Every year it costs €69.99/€79.99 and it's literally the same thing with four tweaks and the same old problems.
I was really looking forward to the campaign and DMZ, but honestly, after playing the private and public betas, the multiplayer is garbage and unplayable.
I'm going to wait until the price drops to 80% or more to play the Campaign and the DMZ because it's not worth €90 just for that, only to get frustrated in the DMZ because it's full of cheaters, major bugs, or even if they implement MMR in the DMZ...
I'm glad this game is also doing poorly, and the closed beta was a real failure. I should add that most people who participated in the closed beta did so because Discord gave out codes if you had a €9.99 Discord Nitro subscription... Imagine how bad things must be for them to promote it like that. It means far fewer pre-orders and that the game isn't a top seller anywhere.

Switching to DLSS Performance gets me up to roughly 89–92 FPS. Yes this is on a beast of a rig and previous COD game got much better performance even in the betas I played so there is no excuse for this in MW4.
The game is simply very poorly optimized right now. It practically requires Dynamic Frame Generation to reach the kind of framerates you’d expect, and plenty of people with 5080s and below are reporting even worse results.
And within minutes of playing multiplayer, people are already encountering aimbots and other cheats left and right.
I have encountered bodies disappearing in front of you, glitches where your own grenades constantly explode at checkpoints causing you to have to reload the entire mission, broken textures etc tec.
Between the poor optimization and the cheating problem, I cannot recommend the game in its current state. Hopefully the developers address both before release but given track record for the last few COD games I don't hold out hope.

They buffed aim assist and removed omni-movement, which added another layer of skill expression to the game. They also added ammunition that reduces your mobility by a quarter when you’re shot. The game has garbage visibility and excessive screen shake when firing a gun of any caliber. Spawn points are also inconsistent.
The only noticeable step up with Infinity Ward is the sound design, which has noticeably improved (although most people run Ninja). Footsteps are now very easy to distinguish & pin-point.
Sadly, the arcade-shooter genre is stale, and those who enjoy it are forced to pull out their wallets and buy this garbage every year because no decent alternatives exist.
I'm sure casuals may enjoy this game more as the skill-expression is more limited now (AA can also play the game for them) and SBMM is there to save them.

This series was unironically better when I was being called a tub of lard and being told as a 6yr old that everybody in the lobby had sexual intercourse with my mother. Modern Snorefare 4 is a game that feels made solely by special ed children at a make a wish. Let's talk about why. Firstly, you CANT sprint because by the time you press the button you will have more holes in you than a Vietnamese hooker. You die way too fast and have 0 movement options to combat it. ADS speeds, sprint to fire speeds, movement speed, strafe speed, all movement options move slower than my grandmother who has no legs. Secondly, you can't see a thing. The entire color palette was made by artists with only 3 color options. Grey, Green, and black. All of the colors feel like I am in a depressive episode after my wife took my 2 children and takes half of my paycheck. Next up, we have maps that were clearly made by 4yr olds with a crayon and told to outline walls and objects to make a map for an upcoming billion dollar franchises next game. Then we have attachments that you let's you gain 15% ads speed but have to lose your car, house, and have your entire bloodline poisoned by a deadly toxin. They increased the aim assist up from BO7 to pre BO7 to mw19 days so even my great grandfather can gun my ♥♥♥♥ if he aims in my general direction and uses his 1 working thumb. I play on 13 master volume and I can hear enemy footsteps from one side of the map to the other I would go as far as saying that a deaf lady with no hearing aids could hear me coming. The visual recoil makes you feel as if you are a newborn baby holding the M4. Did I mention my specs? I CAN ONLY RUN THIS GAME AT A CONSTANT 150FPS ON MINIMAL GRAPHICS LMAO!! I mean I can go on and on but these are just the first things that come to mind. Even my friends who enjoy the lower skill cods like mw19 and mw2022 don't like this game so WHO DOES THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME APPEAL TO??? Please refund this if you can and do not play this. I really wish they would add CDL mode immediately, even if it’s only a beta version with restricted rules. At least then we could have a fair and enjoyable experience while the pros and developers continue tweaking the rules.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI have to be honest, I’m really impressed with the beta so far. The multiplayer finally feels like what I want from a Call of Duty game again. I haven’t had this much fun with a Call of Duty multiplayer since MW1 (2019).
The gunplay feels great, the matches are fun, and overall I immediately got that classic Call of Duty feeling that makes you constantly think: “Okay, just one more game.” For a beta, I’d honestly give it a solid 10/10 so far.
Now all that’s left is hoping the full release can maintain this level and maybe even get better. I am a little worried about the server issues, though...

At this point, just remove the crosshair and let aim assist play the game. M&K vs controller feels less like PvP and more like volunteering for target practice. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tRight, so the closed beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 just dropped, and honestly… it’s properly disappointed me. Fair enough, I’m not getting the crashes loads of people are even with TPM 2.0, Secure Boot and the latest BIOS, but still. The game’s the same old thing it’s always been. They dropped the old consoles, promised proper new graphics - and yeah, there’s something there, but not really. It’s the exact same game with a fresh coat of paint and one new map that could’ve just been a DLC or free season. Instead they’re charging full price for what basically feels like the old game in a new wrapper.
Multiplayer’s a mess - constant network drops, crashes left right and centre. FPS? All over the place. On my fairly beefy PC (specs below) it won’t push past 100 FPS on a tiny map. Is that a joke? It’s smooth enough, sure, but on a 240 Hz monitor it’s absolute rubbish. Even dropping to medium settings changes nothing.
The only bits I actually liked - and the old-school CoD lot will probably slate me for this - are the lobby and the character-switch animations. Ghost looks proper cool, and those “Best Player” animations are genuinely nice. That’s literally the only good thing in the whole beta for me.
What’ll it be like at full release? No idea. They could turn it around quick since this is just a closed beta for people who already bought the game… or they could do absolutely nothing. I honestly hoped someone would finally make a modern warfare multiplayer that felt good again. Same story with Battlefield 6, same story here. Hope’s properly gone. We’ll see what happens when it actually launches.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
