Today, I’ve been working as a video game journalist for over a decade, so when I first heard about this project, I was honestly a little worried. We’ve seen a few rollerblading games announced over the years that either disappeared or simply didn’t feel right.
What a great surprise this has been.
I’m genuinely impressed and excited by what I’ve played in Early Access so far. Most importantly, the game already feels really good with a controller in hand. There’s something about the movement, the flow and the overall feeling of skating that immediately clicked with me.
Of course, it’s still Early Access and there’s plenty of room for the game to grow, but the foundations are already very strong.

1 No content and no beginner friendly- There are 3 maps with some challenges but no other content or tutorial
2 Controls are a bit messy - The controls follow the footsteps of games like Skate 3, Skater XL and Session, which I played a lot and find great for the realism. But there are some that make no sense for me, like... why the default grind is a makio and why I don't need to grab to do it? Probably there is some challenge in the game that teaches frontside, but why isn't that grind the default or why isn't that leftstick to the left and rightstick to the right (or the opposite)? Why can't the inliner use the left hand to grab? How in the world do I rotate faster (sometimes it do it accidentally but it's hard to understand how)? There are many others and even if I don't agree with the realism of it (I do agressive inline btw) I could easily get around it with a trick-list explanation or tutorial.
3 Unfinished VS cost: I know this is an early access, and it is totally normal to have bugs, etc... but it costs money to test it!!! So when every fishbrain I do registers as a savanah, when all soul locks as a if I was doing a top soul, when there isn't a way to choose dominant foot so every trick says "rf" or "lf", etc etc, it starts to add up towards the experience you get for the money you are paying.
In the end I wish the dev continues to improve this and I do recommend this for inline skaters or people who really like games as Skate, but I feel the need to leave a negative review just for the amount of content/state of the game that 19€ gets you. It feels more like a kickstarter project than a game in early access, because there isn't one still, only a great promise of one.

We first got aggressive inline, which was great for the era - the whole tony hawk days of arcade style skating - then an xbox variant I never played called rolling I think. Most recently there was a game called on a roll, this got really close. I was really excited about it and it felt like it was clearly unpolished, but had amazing potential. That project was abandoned.
I can now safely say that we have gotten what we have all been waiting for. Even in it's early access state, this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ laced it. The controls - easy to basically understand, but the apex for mastering is on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Jupiter - are outstanding. The body movement and physics are fantastic, will need some polishing to nail it down completely, but bravo so far. Yet, most importantly, it feels like I AM skating. I'm a 40 year old dad with a broke ass body from skating and snowboarding for over 30 years. I wouldn't dare get on a down rail without the chance of being literally bed ridden for two weeks. I've skated for 20+ years and I find this activates the same areas of my mind as the real thing - you can really think like a skater. If you are experienced in inline, you will pick it up quick.
There is some jank as to be expected from a wip physics sandbox game and plenty of room for improvement, but the foundation is solid.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI love flow games, even if limited. I much prefer a good flow game to tricks. By that I mean the rush and feel of a physics bound curve, the samurai sword carve. I love style. This looks great, but for me t just doesn't feel that good. In a game like steep, or shredders, or skate, or streets, the simplest of natural carves feels awesome to me. But I didnt feel that here. It def has potential, but needs a lot mor refining, for feel. It needs a trigger carve for more turning accuracy, toggle the fast skate to a double tap hold, rather than tapping for starters. Just more time in the oven perhaps, For me its worth about 5 quid tops for its present state. The developers parkour game is excellent, so its likely this will be great too, perhaps. Get some play testers on it. Give us more speed, more rush, obstacles to slide around, more carve, more flash on the ground wi more responsive slides. And allow modders to start building cities for the majority that already love your game\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

The gameplay feels pretty smooth and the visuals look great. landing tricks feels satisfying. I just really wish that the character wasn't constantly trying to wallride every surface. Every time I jump anywhere near a rail or a ledge or a wall, the character instantly goes horizontal and tries to wall ride even if i didn't want him to. There are unused buttons on the controller that can be assigned to wall riding. like the x button can be for that. but its frustrating trying to jump up on a ledge and having my character turn horizontal and then he proceeds to have a seizure for no reason. I also got stuck inside a rail in the indoor skatepark section. that only happened once and never again so not a big deal.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThe grinding is absolutely horrible. I love everything else about this game but I cannot recommend it the way the grinding is currently. It's a skating game, that's a HUGE mechanic. Its clunky and and either super unresponsive or too sticky. There is a setting to adjust the grinding magnetism but it doesn't help. If you turn it too low then you can barely grind anything even when you land on the rail. I've actively landed on the rail and had my character just casually skate instead of grinding. God help you if you turn up the magnetism because as soon as you jump anywhere near a rail (whether you wanna grind it or not), your character's whole body hits a 45 degree angle and causes you to bail.
