Shadows, textures, light, all of it is fantastic. I love the setting of this game. I love the hacker thing. San-Francisco looks amazingly, you can't take your eyes off it. Everywhere you go there is beautiful artworks, places of interest, skyscrapers AND THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE. Some of the missions may seem boring, but generally the game is interesting. FYI: Performance Issue for RTX 40 and 50 Players:
There is a terrible flickering issue with Ubisoft games on RTX 40 and 50 cards. This is a compatibility issue since the game was originally released for Console 2016. There is a community fix for it. Unfortunately, the fix is not resolving the issue on my end. This wasn't something I noticed until I upgraded from a laptop RTX 3050 Ti card to a 5080. I don't know if AMD GPUs have this issue, but I have a feeling they do.

The game is not perfect. I enjoy it for what it is. The hacking shenanigans you can do are incredibly entertaining. If want to turn your brain off, relax, and screw around, it's good. I have registered about 90 hours of playtime on the Steam version because I legitimately enjoy the game that much.
Criticisms:
As much as I enjoy the game, I can still criticize it. In typical Ubisoft fashion, this game had great ideas with a ton of potential, followed up by terrible execution. I thought the Watch Dogs 1 story was decent enough (not amazing, but good that I have played that game through 3 times). Watch Dogs 2's story feels like a term paper that you didn't start writing until 24 hours before the due date. And the result is a campaign that fails to build suspense properly. Yes, even the "tragedy" that occurs in the story isn't integrated into the story well. It feels like the writers had a checklist of tropes to pick from, but forgot how to link them into a coherent story. Shame, because I really loved the protagonists.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

There's probably an enjoyable game in here, but it seems to involve patching it with third party files and that just isn't acceptable even if it works.

But I think the story is still better in Watch Dogs 1. There’s just one thing I don’t like. I really want to get 100% completion in this game, but there’s an achievement I need to unlock, and it requires an online connection. When I went online, I couldn’t find a match. It’s really disappointing. But there’s still a DLC I haven’t played yet, so I plan to play that too.

If you are thinking of buying WD 2, just help yourself and pirate the game. this game has a massive issue where the screen flickers continuously in RTX 30 and 40 series GPUs. according to latest reports Nvidia reached out to Ubislop, for them to be provided with a drm free version of the game to be provided and Nvidia themselves would meet this problem out, but Ubislop straight out refused and categorized this problem as a driver issue. At the time of writing this review I have forgotten most of the games story. I only came back to it because I bought the season pass which comes with all the DLCs that add more missions or anything story related. The gunplay feels very satisfying and the driving feels smooth compared to the first Watch Dogs game and especially compared to WD Legion. For a Ubisoft game, graphics wise, it looks amazing although I cannot stand the flickering coming from the lighting and shadows. There's not that much bad things I can say about this game if I'm being completely honest.

The Season Pass did come with at least 4 more missions but honestly it feels like the story expansions didn't have much content for the price at least when looking at the DLC for the first Watch Dogs game. The sense of speed in vehicles is like playing a racing game if the cars had no wheels.
Reviewers praised it's "witty satire" at release? They must of been on edibles or something because this s*** is painful to listen to. The only moment in the game I enjoyed was the Knight Rider themed mission, and that was only because Duran Duran was playing throughout.
The gameplay is so repetitive it is insane, drive here, invade red square, stealth kill a few guards, punch a dog in the throat, hack a laptop to gain a key, use key to find and complete the objective, rinse and repeat...
None of the first games side beats are carried over, and the stuff that made it over got sideloaded into missions but they are so few and far between it wasn't worth including them.
Graphically it is nice, a bit empty but nice and that's about it's only inviting feature.
I bought this and Watch Dogs Legion in the same deal a few years back for next to nothing, I think I might skip Legion too after seeing this.

The open world was a bit meh, but it's Ubisoft so it is what it is.
This is like playing an Antifa recruitment simulator, the story is so bland and mindless, the open world is as wide as an ocean and as deep as a puddle...
The sense of speed in vehicles is like playing a racing game if the cars had no wheels.
Reviewers praised it's "witty satire" at release? They must of been on edibles or something because this s*** is painful to listen to. The only moment in the game I enjoyed was the Knight Rider themed mission, and that was only because Duran Duran was playing throughout.
The gameplay is so repetitive it is insane, drive here, invade red square, stealth kill a few guards, punch a dog in the throat, hack a laptop to gain a key, use key to find and complete the objective, rinse and repeat...
None of the first games side beats are carried over, and the stuff that made it over got sideloaded into missions but they are so few and far between it wasn't worth including them.
Graphically it is nice, a bit empty but nice and that's about it's only inviting feature.
I bought this and Watch Dogs Legion in the same deal a few years back for next to nothing, I think I might skip Legion too after seeing this.
Honestly, if this was free, I would still want a refund. No wonder Ubisoft is dying,..
