\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tGame looks great and runs great, no lag or anything. Awesome to see a zombie game like this that finally has boats and aircrafts. But I still can't recommend the game. The hit detection is so bad, especially on ranged weapons (bows/guns). Considering the damage difference between a normal hit and a critical hit is like 10x the damage, you really want the hit detection to be accurate. It's fine when the enemy is standing still, but once they start moving is like we've got Neo from The Matrix dodging every attack possible, except for the fact that I can visibly see the 10 arrows sticking out of the zombie's head. But they aren't registering as hits. Melee combat doesn't do very much damage, so that's underwhelming, but at least you can permablock, so I guess you've got that going for you. I've also noticed that the points of interest are instanced in a way that kind of restricts zombies from leaving a certain area, which is fine; the problem is that once you enter them, the zombies just kind of spawn out of thin air, like 5 feet in front of you.
Side note - When looting, I think it would be better if you didn't have to hold E the whole time to open a container. I'm fine with having to wait a few seconds or something for a search time, but having to hold E every time is annoying. It would also be convenient for the bow if your arrows would show up in the loot tab of the zombie they're stuck in, so you don't have to spend a minute trying to pick them out of the corpse.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tIn the state the game is in as of launch day, it's an absolute NO from me. The Infected (Zombies) spawn repeatedly, even though the Developer stated they had fixed that. Food/Water is such a serious challenge early on that you just die repeatedly. Movement is "floaty", can be difficult to target things to loot, sometimes you can climb objects, other times nope (same type of object).
The worst part is cold, I died over and over again trying to find a place to put a campfire to stand beside where I would STILL die to cold. That was with all the crafted things I could make, plus I found a Military cap (like a beanie).
One positive is combat is much better than it was in the Demo just 1 week prior to launch.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

* Pro:
- The game looks nice, background music is cozy and warm
- Movement and camera swing are the best things in this game.
- The map is big which is great for future content
*Cons (And I do believe this needs to be fixed immediately):
- Sloppy aim: For some reason hip fire is better than ADS, which is not how it is supposed to happen. Especially when you are in close combat with zombies, the ads feel completely weird and horrible.
- The overall terrain is absolutely horrible; there are some invisible obstacles on a flat road that damage your vehicle, which makes it extremely difficult to keep your vehicle healthy.
- The driving is the worst part, where you feel quite difficult when you are trying to turn left or right; it feels very slow and unreliable.
- Infestation respawns too fast; haven't even finished looting yet and they are already respawning.
- Guns are too easy to get when ammo is much harder. Overall making the shooting part less interesting, where you have to manage your ammos but at the same time don't even have to worry about fixing the gun, cause you can easily get a new one
- Contents in general just took you around 2 hours to complete; after 2 hours there is nothing left.
- Poor optimization: I'm using an RTX 4060 Ti and i5 13600k. In a low-poly game, there are some area where you can't even get over 60 fps (already uncap the fps and turn off V-sync btw)
To be fair, the game does have so much potential. But there are so many things that need to be fixed and shouldn’t be a problem in the first place. Anyways, I really hope they don't abandon this game and keep developing it. Good luck, gentlemen; this is going to take quite a bit of times to fixed all of this.

Not Quite Dead has a lot of things going well for it right out the gate:

Now for the things that can be worked on in my opinion (and to be fair, MOST, if not all of this have already been seen and addressed by the devs)
-Yes, it is true that the zombies have a chance to spawn randomly next too you, or disappear. I believe I saw just today that they put out a hot fix for it or are planning to do so soon. Again, they are listening and reading the reviews.
-One very small complaint I have that I would love to see fixed is with the nightvision. As it stands, you cannot use it while you are in a vehicle. I think it would be very helpful and look pretty dang cool if we can use them while driving/flying. I was flying a chopper from one side of the map to another at night and when I tell you it would have made that experience such a billy bad A experience! lol again, nothing game breaking, just a small "this would be nice" improvement
-The game DOES get a little jittery when you are driving the different cars/trucks around the map. I do not know what is causing it, but it definitely starts to get janky with that.
And legitimately, those are the only downsides that I have found so far in this game. I have many suggestions that I think would be cool to add or work on, but it is very easy to be that person sitting on the sidelines enjoying the labors of others. Overall I think this title is well worth the pricepoint, and one that you can enjoy if you are a fan of the zombie survival genre.

love these kinds of games, but I cannot recommend this one.
every system is generic and jank (and not the good kind of jank)
-Looting takes too long and is the worst kind of random, with items that are useless.
-Alternatively you can find the best weapon within the first 5minutes with ammo to match.
-The 'tutorial' quests have you essentially finish the game.
-level-up mechanics, perks, inventory UI, Looting mechanics, crafting UI all feel slow and unpolished.
-Movement makes it hard to navigate + shooting/looting is difficult in the 3rd person unless you have a scope
-Map is sparse, small and without heart.
-Enemies respawn and so does loot upon restart
-Difficulty setting is redundant as you can just exit game if you die to avoid any and all consequence
I could go on and on but it's an early access game, but unlike the majority of early access games I purchase within this genre - this seems more like a cash grab and vanish, not something I shall be tracking.

This game is very unique in its own way. the tutorial really walks you through on how to do stuff. once your pass that then you get into the game and its a lot of fun. For early access your getting something good. Will there be issues absolutely, but its early access and there's one developer working on it as far as I know. There are a lot of challenges especially with snow if your not equip. The game is as it is with a lot of work going on, rather being negative make comments and put reports in. overall this game has a lot of potential. I was very spectacle my self playing, but the more i got into it i keep coming back to play. be ready to fight some enemies. you can even have it where if you die you start over with the permadeath. you can make it a challenging fun game. Plus the price is worth it, if you play for two hours and you don't like it its only 10 or 11 depending on where you live.
and i know the trolls will say i played the playtest well we are not reviewing the playtest so there's that.

i played yesterday honestly in spite of all the negative reviews because steam reviews can be deceiving sometimes. at first i was enjoying it, even though it was clunky. there is a weird bug involving bodies, you shoot an arrow at an enemy and if there is a body laying on the ground the arrow cant fly over that spot to continue. It was more of an annoyance than anything, though can be kind of dangerous if you are being swarmed and the bodies start piling up around you.
i ultimately refunded the game for one reason, but if it has been fixed with yesterdays updates i'll probably pick the game back up. ai spawned directly on top of me multiple times, and some of them explode so you will be standing still looting after clearing a place and all of a sudden you will just explode and die. it happened once and i was irritated but after it happened repeatedly i stopped playing.
there are a ton of these style games and most of the time they just feel like sad cash grab copies. this one felt a little different to me. someone said it feels like state of decay in this art style and i agree.
hopefully the dev/dev's? continue working on it, if not i'll change the review.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tNot as fleshed out as surroundead, but not bad. I tried out deadpoly when it was on sale, and did not like it. I played surroundead quite a bit, it is very fun. This game is in the middle.
Things I would like to see:
1. Change the music or add your own.
2. ESC key needs to be use more often like closing menus, returning back to game, and closing dialogs. The dialog for upgrades can stay while you close Inventory, and it's quite annoying.
3. I know most game do not have this, but add "Atmospheric noise". I want to be scared.
Too much hand holding. Not enough food.

For the price, I do recommend it if you want to kill some time, but it requires quite a few updates.
The movement and some features are great, but with the zombies spawning in randomly, the poor hit detection, and items (some) falling through the floor, it feels frustrating.
Also, because you are unable to do anything about the cold weather when you die as you spawn in naked, it feels almost forcing you to start over.
I also wish you could sit in a vehicle together with your friend instead of standing on top of the roof.
There is also lag while driving, which wasn't there at the start of the game. Also, the helicopter flies like ♥♥♥♥.
