\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tGame looks great and runs great, no lag or anything. Awesome to see a zombie game like this that finally has boats and aircrafts. But I still can't recommend the game. The hit detection is so bad, especially on ranged weapons (bows/guns). Considering the damage difference between a normal hit and a critical hit is like 10x the damage, you really want the hit detection to be accurate. It's fine when the enemy is standing still, but once they start moving is like we've got Neo from The Matrix dodging every attack possible, except for the fact that I can visibly see the 10 arrows sticking out of the zombie's head. But they aren't registering as hits. Melee combat doesn't do very much damage, so that's underwhelming, but at least you can permablock, so I guess you've got that going for you. I've also noticed that the points of interest are instanced in a way that kind of restricts zombies from leaving a certain area, which is fine; the problem is that once you enter them, the zombies just kind of spawn out of thin air, like 5 feet in front of you.
Side note - When looting, I think it would be better if you didn't have to hold E the whole time to open a container. I'm fine with having to wait a few seconds or something for a search time, but having to hold E every time is annoying. It would also be convenient for the bow if your arrows would show up in the loot tab of the zombie they're stuck in, so you don't have to spend a minute trying to pick them out of the corpse.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

* Pro:
- The game looks nice, background music is cozy and warm
- Movement and camera swing are the best things in this game.
- The map is big which is great for future content
*Cons (And I do believe this needs to be fixed immediately):
- Sloppy aim: For some reason hip fire is better than ADS, which is not how it is supposed to happen. Especially when you are in close combat with zombies, the ads feel completely weird and horrible.
- The overall terrain is absolutely horrible; there are some invisible obstacles on a flat road that damage your vehicle, which makes it extremely difficult to keep your vehicle healthy.
- The driving is the worst part, where you feel quite difficult when you are trying to turn left or right; it feels very slow and unreliable.
- Infestation respawns too fast; haven't even finished looting yet and they are already respawning.
- Guns are too easy to get when ammo is much harder. Overall making the shooting part less interesting, where you have to manage your ammos but at the same time don't even have to worry about fixing the gun, cause you can easily get a new one
- Contents in general just took you around 2 hours to complete; after 2 hours there is nothing left.
- Poor optimization: I'm using an RTX 4060 Ti and i5 13600k. In a low-poly game, there are some area where you can't even get over 60 fps (already uncap the fps and turn off V-sync btw)
To be fair, the game does have so much potential. But there are so many things that need to be fixed and shouldn’t be a problem in the first place. Anyways, I really hope they don't abandon this game and keep developing it. Good luck, gentlemen; this is going to take quite a bit of times to fixed all of this.

The aiming is terrible—it's only in white—and the way the character moves so fast doesn't feel right either; since they borrowed elements from *Surroundead*—which, by the way, has infinitely better gameplay—they really should have adopted more features from it.

I don't mind the hardcore elements getting instantly killed when a bomber zombie blows up is completely fair game, and spawning back far away is fine too. The real issue is that if the game crashes while you are running back to get your body, all of your items are completely gone. Losing 5 hours of progress and vehicles because of a crash without the ability to go back to a previous save state or choose your load is incredibly frustrating. Until these stability and save issues are fixed, I recommend holding off and waiting for more updates before buying.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Food/Water is such a serious challenge early on that you just die repeatedly. Movement is "floaty", can be difficult to target things to loot, sometimes you can climb objects, other times nope (same type of object).
The worst part is cold, I died over and over again trying to find a place to put a campfire to stand beside where I would STILL die to cold. That was with all the crafted things I could make, plus I found a Military cap (like a beanie).

The weapon upgrade system is one of the biggest problems. Dismantling any weapon gives you the same type of “weapon parts,” whether it's a knife, bow, pistol, rifle, SMG or AR. Those exact same parts are then required to upgrade every weapon in exactly the same way. There is no weapon-specific progression or meaningful difference between the resources.
There are 6 upgrade levels, and each one only adds +5 damage. The costs are 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 weapon parts — 210 parts to fully upgrade one weapon. Since dismantling a weapon gives around 2 parts, you need roughly 105 weapons just to max one gun.
The most efficient way to do this is basically to farm fiber and wood, craft bows, dismantle them, and use the parts to upgrade an SMG or AR. It makes the whole system feel completely pointless.
Weapons in general are boring. The bow feels unreliable, and arrows don't even damage infestations. I also couldn't figure out how to use gun attachments, and weapons can reload while you're aiming, even sniper rifles.
The world is also very empty. The map is small, there are no real dangerous zones or interesting biomes, and many points of interest feel random or completely empty. Loot containers are repetitive and sometimes make no sense — I literally found two shotguns inside an ammo box at a bunker.
The progression was especially frustrating for me. I spent most of my time searching for the air filter for the gas mask, expecting something meaningful at the end. After finally getting it, I entered the bunker... and that basically ends the game. No final fight, no boss, no real challenge or satisfying finale. The game tells you to explore even though I had already explored almost the entire map looking for that filter.
The factions at the safe zone are another strange system. You can give them up to 10,000 tokens each across 3 categories — 30,000 total. I earned around 300 tokens in 2 hours, meaning roughly 200 hours to max everything, while it seems to accomplish basically nothing.
Stealth doesn't really work because zombies can still see you, and there are only four main zombie types: normal infected, crawlers, explosive zombies and bosses. The bosses are basically just bigger and faster zombies.
Clothing and armor are extremely basic. There is only one type of body armor, clothes don't really do anything, and there are no helmets. Even sleeping bags can't actually be used to sleep or skip the night.
Driving is also painful. Fast cars randomly crash into invisible objects and take damage, sometimes every ~30 seconds, and roads can suddenly just end like they were cut with a knife.
The skill tree also needs a complete rework. There are simply too many systems that feel unfinished, random, or poorly balanced.
The game is fun for maybe the first 20 minutes, and I genuinely think there is potential here. But it feels like this needed much more playtesting, balancing and Early Access before being released.

Not Quite Dead has a lot of things going well for it right out the gate:
-A dev who is communicating with the players and trying not only to listen for positive parts of their game, but also taking in the negatives and seeing if there are things that can be done to assist with it (This alone is a HUGE W and something that the gaming community should be supporting regardless of us enjoying the title or not)
-Visually, it is solid. I am not saying it is 4k hyper realism nonsense. I am saying that what you see, is what you get, and what you get, is honestly not too shabby at all. Bonus points in my opinion for how awesome nightvision looks in this game
-I LOVE how when you spawn in for the first time and on runs after that, you have the chance to spawn in with a different random loadout/item/however you want to call it. I have done a few permadeath runs and this gave me some hope that I may spawn in with a weapon or something
-Entertainment wise, I have been streaming this and the folks who have been watching seem to like it just as much as when I play titles like project zomboid, 7 days to die, surroundead, and other zombie survival titles. That is saying something considering that usually we can all be quick to judge things at are not the usual

Now for the things that can be worked on in my opinion (and to be fair, MOST, if not all of this have already been seen and addressed by the devs)
-Yes, it is true that the zombies have a chance to spawn randomly next too you, or disappear. I believe I saw just today that they put out a hot fix for it or are planning to do so soon. Again, they are listening and reading the reviews.
-One very small complaint I have that I would love to see fixed is with the nightvision. As it stands, you cannot use it while you are in a vehicle. I think it would be very helpful and look pretty dang cool if we can use them while driving/flying. \n\n\t\t\t\tNot Quite Dead has a lot of things going well for it right out the gate:
-A dev who is communicating with the players and trying not only to listen for positive parts of their game, but also taking in the negatives and seeing if there are things that can be done to assist with it (This alone is a HUGE W and something that the gaming community should be supporting regardless of us enjoying the title or not)
-Visually, it is solid. I am not saying it is 4k hyper realism nonsense. I am saying that what you see, is what you get, and what you get, is honestly not too shabby at all. Bonus points in my opinion for how awesome nightvision looks in this game
-I LOVE how when you spawn in for the first time and on runs after that, you have the chance to spawn in with a different random loadout/item/however you want to call it. I have done a few permadeath runs and this gave me some hope that I may spawn in with a weapon or something
-Entertainment wise, I have been streaming this and the folks who have been watching seem to like it just as much as when I play titles like project zomboid, 7 days to die, surroundead, and other zombie survival titles. That is saying something considering that usually we can all be quick to judge things at are not the usual
I will stop there for now. There are many other good things with the game, but I am trying not to get too deep into the weeds. Feel free to tune in to the stream and ask questions if you want. RiftMath is the name there too.
Now for the things that can be worked on in my opinion (and to be fair, MOST, if not all of this have already been seen and addressed by the devs)
-Yes, it is true that the zombies have a chance to spawn randomly next too you, or disappear. I believe I saw just today that they put out a hot fix for it or are planning to do so soon. Again, they are listening and reading the reviews.

If he can stay committed to this game, I think it can evolve into something really good. The developer has already addressed a number of the issues I have had with the game, like too many exploding zombies across the map and no sorting of inventory. I see a number of people saying it looks just like Surrounded, which is true but I don't think that is a bad thing. Surrounded is a great game with years of developer commitment but does not have multiplayer. If this can turn into a multiplayer Surrounded then I am here for it. I played Surrounded early and it needed a lot of work too. This is based on my experience playing Normal mode in singleplayer for about half an hour.
First, the basic survival needs such as hunger and thirst feel almost pointless. You can find several items like water bottles and soda, but I can't even imagine dying of thirst when eating a few carrots completely fills both your hunger and thirst bars. It would have been nice if food actually required some effort to obtain, such as hunting, farming, gathering ingredients, then cooking at your camp, so that it actually feels like a survival game.
The temperature system is also strange. Standing near a campfire while wearing clothes can make you overheat to the point of dying. I understand temperature management being part of survival, but the implementation feels way too extreme.
Second, combat and items. I actually like the responsiveness of the combat. Melee attacks disrupt enemy movement and attacks, which feels good.
The problem is that within the first five minutes, I went from using a wooden bat to finding a SCAR-H. Suddenly, I'm deleting everything in sight. Ammunition seems relatively scarce from normal loot, but the game gives you so many weapons that you can simply sell the extras to a trader and buy ammo, making scarcity almost irrelevant.
I think there needs to be a more gradual progression toward firearms. Early on, you could rely mostly on melee weapons and simple firearms like pistols, with assault rifles and sniper rifles becoming something you work toward later.
Crafting could work really well for this. Instead of complete high-tier weapons being scattered everywhere, weapon parts could be found as loot. Dangerous POIs could contain heavily guarded crates with higher-tier components and a chance of complete weapons, giving you an actual reason to prepare before exploring them.
Third, vehicles. Again, the game basically just hands them to you.
Following the main quest naturally takes you to a gas station where you find fuel cans. Continue along the quest path and you encounter a fully intact pickup truck. It just needs fuel, which you conveniently just obtained. And there you go, you have a vehicle.
Then the NEXT quest sends you to an airfield to find the gas mask blueprint, and sitting there is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ UH-60 Black Hawk.
There's barely any feeling of working toward these things.
Vehicle physics are okay in some situations and absolutely awful in others. I've had instances where exiting a vehicle puts my character underneath it and proceeds to catapult the vehicle into oblivion.
I understand that this is Early Access, and the game genuinely has almost every element needed to become a great survival game. That's actually why I find it frustrating. The individual systems are there, but they need better balancing and progression to make survival and exploration feel rewarding.

Every time I try to collect something or check an area, another bomber appears and wipes out all my progress.
Retrieving your items after you explode also feels far too complicated. You die, lose your belongings, and then have to fight through the same overwhelming enemies just to recover them. This creates a frustrating loop where I keep dying while trying to retrieve the items I lost during the previous death. Instead of feeling rewarding, it starts to feel exhausting and discouraging.
I really do think this game could become something great. The core idea is fun, the atmosphere works, and there is enough here to keep me interested. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI don't say this very often but this game isn't even ready for early access. I tried the demo and thought it was ok. Got the game and of course I'm full of loot and randomly blow up to a zombie. Ok, they do that. Cool. I go back to get my stuff and there's no body. In the explosion I flew into space and there's no body now where I died because I was in the vehicle which also blew up. Good thing I ran like a kilometer back.
Not to mention several times I've logged out and back only to get swarmed by enemies. Apparently the saving function chooses when to save because I've gone back with and without gear I picked up, ammo, and of course everything comes back to life. Even a vehicle like in the explosion sequence comes back after reloading. In that case, I didn't get my stuff back.

Needs a bit work but it has good Potential.
I don't like leaving bad reviews when a game has decent elements that keep u going. but enemies falling thru the ground seems a bit of a big issue. More so if at one point, u need to collect things from them later in the game.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
