\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThis game has so much to like about it. It's pretty well designed with 5 of the 6 classes having interesting abilities and builds. It even has fun little alternatives thrown in from time to time so you aren't looking at the exact same battles over and over. Even though it's an idle battler, it's still fun to watch it and tinker with your team to make it better. So what's the problem then? Well, you're going to have a hard time ever getting to play those interesting builds. At some point the game stops being so forgiving about what gear you're wearing and what skills you've invested in and you will stop progressing unless you start putting together abilities and a party with synergy. No big deal, we'll just start being more intentional with what things we pick...except, you can't. Every element of getting stronger is blocked behind 100 layers of RNG. You will spend an entire day getting what looks like an outrageous amount of resources and you'll spend it all in less than 5 minutes rolling dice trying to get what you want/need and just end up with nothing but a wasted day. It's a miserable feeling, and unfortunately one that overshadows all the great things this game could be.

I stand by my frustrated feeling of wasting the entire day's idle farming in an instant without getting any stronger, but the dev(s) are very active with updates and do seem like they want you to have more agency in your gameplay. Yes, there is AI. It's not in your face and looks a little asset-y but the game play more then makes up for it. And if you are complaining they didn't tell you about the AI before you purchased you didn't read the store page that literally says Ai was used.
For an idler there is depth with different systems and it's a great jumping off point. There is more stats then necessary adding to an RNG bottleneck but it's not any more of an issue then half the idlers on Steam. Might even consider it a mark of the genre at this point. Grind and roll again. It's an IDLER.
And seriously. You hit a wall? Rolling content and then something slowed you down?

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tA real shame the demo was taken down for release as it did a great job of giving you an idea of how the game would be since the first six chapters were included. That being said, the game is quite addicting and enjoyable so far. The first 5 chapters feel very well paced and reward you at every tiny milestone to keep the progression going through early game. It starts to slow down quite a bit around chapter 6 (at least for me), but by then you have a strong foundation of the gameplay loop, how to get stronger, how to get better gear, and so on.
The core gameplay loop is "bewitching" (buying/recruiting) units to your pool of Godsworn dudes, adding them to slots in the combat window, and letting them auto battle through the stages to complete chapters. As stages are completed, rewards are given, which are used to make numbers go up. I typically don't really enjoy this kind of system so could never get into POE/Diablo but here it's very enjoyable since you don't have to actively press buttons on really repetitive stages over and over to get your loot. You tab back in every so often, open your chests and see what you got.
Gear can be bought at the shop or gotten in chest drop rewards where stats roll randomly which is where the loot goblin-ing addiction occurs. There are also alternative categories of stages that serve as targeted resource farms which help with progression a bit as well. You can also forge to improve base stats on items you already have or socket runes in to add a little extra. The inventory also has a filtering system to autosell drops based on parameters you decide to make management a little less repetitive.
The game does a pretty good job of helping you navigate through the various menus with its basic but serviceable tutorial popups. Descriptions for currencies are generally well described and help you quickly understand what things are used for and how to get more if that is your current bottleneck. Currencies also passively generated over time and even generate offline as well which feels pretty standard these days. You can even minimize the game which makes it turn into a little floating overlay on your computer so you can do other stuff and glance at progress every so often.
The story is non-existant and the music is mostly forgettable but does its job. The art style is goofy and charming albeit shamelessly ripped off of Darkest Dungeon and a lot of WoW gear.
My main criticisms are some of the UI behavior and some of the game design. For UI, I wished clicking away from a particular menu minimized it automatically because there are way too many instances where windows overlap on each other and it becomes a pain in the ass to do things cause you have to go hit the X button on one side of the screen cause it's covering part of a menu on the other side. Some text wrapping issues are there which makes some tooltips unreadable. Effects are pretty poorly described. For example, everybody knows "crit" but what does that mean in context of this game? There is a manual thing in game that describes some things but it's very barebones and doesn't even have all the effects. Design wise, having the Godsworn have different rarities that affect scaling effectively make anyone that rolls not rare/yellow immediately useless. It becomes a chore quickly of leveling guys, having money, and trying to roll for new guys that have better stat scaling because they're more rare. It then also becomes annoying to have to relevel those same guys cause they are recruited at a lower level than your party currently is.
There is also a re-roll system for skills on your dudes but it's a bit bizarre since it only rolls certain skills, is random which skills you already have gets rerolled, and has a chance of rolling into a new skill that is "locked" which prevents it from being rerolled unless you use an item to unlock it. It makes trying to build what you want a bit of a pain and also makes you not want to interact with the system cause it might reroll a skill you've already invested time and effort into building around. You can reset your points to put into the new skills but it costs currency to do so which makes it feel restrictive. I don't mind a bit of friction in design, but I feel like the friction shouldn't be designed in such a way to discourage players from experimenting or even interacting with a particular mechanic.
Lastly, they also neglected to put the AI content disclaimer on the page pre-release so I didn't even even realize until writing this which is a bit of a bummer but whatever.
Complaints aside, I think it's still a fun game, especially at such a cheap price. If you're getting home from work and don't have the mental/physical energy to play something active but still want to enjoy some kind of game it's the perfect relaxer and de-stresser. We'll see how things are in late game when the honeymoon phase has worn off.
Update 1: I've passed the Ch. 10 wall (where you get the third row of combat) and would wholeheartedly recommend the game. Everything feels very well designed and thought out in design minus the skill reroll system (which the devs patched very quickly so they listen to feedback!) which now feels excellent after the change. The grind of catching up newly recruited Godsworn is mitigated by the Sanctum permanent adventure bonus buffs (one of which is permanent exp gain increase) which could maybe be tuned in numbers a bit to be slightly higher but feels well designed in concept. Set Items and Legendary Items you don't need still feel rewarding to get because of the Market Order system that gives the skill reroll lock/unlock item so every drop feels exciting even if it doesn't directly benefit your current party setup. As you progress, the enemies change up their setups/damage types enough that you have a difficult time using just one strat repeatedly which encourages getting new Godsworn to cover your weaknesses and adds just enough friction to be very engaging with the Godsworn recruitment reroll system feeling problem-solvey without being too frustrating. However if you don't want to, you can embrace the spirit of idle game and just level your guys level over time to brute force your way through with stats with patience. You almost always feel like you have agency as a player to solve the current problem. The only major complaint I feel still remains valid is UI issues/translations and conveying more information to the player about what stats do or how they work. The rest is extremely minor things that can be adjusted with number changes such as Abyssal Scale and Resonance Crystal drop rates so the player can better/more consistently target farm the resources they need to deal with the challenges. The core framework is fantastic and I'm looking forward to seeing how the game evolves over time.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Most people i see with negative reviews state that the game has unnecessary complexity when it comes to stats, but the stats are fine in my opinion.
Developer, if you read this please just add an explanation on what runewords do exactly because it isn't intuitive.
Game is perfectly fine and should scratch an itch for people who like PoE/Diablo2 Itemization and the depth that comes attached to it and autobattler/idles
The game is idle but you have to min max a lot so you have windows of activity and idleness, at least where i'm at in the progression curve that's the case.
The bad: We desperately need a Search bar in the warehouse and inventory and a more robust filter.
Another very bad thing about the game is that they shower you with uniques (items with ability/passive/drastic statistical changing abilities) and set effects (same thing but only activates once you have an arbitrary number of items of the same set VERY EARLY ON, making rare items kind of subpar and uninteresting when i was still gettingg accustomed to the affixes that can augment said items.
Sadly this is a very big problem in games with rarity item-caste systems nowadays since devs of the 2020's are seemingly afraid of making rare drops actually rare, underestimating the oomph of a truly rare item, this just makes us read way too many things, and when the dupes of dupes of dupes of something that should have been special hit it just doesn't feel good.
Just give us access to affix editing in some way that progressively gets better and just make legendaries really rare.

There's so many stats on equipment and no way to find out if it's better than what you've currently got equipped.
So, if you like creating spreadsheets to find out which skill will benefit most of which attribute, or which items is better for your current build, go for it.

The game is balanced around just going glass canon because they have a system that punish defensive build. You take more damage as the battle goes on and this debuff can stack so there's no reason to build tank at all. It's really on dimensional. The game overall feels pretty limited, there isn't much combination you can go with because of the system they made to punish you.
The class balance does not feel good. Warrior class are just so much stronger through all stages and game mode of the game. They scale so well into the end game and just bypass the game damage reduction mechanics in some game modes because they scale so well. Mercenary class is just completely useless and the weakest for all stages and game modes, it's almost counter productive to use this class at anytime. Cleric, hunter, priest, and mage are all reasonably good. So solve all the problem for the game, you just build two offensive warrior and priest to complete the game. Some classes/builds just don't scale when you add compound the passive skills together even with from other classes, runeword and mutations.
If they want to make the game better, they need to change the fatigue system or counter balance the fatigue system with overtime scaling to do more damage overtime. The fatigue system makes your characters take more damage by 10% per stack the longer the fight goes on. If your DPS classes doesn't do more damage overtime, then there's no reason to build a defensive character because longer battles is just punishment. Also, DPS warriors are so strong, they also tank better than defensive build characters so there's no reason to ever have a defensive build for any of the classes if you are trying to push progression.
The game and the logic of the game do not feels like 1.0 game, more like 0.9 and need some changes to make other classes relevant by tweeking the system and/or have better scaling/passive for those classes. They also need to add more stages for doom and/or make class restriction. Right now, you can just use priest and warriors team to clear all of the doom stages easily. This is true for outlands as well. It's one of the just put all the blocks in the circle since every shape of blocks can fit inside the circle. \t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Stats are beyond opaque, which doesn't help. It's almost impossible to tell what synergizes and scales with what. As a consequence a very intricate stat system is ruined and reduced to basics.
For example why do all of my heroes use 2 weapons? Which one is the main weapon? Are they both just stat sticks? Do they scale? If so with what? How? The game addresses none of this. You're left to guessing how everything works and this makes it feel random and pointless.
There was no feeling of "Oh, I'll synergize these 5 stats together resulting in epic power" moment in this game because you never have any clue what's going on under the hood.
This leaves waiting patiently for your heroes to automatically finish levels, and waiting even longer if they fail. And hope they don't fail, because you're left to guessing how to improve your power if they do fail.

The loot is almost overwhelming, without enough tools to help you manage it. You just click and click accompanied by a repetitive sound.
The idle function isn't really useful, as the AI hits a progression wall quickly. You can replay the same stage, but the loot drop rates seem to drop off fast. It actually feels better to close the game and collect offline rewards instead.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tFirst of all I must say, don't trust any review saying this game doesn't allow tank builds. I finished the game with two tanks and a mage. One tank was dealing ~800k to 1.5m DMG and healed for ~50k HPS while he also shielded for 30k SPS. The mage was still in the built up and was dealing ~500k to 800k. The second tank was not dealing any damage but healing für around 45 to 50k too.
Yes there are builds that deal like 2m DPS and that can as a glass canon do pretty much everything in the game. But tank builds are viable! But still I must say that a lot of builds take a lot of effort to get them to work properly.
How ever it was a fun experience and the dev improved a lot of the games flaws from the start. Pretty much everything a mate and I talked about in discord were added like a day or two after we talked about them.
But even tho this game is called an idle game both of us played it very actively and when we did hit proper idle gameplay we were done with the game pretty much. We hope that there will be some more content later on but both of us enjoyed it so far.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

However, the main reason I’m leaving a negative review is that I don’t think the game is idle enough.
When you play an idle game, you usually expect to just check on your character/team, let them farm and grind, and gradually make progress. But in this game, I sometimes have to spend 1–2 hours just checking my build, rerolling for a new hero, changing my setup, and upgrading things just to make sure I can pass the boss or stage I’m stuck on.
The problem is that no matter how tanky you make your team, it only seems to work for a few stages before they become a punching bag again. As you progress, the enemies keep getting stronger and the debuffs keep stacking. Because of this, it feels like the most important thing is simply having enough DPS to clear everything before your team gets overwhelmed. Then you need even more DPS to keep progressing.
I’ve played for almost 170 hours, and honestly, I’ve reached the point where I feel too lazy to keep spending 1–2 hours every day just fixing and rebuilding my team to make progress. even im not reaching the end-game yet
Overall, I think the game is really good. The content, builds, and progression are fun, and I genuinely enjoy experimenting with different setups. I just wish it were more chill and more suitable for an idle game. I expected something I could check occasionally and let progress on its own, rather than something that requires a lot of active time every day.

There's not much to do but to look at the prison to get better prisoners and there are so many stats ingame that does god knows what since it's not explained.

there is a "Manual" button ingame that gives a brief description on what each type of ability is (mouse over each one for a desciption). the same is true in the "more stats" button on each character, if you mouse over a stat you get a brief description on what it does and if it gets inheirted by minions.
lots of abilities and things to try for each class and each class can be built basically any way you want (tank, healer DPS) so fi you get into the building its pretty fun.
