visuals are one of my favorite parts of the game, this game IS pretty hard tho.<br>Great game, I don't think there's a singular part of it I didn't like, I really liked the commentary on war, and how really good stuff.<br><br>Katana ZERO was one of my biggest gaming revelation. <br>I tend to have difficulties getting into pixel art games, but this one is just so cool.<br><br>I can't help but notice some similarities with Hotline Miami: fast and frantic combat, violence, pixel art, and excellent music that plays an important role. Yet I definitely prefer Katana ZERO, if only because of its more polished visual style and its story, which I find much better (and, above all, less crazy).<br><br>Speaking of Katana ZERO's story, it's really gripping and interesting. The characters are badass or likeable, and you genuinely want to know more about them.<br>In fact, this game's story has the potential for a great blockbuster movie or a series of novels. Or, obviously, sequels or prequels (though I'd prefer a sequel that include flashbacks).<br>Some characters are introduced briefly, ooze an ungodly amount of aura, and are never or barely seen again. It's a shame, because the game is quite short, even though it has a lot of replayability.<br><br><br>It's definitely far from being neglected for a game that is seemingly so focused on arcade-style gameplay.<br><br>The gameplay is incredibly satisfying. What I particularly like is this &quot;strategic combat&quot; aspect. You find yourself in rooms filled with enemies who can kill you in one hit, so you're forced to come up with approaches that allow you to overcome them, using bullet time, rolls with invincibility frames, and deflecting bullets with your sword.<br><br>It's even more interesting in Hardcore Mode, which is unlocked after beating the game once, because some enemies have specific traits that force you to adopt more advanced strategies and have precise timing.<br><br>Combine all of that with an assortment of amazing synth tracks, and you've got yourself a gameplay masterpiece.<br><br>One of my ignore the slo-mo juice. Also one of the best hard modes I've played - the base game feels like a tutorial to prepare you for the hard mode.
