One excellent feature is that TDC setting results are overlaid on the plotting table display. As a bonus, it avoids activities such as crew management and running around your sub to attack. Unfortunately, this is an unsafe coding principle and is always severely lacking in oversight.
Further to that, the game simply does not do anything that other games have not already done. It is, in effect, an arcade-ified version of Silent Hunter 4, with such strange options as [hard-set dud rates rather than duds based on torpedo make and model] * (incorrect, just poorly explained ingame, but the dud rate set at campaign start is not a flat rate, more of a modifier), rather omnipotent AI which in a stealth-based simulation like one for submarines is insanely frustrating, a very messy UI that is incredibly strenuous to view and juggle about when attempting to use it, especially regarding the TDC and information gathering portion of the game (the majority of the game, that is), and further to that, a very high level of abstraction on supply and service within the submarine, which is an incredibly important piece of the WW2 era sub simulation.
Much of this would be excusable in a vacuum, but many quality of life and other gameplay features that have been standard for literal decades are missing here. Instead, you get an AI-made cribbage minigame that feels more fit for a browser window than a sub sim.
Now, I understand that my first paragraph is touching on a modern-day entertainment battleground, and in all honesty, I can in fact get past some use of AI in video game production, particularly visually, but this game is rather clearly "vibe coded" from the ground up as the term has come to be. Ideas fed into an LLM and then the use of code that is difficult to iterate on or improve due to bad practices and the inherent limitations of AI, a process which cannot truly understand its own work or properly bugfix its own code, and instead creates code that clashes with the original work. Heavy use of LLM-based coding is a death knell for a game's long term feasability and success, and I don't feel much moral outrage about it, but I can't support a game that has no real, solid foundation.

In so doing, it glosses over and simplifies many of the other aspects present in many other sub simulators, which goes to this one's credit I think. There's some aspects that are a little bit "arcade"-y because the focus is not on a strict historical recreation. That said, the mechanics have a good deal of depth. Pick this one up if you like geometry. Also, the Demo is excellent and will give you hours of enjoyment while you're figuring out whether it's your play style or not.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

This is everything I wanted from a submarine game, I love the patrolling for contacts and it is up there with Sea Power/Cold Waters in terms of how satisfying a torpedo hit is, perhaps even more because you have to do the calculations yourself. I highly recommend this game if you like Sea Power or Cold Waters, or if you just like submarines in general, or even if you don't tbh. Just get it.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Not graphic eye candy, but makes up for that and more with the gameplay for a single player game. Highly recommended, and the game is not finished yet. I would however like to see the relative and true bearing on the hydrophone dial, to make it a little more efficient, but no big deal....you should be able to figure out the geometry if you are familiar.
