From a lifelong 2K fan, this is genuinely one of the most disappointing pieces of software I've ever spent money on.
I bought this game mainly because of the CO-OP MyCareer. Me and my friend were expecting an actual career experience we could play through together, something with a real season grind, progression, storylines, rivalries, cutscenes, and at least SOME feeling that we're actually NBA players going through a career.
Instead, it's terrible.
The AI cutscenes are awful, there's basically no real plot, the drills get repetitive almost immediately (Dion Drills > G League Game > REPEAT) , the gameplay feels clunky, and there is ZERO immersion. It genuinely feels like I'm playing Play Now games over and over again with a MyCareer menu slapped on top of it.
That's probably my biggest problem with the game. MyCareer doesn't feel like a CAREER anymore.
If you're reading this because you're looking for an actual basketball RPG where you can grind through a season, develop your player, play with your friend and actually get immersed in the experience, DO NOT buy this expecting that. This is not it bro. This is terrible.
And if you're mainly a Park player, I genuinely don't understand why you wouldn't just stay on 2K26.
It's basically the same f***** game, except somehow it feels worse. Same general experience, same repetitive gameplay, barely anything that makes spending another $70+ feel justified. After playing it, I kept asking myself what I actually paid for.
That's what pisses me off the most.
The trailers made this game look like 2K was finally trying to do something different.

Unless they seriously overhaul this game with updates, mark my words: **this is going to be remembered as an all-time low for 2K.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tToo late for me, but save yourself the coin. Game is similar to last year. Defense feels better. Passing is still a ♥♥♥♥ show. Changes to MyNBA were much needed, but still leaves much to be desired. MyCareer is dumb as hell, and you will need to put at least an hour or two in the story before you even get a chance to join the NBA. Forced drills, stupid story, VERY slow progress while being forced to do the story as well.
I wish I'd have stuck with '26. This game ain't worth it. I'll play it since I'm stuck with it and I want my money's worth, but you should spend your dough elsewhere. I hope that when I eventually revisit this review, I can change it to a more positive one. I'll leave it at that.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

For this you receive a fukcing ban. *30 minutes go by* I play with friends some more and get player of the half in our REC game, second half I miss 5 three point shots as the new build is trash. To make matters worse, the graphics look no different from 2K26—it's the same old visual quality, just much laggier. It's sad, but most players will abandon this game sooner or later. They didn't change the 4/5 waiting for teammates giving you a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ai. I just spent hours lagging out of rec games to end up finishing exactly one game all day to actually get some player progression. One game done because I can't finish a single match without lagging out and it just gives you nothing when that happens. Got 25 rebounds in one game and lagged out with 1 minute left getting nothing. Awesome. It's such a great "cash money grind bro" where I'm rewarded with getting banned for quitting and still being stuck at an 85 overall because I can't even get a single bit of progress. It's just so great how games can't even function; how they give you nothing and no help after spending insane money on it. The text and pictures that pop up on screen during replays, timeouts, cutaways, etc. look like a 3rd grader made a graphic in Powerpoint. Same animations and SAME EXACT lines from the commentators as the last time I played 2K penetrating your ears every few minutes. I was excited to get back into the series after a few years but they have made 0 progress. Easy refund and easy $100+ back in my Steam account to use elsewhere.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tWhere to start? I've been wanting to see if there are any differences with this game versus 2k26. However, there are so many bugs and glitches that prevents me from even trying to play a single quarter. There is this bug, in particular, where the referees & players are not able to pick up the ball. The players would then be stuck standing around doing nothing. At first, I thought that this was just a one-off glitch. However, upon playing in "freestyle" mode, the ball passers would just get stuck in this weird pick-up animation over and over again.
I understand that this is a new game, however, this is a game breaking bug that, even in Advanced Access, should not be happening. I have played games in the past where it is still in Early Access, however, little to no game breaking bugs like this has ever happened.
This is just one of the many bugs and crashes I have experienced playing this game such as games not starting properly, frame rate issues, etc. The list goes on. Played for about an hour and had it refunded. Literally one of the worst purchases I've ever made.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tGame isn’t bad, less arcadey than 2k26, shooting is a lot tougher defense is a lot better but this game allows you to green through contest if timed right. People complaining is probably just skill issue related or not running with friends. 2k with randoms will always be a bad time no matter the year. Seen about 5-6 cheaters, only played 2 of them. Performance wise I haven’t had any issues, online in game is still capped at 60fps so any gpu made within 5 years should be able to hold a constant 60fps. Played one game of my career eras and was surprised how well the AI played. With all the new features, if you’re an avid basketball fan, go ahead and upgrade to 27.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
