I was shown a video recording of me saying "mega" as "evidence". I replied to the mods saying you can clearly hear I said the word "mega" and not something else. Appeal rejected. Still banned. Don't recommend anyone buy this game if a single rogue mod can ban you from the entire universe of servers.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI have 1k hours in this game, and honestly I partially regret them. 10 years ago, this was a great game to play and get into, now it's an absolute ♥♥♥♥ show.
1. The game is outdated, the mechanics are no longer representative of what modern combat is. The developpers don't bother making any significant updates that intoduce new factions regularly.
2. The changes they do implement show that they don't really care, they introduce gameplay updates that none of the community likes, and use the crappiest code imaginable, which causes game-breaking bugs and makes modding difficult.
3. The game doesn't host any of its own servers, meaning that if you want to play on servers with people who have more than 80 iq, you're essentially able to play on 6 servers, 4 of which are owned by the same community, which will ban you for whatever it deems is banworthy, i.e. saying something they didn't like, or playing in a way they don't approve of, which is fine, it's their server, the blame in this regard is on the developer, they HAVE to host their own servers! It's absolutely unacceptable, literally every other multiplayer game has this! The developers HAVE to host servers like any other multiplayer game but they just can't be bothered to.
I would recommend you play other milsim games because honestly, this isn't it.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Post-1.0 release its been a bumpy ride downwards.
Especially after the Infantry Update, when stamina and run speed got nerfed. walking, running, peeking, crouching, prone, it all feels like your moving through molasses. In Squad you will spend all your time walking and bounding from cover to cover. Vehicles are a premium and a rocket magnet so you will be spending a lot of time walking. It was okay in beta because you could get across a field/city/road in decent time. But now you get winded just from running 20m.
Then there's the the buggy experience you'll get constantly. Besides all the funky bugs in-game that's been around forever, you will re-install Squad multiple times trying to fix joining a server. Actually you'll be told to do this if you look up any problems you have joining a server. Maybe it'll work, most times not really.
Also why does the trailer play every time the game starts? There are rare instances that you can't skip it and that is annoying. From starting the game to the main menu, its built like an advertisement. Like bruh. I already bought your game. They also got rid of the server refresh button for some odd reason. The server list auto refresh now which makes it annoying looking at servers. To top it all off there is also mouse stuttering going on in the main menu. It's kind of ridiculous that the front page of the game gives you that lagging experience
If this was 8 years ago, I'd recommend Squad as it offered a unique milsim experience that you couldn't get anywhere else. But today, the only thing I play now is the Galactic Contention mod (Star Wars) or whenever a zombie mod gets updated. Even then, it's hard to recommend $40 for a mod built on a game that's buggy af.
Squad's glory days are long long past. We have more choices nowadays. You'll get more mileage with those other games.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

After and 8 hour day of work expect to sit in that queue for at least 1.5hrs. Then when your finally in the game, nobody is placing rally points or FOBs to spawn, so expect to run an extra 10 mins to even get to the conflict each time you die. Medics wont revive you, this game is just a ball crushing version of HLL, just worse because of the wasted time running everywhere because teammates cant be bothered to place spawns close to the front. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tSquad, a game that was once amazing, but has fallen off quite heavily. Offworld had created one of my favorite fps games of all time, and certainly within the milsim genre. In fact, I regret not playing it more when it was actually fun. The atmosphere in this game is still absolutely incredible, and is probably the best thing it still has going for it. But, all good things must come to an end, and boy did they. Still, years later, the Unreal Engine 5 and (especially) the Infantry Combat Overhaul (ICO) updates have really killed the experience for me.
Let's talk about the ICO. I have never seen another update in gaming that has completely overhauled the entire foundation of the game, and ended up making it worse in almost every way. Pre ICO, you could actually move around the maps on foot, aim your gun while standing upright, and shoot targets accurately, kinda like what a soldier is trained to do. Nowadays, your character gets to run for 5 second stints, and by the time you reach the end, you realize that this isn't a war game anymore, but rather a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rave (seriously, that's how much your character model is shaking these days).
Arma, which is supposed to be a lot more hardcore than Squad, genuinely feels more arcade-like than this game. I would go as far as to say that any time spent playing Squad as foot infantry and not driving a vehicle, is time that is wasted. And that's coming from someone who loves vehicle gameplay in these types of games. It sucks because I think the devs know that they messed up with this one, and we are still seeing them try to revert some of these changes, even to this day with the suppression rework for example. For now, I can just hope that someday, Offworld will get the game to feel like it did pre ICO. So I look for a server that has "New players welcome" "Newbie friendly" in the server name. I join and for 5 minutes flat, I get called out names and whatnot for not emmediately knowing where to go and what to do.
That stuck with me, if a "Newbie friendly" server is like this, what would the other be?

There's hardly any servers that don't require a long wait time due to the game's low player base, bugs occur often and will ruin your experience at multiple points, servers will randomly disconnect you with zero explanation, the community is only ok on the best of days and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the worst, most of the servers are based in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Russia or China at this point so you'll typically have a trash ping even if you want to connect to those ones, game feel is honestly pretty trash, the game doesn't respect your time with how hard it tries to be "immersive" when they go too far with it and turn the game into a walking simulator most of the time, and balance is an afterthought with how many kits are borderline useless and the other half are insanely strong compared to them. Trash game by trash devs who don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the game.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI JUST WANT TO PREFACE THIS, I AM A HUGE FAN OF THIS GAME, it's amazingly detailed, the gameplay is among the best I've ever played regarding mil sim arcade genres. That being said, as this game has my heart, it has lately broken it, and I can't recommend this game to anyone I know. It has bugs in just about every update, that will mess with physics, to straight up disabling an 'F' key, or distorted pixels on scopes etc etc...that doesn't bother me though as much as what the owners of this game have done to the Server Handling.
This game as of recent has been fairly reliable as far as bandwidth and server health, but now, it seems the boat has a leak, and it's getting bigger. This is the second weekend the games for North American Servers, has been completely unplayable due to Server crashes. This can only mean a couple things, maybe more possibilities, but the main ones are: Tencent deemed the N.A. servers circuity and or Endpoint is too costly, and they throttled down on high usage times for weekends, but while N.A. servers are supposedly being "DDOS'd", Chinese servers are just fine. Why isn't there redundancy for reliable throughput, failovers, Secure firewalls, I mean, for me, it just shows the priority they have for us in this region, and are probably finding out with these "trial blackouts", that their regions, as well as Ukraine, polish etc servers are sufficient...don't play, this is an Online game, and North America and the Longitude regions are not able to have a smooth experience...good luck\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tHow can a game make a ui system this bad, the sensitivity options are unusable, stuff like tank sens 4x affects the all tank zoom levels which dont even have their own sliders, and to lower the sens for tanks enough to aim you have to bump up infantry sens but you cant go low enough to where the camera moves anywhere near usable before you reach the cap. just because of this alone i would not recomend the game.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
