Wake up.
Water crops.
Feed animals.
Check machines.
Collect eggs.
Talk to villagers.
Mine rocks.
Fish.
Forage.
Donate museum items.
Upgrade tools.
Rush home before 2 AM or collapse like a Victorian child dying from exhaustion.
Very relaxing.
The game constantly pretends to be cozy while secretly turning players into optimization addicts. Nobody starts Stardew Valley saying:
“I need maximum sprinkler efficiency and ancient fruit wine profit margins.”
But 30 hours later people are calculating crop rotations like they’re managing an agricultural hedge fund.
And the stamina system in early game is torture.

People either love it or want to throw their monitor through a wall. Why is catching a tiny fish harder than landing a spacecraft? Early-game fishing feels like wrestling a possessed bottle cap using pure disappointment.

This is a very good game. This is one of the best games that have been created. 10/10 all around. Certainly, no one is waiting for one more person to say this, but after spending so many hours, I feel obligated to leave this review, as this is more than a farming sim. It is truly a heartwarming adventure (with a dash of extreme greed that may or may not consume you; it probably will).

That, my friends, was the first lie.
Every in-game day ends with:
"Okay, just one more day."
Then suddenly you're optimizing sprinkler layouts like you're managing a Fortune 500 company. You're carrying seventeen different crops, twelve jars of mayonnaise, three mysterious artifacts, a fish that only appears every third Tuesday during a thunderstorm at exactly 6:40 PM while Mercury is in retrograde, and somehow you're still late to Pierre's before he closes.
Meanwhile, real life has completely fallen apart.
My laundry has become an archaeological dig site.
My dishes have formed diplomatic relations with the mold.
My family checks on me by sliding food under the door like I'm a dangerous zoo animal.
I haven't seen the sun in so long that I flinched when Windows switched to light mode.
Inside Stardew, however?
Millionaire.
Married.
Two kids. (I think I have 4 IRL, but I honestly can't remember)
An ancient wine empire.
A fully automated farm that NASA would be jealous of.
Best friends with an actual wizard.
Saved the community.
Own an island resort.
Outside the game?
I celebrated my birthday because my Steam friends wished me happy birthday before my actual family remembered.
The worst part is how Stardew rewires your brain.
I'll walk outside and see a dandelion and instinctively think:
"Nice. That's 40g."
It starts raining and my first thought isn't "I should grab an umbrella."
It's:
"Sweet. I don't have to water the crops."
Then reality hits...
I don't HAVE crops.
I have a mortgage.
The soundtrack has become my internal monologue.
I hear birds chirping and immediately wonder where Linus is hiding.
Someone mentions mayonnaise and I instinctively calculate artisan profit margins.
At this point I'm convinced ConcernedApe didn't make a farming simulator.
He made the most polite hostage situation ever created.
No explosions.
No violence. (Well except for serpants flying at your face at mach 286.
No dragons threatening the kingdom.
Just one tiny little sentence that has consumed thousands of hours of my life:
"One more day."

I'm so sad to say that this game really didnt hit for me, there was so many little things in this game that actually stressed me out more than anything, and you can't say that my review is unexperienced, I both have 150 hours on this game and every achievement. I experienced the whole game, I just hated it. I think I had some fun maybe near the beginning or sometimes during the middle after taking a long break from the game, but god this game felt like a ball and chain around my ankle as I was determined to see it through so maybe, just maybe I could understand why people enjoyed it. I realize the game is entirely for another audience, and I've played a lot of cozy games, this one just really didnt resonate with me.
