Stardew Valley is easily one of my favourite games, and the fact that I own it on Xbox, Switch, and Steam probably says everything. My genuine playtime would be in the thousands😅. I began following this game before it was even greenlit on Steam and the fact ConcernedApe worked on it solo? He achieved what most never can. I doubted it would ever get out of the development stage but when it finally did I can safely say he blew away every expectation I had. I would say this game is genre defining.
There’s something incredibly relaxing about the freedom this game gives you. You can farm, fish, explore the mines, build relationships, complete the Community Center, or just spend the day doing absolutely nothing productive. There’s always something to work towards, but it never feels like the game is rushing you.
The characters, soundtrack, pixel art, and attention to detail make Stardew Valley feel genuinely special. Every playthrough somehow becomes its own little story, and there are so many small discoveries that keep me coming back. I was a huge fan of Harvest Moon, starting with the very first on SNES and this game delivers the same feeling of nostalgia in a modern way. The fact that it's still getting updated and evolving is the cherry on top.
Whether I’m playing on the couch with the Switch, sitting at my PC, or playing on Xbox, Stardew Valley is one of those games I can always return to when I want something relaxing, rewarding, and genuinely fun.

I never hesitate to purchase a new copy when I adopt a new gaming platform- when I was thru-hiking on the Appalachian Trail I would play this offline in hostels and in town stops on my phone, and fear I will never tire of it.
Despite having sunk (across varying platforms, what I assume to be) 1500+ hours into this masterpiece, I have not yet reached perfection- I am in no rush at all, and am a little sad that I am nearly there now- however, with the new update coming later this year, I have no worries or hesitations at all when it comes to beginning a new farm and starting the journey from the beginning once more.

Yes, the game about farming (even though its a video game only) can be a bit exhausting at times, as you feel the urge to be as productive as possible, days seem short, time runs too fast, and there is still so mush left to do! The little farmer has no days off and works hard from 6 o'clock in the morning till 2AM, but he doesn't want no days off! To reach Perfection on a file it took me about 100 hours, add in maybe 20 hours for the Joja route for those achievements and the Journey of the Prairie King achievements. The JotPK no death achievement was actually really hard however with some good RNG and lucky coin drops from the start it can be managed. It is always worth playing, there is so much content, so many quests to do, fish to catch, goods to ship, items to craft and meals to cook.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

One Thing I Liked / One Thing I Didn't
✔️ Liked: The sheer flexibility. You can take your time, plan a speedrun to wealth, become a farmer, a rancher, a fisherman, an explorer, or even treat the whole thing like a dating sim. The game rarely tells you how you're supposed to play it.✖️ Didn't: The late game can get a little too grindy for my taste.
Key Points
- DIFFICULTY:Highly customizable. There is combat and there are time-based challenges, but there are virtually no penalties for ignoring them or coming back when you're better equipped. You can set your own pace and choose how much challenge you want.
- PRESENTATION:Don't let the almost amateurish-looking sprites and environments fool you: that naïve charm is an integral part of the game's visual identity and remains remarkably consistent. The soundtrack is beautifully composed, with several tracks already considered classics, while the sound effects have been copied by countless other games in the genre.
- STORY:A classic farming game/cozy game with an ongoing narrative and a touch of magic. The real strength of its story and relationships is that every player gets to experience them differently.
- GAMEPLAY:You can genuinely do almost anything. If you like fighting, you can fight. If you like fishing, you can fish. If you like exploring, there's plenty to explore. If you like challenges, you have plenty to tackle. If you just want to take it easy, nobody is stopping you.
- TECHNICAL POLISH:Aside from a few glitches that can occasionally be useful, the game is surprisingly clean and elegant under the hood. Controls and collisions are consistently reliable, and the systems work together with an impressive level of polish, especially considering the game was developed primarily by one person.
- MONEYxCONTENT VALUE:Absolutely worth it. At €14, it's practically a steal, and there's no real reason to wait for a sale. There's simply too much game here for the price.

I played single player for a while but what made it truly fun was doing split screen with my gf. The progression is so much fun and all the events and all the people, and seeing your impact on the world over time is so much fun! We've played about 110 hours and there's still so much to do and see that we haven't yet. And we stopped playing for a while but decided to come back into our world and it was almost immediately fun again even though the break we took was pretty long. You really can do anything, you don't have to always progress, you can just chill and hangout or go out and do more long term stuff. Whatever you want, and not to mention the soundtrack, somehow concerned ape made the most relaxing and pleasant soundtrack ever. I started listening to the soundtrack when work and life is stressing me out too much and it works every time. What an amazing game for you or you and another!\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
