This release iteration tramples the vibe by mid game when the drones turn into non-stop explosion electricity crackle sound laser orb machines.
Maybe if the explosions and effects were quantized to the backing track, or somehow blended better texturally(Explosions under water?) it would faire better for me, but as it stands it's just an off beat noise generator with flashy lights.

At this point I should have 900% of the fish already processed, yet it still sits there for 3 - 4 minutes after each run doing... something. There is zero room for customization and upgrades don't feel very meaningful.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tFish Lab is, at its core, a rhythm-based incremental game centered around the behavior of schooling fish, and its absolutely mesmerizing to watch the schools of various fish species form, separate, swirl, accelerate, and reorganize itself in response to the rhythm. The fish move with an organic, living quality that makes the simple act of watching them strangely compelling - heck, there should be an option to be able to customize a screensaver utilizing this hypnotic visual effect. There is a wonderful sense of mindless organization in the way that an entire school can suddenly shift direction and fall back into formation - i was entranced.
The laboratory itself is equally intriguing. Rather than presenting the player with a sterile, conventional interface, FISH LAB surrounds the experience with a mysterious collection of buttons, knobs, switches, monitors, and other vague greeblies. It certainly looked cool but two hours into the experience and i still have no idea what they're for (if they're for anything at all).
One can interact with an impressive number of devices throughout the laboratory, but there is often little indication of whether those interactions actually accomplish anything. Are these mysterious machines influencing the fish? Are they connected to some hidden system? Are they simply interactive bits of scenery intended to make the laboratory feel more alive? *watches the pretty fishes spiraling into school shapes* what was i saying again?

I personally dislike how the upgrade tree resets to 0 unlocks after each new expedition, makes the overall skill tree feel small compared to other games

Mines clear the screen and also succ things in. Whirlpool JUST succs things in, it's just an off screen fish vacuum

I just wish there was a way to disable the pulse mine. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless.... All it does is push all the fish, you just pulled in with your bots. But other than my whining. The particular worth of a fish seems to be dynamic, it isnt clear at all. Unlocking more different species of fish seems like anti-boredom tool more than it having a particular effect. New species dont seem to have a different worth than ones you allready scan in the beginning. After about 8 or 9 runs you find that youre catching hundreds of fish, a multiple of the amount you got before but somehow, the more you fich, the less all fish are worth.
