If you are looking for a management game I would pass on this game. If you are looking for a "turn your brain off" "cozy" type game I think you'll love this. I feel calling it a "colony sim" is a stretch.
Pros: This is a cute, simple game for those who like very simple management games. It's beautiful. The buildings are fun to decorate. The levels are quick. The one management aspect is changing the menu daily of your restaurant and changing the number of fish you order to optimize the amount of money you earn. The price is fair for the amount of content.
Cons: This is a rapid clicking based game. You don't HAVE to click, but you don't obtain nearly as many points/money if you don't. When you "open" your island everyday you click the cats to improve their mood. You also click as fish grab onto the cats fishing poles. Other than that there isn't much to the game play. It's really just a glorified decorating game. This is barely a management game. Running the restaurant feels shallow, as all you do is change the menu to assure you have enough fish. You absolutely don't have to spam click - you can hold for increasing the amount of stock in your stores, and clicking to pet/fish is really just a small bonus if you're not in hard mode (also I think they added holding for this too in a recent patch?). But - you can completely skip it. Seems like once you finish the story levels and get to the sandbox mode the game can become an idle game with an automatic day start option.
