\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tIf there was a mixed review button I'd use it here, I'm not quite sure how this game is Overwhelmingly positive if I'm being honest. I don't intend this to be a negative "disregard this game" review but more of a feedback review. I will play more of this as the game improves.
It's a great foundation for a game and it is fun for a bit, but there's an incredible amount of basic game design missing currently.
1. Can't skip the mid-wave breaks. If we're already so strong that everything is getting 1-shot, we have level 20+ every ring. we're waiting 3 minutes or whatever in-between each wave just so we can farm 1% extra movement speed or a trivial stat that we don't need to complete the run.
2. Build diversity is lacking, you get 4 slots (5 after you play for some amount of hours - which just becomes tedious due to point 1). You'll probably want the Dig Strength ring unless you are cooperating with your friend(s). So now you've got 3 left. You'll probably end up taking Crit Rate, Crit Damage, Heal on Crit, or Raw Damage. With these rings it seems like you can beat anything. Making Dig Strength an upgradeable base stat would be a better idea as I've found when playing with a friend that we either focus entirely on digging or combat.
3. There's lots of unlockable classes, but they seem redundant given point 3. Mage for example is useless. It fires slow single target spells which is absolutely useless when there's hordes of 20+ mobs.
4. Digging is boring. It's identical every run. The loot rooms you can find are filled with crappy weapon drops, or chests which can drop stat tomes which give helpful but ultimately boring stat upgrades ie. items stack 2x more. It really lacks the excitement of potentially finding some really good loot that incentivises continued digging.
5. There's no variance in weapons aside from slight damage differences. There's no extra stats on them, random modifiers, fun modifiers (eg. chance to poison, burn (or all the elements - what fun stuff could you do with them?), explode on hit, turn enemies into allies on hit, lifeleech, where's all the fun game deisign?). Think how much more exciting it would be to find an epic axe that can turn enemies into minions who then explode when they die. There's a ton of fun design that could be done here.
6. Digging items - there's no items that makes digging more fun. TNT, pickaxe modifiers, etc. Chance to explode when digging, %chance to increase dig speed by 500%, find a digging minion, stuff like that. It is surprising to me that considering a large chunk of the game revolves around digging there's not been much fun game design implemented beyond the basic mechanic.
7. Mobs are boring, waves are the same with no variance.
8. Meta-currency (gold) income seems to be lackluster. You get a massive drop of gold as you complete a lot of quests but they quickly fizzle out. The first game I completed earned about 1.5k gold, then we done a 1.1x modifier game which netted us 400. This isn't quite right and should be revised to a more stable and rewarding system.
I could probably go on and find a lot of other missing game design that's been missed but these seem like very basic changes that could be made to improve the game a lot.
It's not a bad game, it is fun for a couple hours. It does get tedious quickly though. Runs last too long due to point 1.
I would wait for further updates before purchasing hence the "No" review.
I do think this game has massive potential though, but again I don't think this game deserves the overwhelmingly positive review status it currently has, yet. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThis game is a fun concept and has a really good community. It's pretty easy going most of the time but is a little quick to burn through, as are most early access games. I was excited about the class system, but found it to be pretty underwhelming. Most run throughs you end up running the same builds over and over again because most classes feel pretty underwhelming. Tome books (stat upgrades) usually only go to 2 people in the party and it feels like more people like the modded versions where tomes are shared. It could be a really enjoyable game with some more polishing. I would especially love to see a match editor - where you can select more than just difficulty. Features like shared tomes and other things would be a nice addition. While I really enjoyed the game, for the average player, I'd recommend waiting to buy.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

I`d like to leave some suggestions for the game:
- Enchantment room - Single use altar which can improve one weapon
- Crafting flags - Many times we get lost and have no way to mark the right tunnel
- Room finder - Single use item to find nearest room - I had 2 runs which I found almost no rooms and the gameplay got boring
- Multiplayer pause
Some bugs/issues:
- Hitboxes of the things in the castle entrance for map 2 hinder a lot the archer gameplay
- DC`ing and not being able to join back the run
- Falling inside map
- Archer projectiles upgrades are completely broken - getting 3+ projectiles just makes the game too easy and happens too frequently

Unfortunately, the core idea of Stonewards is solid and its fun shines through this.
You do Minecraft for a bit. You first person melee Shrek. You get a roguelike upgrade. You repeat.
Single player in the current state I suspect is pretty bad, but coordinating with a team in multiplayer is a lot of fun. There's lots of little optimizations you can do, but the game is even better when you don't optimize and everyone makes trouble for each other sometimes.

-Enemy behavior diversity. (enemies that block you, ones that focus the player, ones that heal or resurrect allies, stealthed enemies that bypass allies and turrets, enemies with weak spots you have to hit to highlight single target damage better, etc.)
-More build choices. (ring choices feel a bit shallow and often devolve into get a lot of crit and healing, or be the team builder and get dig strength, stamina and movement speed.)
-More weapon diversity and stats (right now it's just damage which just feels a bit boring.)
-Interesting mining encounters and rooms
-Cleaning up collisions
-Better onboarding (either starting out with the mage class, or not showing mage weapons until the player can actually cast a spell instead of leaving them wondering how to actually cast spells),
-Making achievements based on server kills rather than personal kills (so players don't have to compete with one another for progression)
-Overall just more content

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tAll of the negative review's so far have looked past 1 important part of this game. This also happens with most games where it is "Early Access" To where devs show you the type of game they are attempting to make and want to streamline the process of making a genuine good game. People play 1-3 hours and are done?
1. It's a roguelite, It is GOING to be repetitive, thats the POINT of roguelites guys...
2. "It's so easy and slow with no way to skip phases since were so op" As I do think a skipping phase for a reward feature would be kinda cool. Get a difficulty ring and see how op you feel after that thing's level 22+.
At the end of the day I LOVE this game, mining games and fishing games always have the key to my heart and roguelites are always a blast when you can squad up with the 1 tryhard minmaxer, the 1 resource gatherer. 1 Ranged class player because he's probably in the closet and that one friend who you say "Hey go get them off the gate while I run back from the mines." and simply hope they are a good enough meat shield.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
