\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThe game’s recommended settings for my rig are basically everything maxed, ray tracing on, 4K, and DLSS Quality. The result? Around 53–64 FPS in the campaign during the beta. Switching to DLSS Performance gets me up to roughly 89–92 FPS. Yes this is on a beast of a rig and previous COD game got much better performance even in the betas I played so there is no excuse for this in MW4.
The game is simply very poorly optimized right now. It practically requires Dynamic Frame Generation to reach the kind of framerates you’d expect, and plenty of people with 5080s and below are reporting even worse results.
And within minutes of playing multiplayer, people are already encountering aimbots and other cheats left and right.
I have encountered bodies disappearing in front of you, glitches where your own grenades constantly explode at checkpoints causing you to have to reload the entire mission, broken textures etc tec.
Between the poor optimization and the cheating problem, I cannot recommend the game in its current state. Hopefully the developers address both before release but given track record for the last few COD games I don't hold out hope.

The gunplay feels great, the matches are fun, and overall I immediately got that classic Call of Duty feeling that makes you constantly think: “Okay, just one more game.” For a beta, I’d honestly give it a solid 10/10 so far.
Now all that’s left is hoping the full release can maintain this level and maybe even get better. I am a little worried about the server issues, though...

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI like the music, setting, and atmosphere of this MW. I heard someone say it looks like a baby of MW2019 and MWII, and I totally agree with that. The game's fun to play and is definitely an upgrade over the recent CoD titles. But, this beta has a few things that has me rating it no more than 7/10. Some of these things are bugs/glitches while others are more general things about the game. I'll list the bugs first:
1. Sometimes, footsteps seem like they're coming from the wrong direction.
2. Throwing a grenade while you're already ADS switches the underhand/overhand setting. I feel like if I already have RMB pressed-in, it shouldn't do that. Very frustrating the next time you use a grenade and it turns into an underhand throw.
3. Setting the minimap rotation to fixed glitches out the map to the point you can only see player positions and no outlines of the map itself.
Now onto the more fundamental things about this game:
1. I hope there will be more guns and attachments added to the game upon release. The gun choice is quite minimal for now. I figured this would be the case for the beta, but I still want to mention it just in case they intend on releasing it like this.
2. I hate how the operator is attached to the class so I have to change my operator in every single class, and then change it again for every new class I make thereafter.
3. Idk about the American or European servers, but the Asian/Middle Eastern servers are reporting around 60-70ms ping. That's far better than some previous titles, but if I have a gigabit fiber connection with 7ms loaded ping, I feel like I deserve to play with a ping in the 20s and 30s at the very highest.
4. The TTK is really high. It takes unrealistically long to kill an enemy. There's a reason I always play hardcore, but the core multiplayer in this game has a ridiculously long TTK. Though, the headshot multiplier I believe is on point.
Major performance "bug"/"issue":
I've never used AMD Frame Generation before but since I'm on a dated 2080 Mobile Q-Max GPU, I figured I'd try it. In the telemetry, it reports a 20-30 fps bump which sounds amazing, but if you look at CPU and GPU times, they're in the 16-17s range, which turns out to be more like 60 FPS. Without Frame Generation, my FPS is around 80-90 fps.
The problem here is that, one, idk why the CPU/GPU times report a time much higher than the estimated resultant FPS and, two, with Frame Generation on, mouse movement feels like somebody's tugging at my screen with a rope. It just feels slow even though the FPS is reportedly respectable. I thought I was going crazy or that I just had to get used to the new "weighty" feeling of the game. Nope. Turned off AFG and the game immediately became far "smoother-feeling".
One feature I really want to praise - being able to see what region's servers you're joining. Please keep this in.
Lastly, about the feel of the game:
1. The guns sound...okay. They don't sound terrible, but they're just not that crisp.
2. It's not loud enough. Both the voice chat and the game sound a bit low. I made sure it wasn't my PC settings.

For the first time in years, we've got a great Call of Duty game. After a long hiatus, Infinity Ward has unveiled a new flagship entry in the series.
The beta turned out to be simply excellent:
+ Optimization. On my mid-range rig, I was getting 150 FPS without FrameGen at 1440p on "competitive" settings.
+ Campaign. Only the first chapter is available so far, but I'm genuinely glad we're finally returning to the gritty reality of combat, leaving Makarov and Shepherd's storyline in the past. It's time to move forward.
+ Multiplayer. All the maps and modes shown so far are perfectly fine by me. They're easy to memorize, yet not so brain-dead that you can just run around holding down LMB.
+ Movement. Scrapping the omnimovement we saw in BO6 was a smart call. They didn't remove it entirely—just trimmed it down to the essentials.
+ Realistic skins. Honestly, this alone would make me forgive almost anything. Finally, grounded, realistic skins. It's clear that, at least at this stage, the devs have kept their word. I really hope we won't see any Diablo or South Park collaborations for at least the first few seasons.
As for the downsides, here's what I've noticed so far:
– Everything was fine yesterday, but starting from the 22nd, I occasionally get kicked from matches. It doesn't happen often—roughly once every 20 games—but it does happen.

It definitely has that certain feel and charm of MW2019 at heart, which is a good sign, and an overall step away from what BO6/BO7 was. I enjoy the gunplay, and the sound design scratches a satisfying itch. At this time, i don't feel like i can inherently 'dislike' what MW4 presents itself as. The preview of the campaign is very promising and I can see this story/campaign being much better this time around. Some gameplay tweaks are certainly needed, but that's what the point of an early open beta is, is to listen and adapt. There is no such thing as "broken Aim Assist" or "bad pc controls" or ect, its called not being ♥♥♥♥ at a FPS lmao and these people say they play on pc?!(i wish i can add a skull and crying face emoji) Its fun, super fun if you are act into the franchise (their better stuff) they removed omni movement so any uncs complaining about broken sliding or diving needs to work on hand eye coordination. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tProfoundly miserable to play. The game is incredibly unbalanced. Everyone flies around the map with either the ISO Nightshade SMG or the M4 AR. Basically no one uses anything else as those two are so overpowered.
The beta maps are bad, they're all really small and games are chaotic clusterf**ks. Hopefully the bigger maps and ground war is better but at this point I don't have confidence in Infinity Ward/Activision.
UAV uptime is 100% and Ghost (the only perk that counters UAVs) isn't available in the beta. So everyone knows where you are at all times and you'll get pre-aimed constantly. With how fast TTK is, if you turn a corner and they are already ADS and looking at you, you lose. There's basically nothing you can do.
The other killstreaks are a problem too. The attack chopper is stupid overpowered and the moment its called in the match is basically ruined. It is way too hard to kill and on the tiny maps, you can't move anywhere without immediately getting melted from the sky.
The artillery beacon is also a problem. Once again, with how small the maps are it basically locks down a third to a half of the map. People also love to spawn trap a team and then throw one of these in, just to make sure they ruin the game as much as possible for everyone else.
The game is way too fast. I know a lot of people are like "its slower than BO6/BO7!" but only barely. CoD as a whole is comprised of multiple smaller groups of players who like different things. In the past, this is one purpose the different studios served, they could make games in different styles for those different groups of fans. Unfortunately it seems they forgot that movement demons aren't the only group of CoD fans that exist. MW3(to a large degree)/BO6/BO7 were made for that group. MW4 was supposed to be the first game in a long time for the other groups such as more casual players or players that prefer a slightly slower CoD. But NOPE, RUG PULL! IT'S ALSO FOR THE MOVEMENT DEMONS. This is where a lot of the divide is coming from in community discussion and why you'll see people saying "Best game ever" and "Unplayable dogs**t" right next to each other. They're both CoD fans but they want profoundly different games. MW4 was supposed to be a slower game, their own marketing focused on a more grounded tactical game, its not that. To no ones surprise they lied to us again. CoD has completely neglected a large portion of their audience. I didn't play BO6/BO7 as omni-movement was a cancer and I was excited to finally have a CoD game made for me again, a more casual player so I could come back to the series. - Forced BIOS updates and TPM 2.0 enablement in modern gaming is a choice of all time
- Not only do you not get overly helpful feedback for why you can't play multiplayer, but you need to download an attestation program to check that you are in compliance with secure boot and TPM 2.0. This is a video game, not my Form 1040
Multiplayer
- Mouse and keyboard feels horrible
- Performance is abysmal, with frame drops, low FPS, the full milkshake of poorly optimized PC play
- TTK feels like RNG simulator, flipping a coin to determine who wins a gunfight
- Nonsensical explosions coming from everywhere on poorly designed maps. The Rooftop map is the least enjoyable along with the Asian town map in a close second
- Don't be fooled by the trailer videos, this game is Ukraine UAV simulator with army issue camping tents issued to all soldiers. Not an enjoyable experience. If you are trying to unwind after a day of work, good luck.
Campaign
- Meh at best. I am not sure why we switched from a traditional campaign to "shove the US Army's level 4 plate supply into your carrier" sim.
- There is a distinct lack of feedback on enemy hits who are also just Warzone AI enemies.
Overall
- Can't recommend on PC. Poor optimization, lackluster graphics, poorly designed maps, RNG TTK, They need to drop this direction of the series, take time off to actually create a well designed game, or just let it die at this point. The 2 CoDs I ignored (stopped playing multi quite early) are MW19 and Cold War.
Unfortunately (for me), MW4 feels like a mix between these two.
If you liked them, I'd recommend for you to give MW4 a try, this is probably worth it for you.
Otherwise it feels like a big regression compared to the last ones with the removal of the omnimovement.
Omni was nice especially for MnK players as more mobility gives you a bit more chance to evade the unexpected (or the aim assist for that matter).
In MW4 it feels like they wanted to keep some fast moves (slides and dives are quite fast) but "at the same time" the ADS is super slow and you turn into a 90y old gran'ma as soon as you start aiming, not to mention the visibility is terrible (on PC, 4K), just like it was in Cold War. Pretty sure you could get some good results w. a LMG in the back of the maps (would that be fun tho ?).
I will stick to BO7 for the next season, even if season 5 was a pretty bad update that hurt the player pool, I'd rather wait a bit more to join a lobby than playing MW4, too many things wrong imho.
