The game is now there, but can we just talk for a minute about how every single HoMM game's title in my Steam library uses different capitalization and symbols?? Can we just decide on one uniform look please???
At this point, I only bought this copy of the game to be able to play the Horn of the Abyss mod on Steam, which actually includes the HD mod that makes this 1999-ass game run normally on modern systems, adds a significant chunk of new content, quality of life fixes, and a myriad of interesting new mechanics. I'm hopeful for the Workshop content on HotA as well. Instant high tier recommendation for HotA, it's free if you own this license, so go play that instead. OR BETTER YET, just go buy this on GOG and own it permanently with no DRM whatsoever.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

there was an issue at launch where, and i am not joking, ubisoft straight up forgot to upload the game files to steam, but it's fixed now.
shame there isn't any steamworks integration, but eh, at least we finally have the original on the platform. as for steamworks stuff... hota is on steam as well, as a mod for this game, and even has workshop support.
