\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI do not recommend it. There is simply nothing to the gameplay. Most stages are so easy they play themselves and when things heat up a bit you have but to up your defense and you're good to go. Most weapons also end up meaningless next to the starter at max upgrade.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI would not reccomend getting this game in its current state. Man I really want to like it, but its in rough shape, it needs some serious polish and balance brushups. Theres too few weapons and items so runs end up feeling sameish, further compounded by the hard level cap of 30 meaning you only get 29 level up options in the first place even in the games endless mode. And compounded even harder by the first starting weapon you get being literally the only useable weapon in the game past like the middle of it. Every other weapon is just so much worse in comparison that ever putting a level into them actively puts you at a disadvantage for not using the level on something else because it just accomplishes that little for your run. If the devs eventually fix these issues I will happily change this to a positive review, but for now i'd say steer clear and see if the devs come back and polish things.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

This would be fine if the game wasn't way more expensive compared to its cousins. Like Holocure is free for example.
The art is very cool and the music is a banger but there really are only a handful of tracks you will listen to on loop due to the afformentioned lack of diversity. Really you play two runs and you have seen most of what the games got to offer.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tINTERNET SURVIVOR SURVIVORS is the most FUN, ADDICTIVE, and CREATIVE GAME I’ve played in 2026 ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´- I’ve never had so much fun playing as Flandre and that’s saying a lot considering she’s my favorite character (=^ ◡ ^=) The game features a gorgeous art style reminiscent of Needy Girl Overdose and includes eight weapons that, once maxed out, transform into Flandre’s Spell Cards staying true to her EoSD roots allowing you to combine up to four of them... ٩(^ᴗ^ )و ´- You can wipe out everything on screen by pairing these with nine passive abilities chosen upon leveling up Take BeatMario’s (COOL&CREATE) INTERNET SURVIVOR fuse it with Vampire Survivors and you get this game packed with thousands of references ranging from classic Touhou memes and videos to recent internet trends you’ve likely stumbled upon at some point. It captures and preserves all these elements perfectly; it’s a blast seeing how the song's quirky details have been incorporated. I’ve read reviews dismissing it as a mere Vampire Survivors clone, but it’s so much more than that; beyond its addictive gameplay, it adds numerous new features like an endless mode and a ton of achievements and boasts brilliantly executed sprites and itemsヾ(๑╹◡╹)ﾉ🔪🩸 I think this game deserves DLC and further content; it has huge future potential and could easily become a worthy successor to Vampire Survivors bIt comes highly recommended if you enjoy Vampire Survivors and the Touhou Project bor if you simply recognize the memes It also features a fun story it’s a Touhou Peak You need to buy it (=♡ ᆺ ♡=)

While it does have good artwork and good music, I’d say it is quite lackluster in terms of gameplay. It basically loops between 2 maps for 5 stages, only the last 2 stages have unique maps, and enemies more or less feel like basically reskins of each other with very little to no change in behavior (except for a certain few like cirno car). Bosses are surprisingly way too easy due to you being able to just regen all your HP back by simply destroying danmaku (which the bosses spam) and most of the time they end up feeling easier than the normal mobs cuz it just ends up being you standing next to them and doing nothing. Stage 6 and 7 (or at least stage 7 as I have experienced so far) are the only stages with more difficulty as stage 6 Remilia’s danmaku aren’t destructible and in stage 7 bosses gain attacks that can’t be destroyed (like Rumia’s EVIL shadow that chases you). Overall the game has a pretty low difficulty and not a lot of content because every match just ends up feeling the same.
If you’re here looking for a good time playing the game with good replay-ability, you should reconsider multiple times before buying it as it is pretty much just a very standard V.S. game reskinned as Touhou
However, if you’re here to support COOL&CREATE’s first project or for the memes, then you’ll probably have a good time (I did lol)

Obviously thats not the main draw though, its for Touhou fans first and foremost. The art and spritework is stellar, but unfortunately that was not enough to keep me invested, especially for it's price compared to other bullet heavens with much more content (Holocure for example). That being said, if there are complaints about repetitiveness, lack of progression or feeling of progression, paucity of characters/weapons/combinations, no map objectives or other long term objectives, and no way to view the art or soundtrack in game or otherwise, those are all entirely valid. Basically this is a survivor game for Touhou fans and basically ONLY Touhou fans and maybe then even only the ones that really like these characters or the series itself.

the last boss of the game is just a stat checker. attempts to include a normal touhou boss which just doesnt work. no visible hitbox, so sometimes ill feel like i should have dodge or not dodged something and i just wouldnt be able to tell why. as for the last boss, the game essentialy wants you to grind the previous levels for money to level up flans stats. thats all there is to it.

I really don't want to say don't get it cause what's good in here (the art, music remixes, the theme look of the classic 2hu chars) are really good. But as others have said, the game itself is sadly very barebones, only one char, outside of the taboo mechanic there's not much depth to the game play and in reality only 2 actual maps that get reskinned and recycled. Vamp survivor clone games are the vast majority pretty shallow and this one is just that, it will entertain but not for long. Would be a fine $5 game.

Starting with the good stuff:
-Sound design is amazing, just what one would expect from Beatmario. I
- love a lot of the character designs too, especially the glitchy Rumia and modern Meiling.
-I also find that the maxxed weapons are literally spellcards that Flan used in Touhou 6. It was fun getting a new item and upgrading it enough to go like "wau it's gonna be **** spellcard?"
But... that's kinda where the good stuff ends...
-As charming as this game was, there were many technical issues. I believe this game's missing texture is the TV no signal rainbow screen? At first, it was unobtrusive enough to seem like just a fun style choice for pickups. But then I got the fruit weapon, where it just obstructs enemies. It also is present as many bullets like Cirno's and as the magic circle where it is red tinted attached to bosses.
-Additionally, I use a multi monitor setup (left, middle/main, top, right) and for some reason, this game makes my right monitor go black while it is active.
-Like other reviews said, this game has relatively little content. I didn't care enough to make it to stage 3 with all these issues though. I saw that they somewhat tried to go for replayability with the hashtag system? I think I counted like up to 150 hashtags to collect, but it just seems a bit weak.
In conclusion, this is a really cute and charming game. I really REALLY wishes it can succeed. But in the current state, it kinda doesn't... deserve to. It has adorable elements, but the issues are too many/severe for me to recommend this game in good faith.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

On one hand, the spritework and music are pretty cool, and seeing recognizable memes on a commercially sold product is something that hardly gets old for me, at least. I especially like how the OIIA enemies ocasionally stop in place in reference to the meme, that's so funny. And the way they handle the overly complex boss danmaku patterns in a survivor-like bullet heaven game being "just shoot the bullets baka www" is pretty interesting.
But ultimately, it's just paid Holocure with less features and specifically no option to aim whatever weapon you choose as starting with your mouse. Also apparently skipping the chest animation after defeating a boss straight up gives you less loot???\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

This game has A LOT of style. The graphics are beautiful, animations great, soundtrack is banging. The character designs are great and doesnt seem like anything was botched by the translation. All in all, great stuff.
There is not much in terms of substance though. (Im 2 hours in as i feel obligated to mention). Its a VS clone, and if you're here youve probably clocked at least a 100 hours into that or similiar games. This wont give you a headache, not even a tingle. There just isnt really much to explore/unlock/check out in this game. Weapons evolve on their own without combinations, there isnt really any secrets or gamechanging things to unlock, max level (!!!) is 30, meaning you can unknowingly lock yourself out of weapon evolutions (hopefully its not a thing in endless mode but ive yet to unlock it). Ive played a diffrent VS Touhou fangame that at least tried to experiment with the formula, but didnt get any traction and got buried. This one just doesnt really do anything special.
This game is also not really Touhou. Its a VS reskin. There is no grazing, no dodging of any kind really. Your bullets can destroy enemy ones(and by that i mean Boss' bullets, no other enemy shoots bullets of any kind), so there is no need to dodge anything in the game. You can just stand there and do damage.
As for my other minor issues:
-The included references have some really glaring ommissions ⭐
-Game has slowdown in the very late portion of the run. I hope its a design choice because that would be at least stupid, not incompetent.
I still recommend the game. As ive stated at the very top, there are three reasons to buy this and im one of them. Its still a very fun and charming game, just wish there was a bit more to it :) Also, wait for a price drop. And i do mean more than the 15% on release. If its 25% then its worth the money.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

-You saw the word "Touhou" attached to a project by a big name in the scene and decided to eat it up

This game has A LOT of style. The graphics are beautiful, animations great, soundtrack is banging. The character designs are great and doesnt seem like anything was botched by the translation. All in all, great stuff.
There is not much in terms of substance though. (Im 2 hours in as i feel obligated to mention). Its a VS clone, and if you're here youve probably clocked at least a 100 hours into that or similiar games. This wont give you a headache, not even a tingle. There just isnt really much to explore/unlock/check out in this game. Weapons evolve on their own without combinations, there isnt really any secrets or gamechanging things to unlock, max level (!!!) is 30, meaning you can unknowingly lock yourself out of weapon evolutions (hopefully its not a thing in endless mode but ive yet to unlock it). I love so many aspects of the game from the art and sprite-work to the music, but this game NEEDS more content to justify the $15 price tag
In no order, my opinion and feedback:
-needs more weapons. there is only 8 weapons, 5 of which are horizontal directional facing
-add more characters. If possible please, you have the whole touhou roster at your disposal. This would also help with adding more weapons (reimu and her seals for example)
-shop upgrades need to feel more impact full, especially with how the pricing scales. Shop upgrade prices from lv1 to lv5 : 15k, 25k, 40k, 80k, 200k. These don't feel like they're doing much compared to the in-run upgrades even at lv5 max
-add a re-roll upgrade to the shop. they did reduce that cost of in run re-rolls but I still believe there should be a shop re-roll upgrade so you don't have to spend in run coins as much
-add a luck upgrade, this would effect chance of wriggle showing up and increases gacha chances
-add an upgrade that increases your level cap, one of the key enjoyments of survivor-likes is the late game breaking builds. This is impossible bc your lv is capped at 30 the whole game, making a maxed out build completely out of the question.
-add an option in setting to toggle the transparency of your bullets.
-make it more clear where your hitbox is, your hitbox is not your character sprite, its smaller but it isn't clear where exactly it is
-add a gallery. With so much amazing art it feels like a waste to not have a proper galley for it. (ex: boss animations, defeat animations, different enemy variants, etc.)
-fix to linux version, stuttering, flickering, and achievements not working. At the time of this review: some versions of proton (9.0-4) don't track achievements right while running the game proper. Others do the opposite (Proton experimental, hotfix, 11.0-2, etc.)
I truly hope they continue to work on this game and release more content for it so I can change this review in the near future\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
