the game as much as you like. Once I had all the puzzles down, it became it's own unique sorting game in that now the challenge was less sorting (the potions and shelves are SO clear from one another... not so much the case with Arcane, where the items have a more muted tone to one another, though still different) and MORE "can you come up with ways to learn the puzzles by heart, so as to not need to constantly reference using the multiple tools they give you to do so?". And BOY was it satisfying once I could solve every shelf by heart! Love when a game provides that.

I see they've added a "disable magical abilities" control in the options, but if you're going to make an achievement about NOT using magic abilities, the game needs to make it MUCH clearer that YOU ARE GIVEN THE ABILITIES AUTOMATICALLY. I was unaware of this (as the game doesn't make it super clear) and trying to do my first playthrough without using any abilities, then accidentally hit the "1" key ONCE while reaching for "tab" and that was that. Achievement ruined. Had to do an entire separate playthrough without abilities just to get the achievement. My suggestion would be A. DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK THE ABILITIES IF YOU'RE GONNA HAVE THAT ACHIEVEMENT DEVS. or B. Have the game auto-pause with an explanation that they auto-turn on, and now would be a good time to disable them in the option menu if desired.

The only puzzle i had a hard time with was the flower puzzle, could not understand it one bit, but you have cats that can help you solve the puzzle without it costing you achievements which is very nice!
10/10 would let the cats throw the potions on the floor again!
