\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThis game has a bad rep for allowing cheating, and I took it as people just venting. But in this case, it's completely warranted. I was dumb and bought it first before doing research and learning it's upwards of 60% of lobbies and they don't even ban cheaters right away. They wait 3 months to arguably allow them to get their money out of the cheats, then do a large ban wave and sell large batches of keys at the same time (how ironic). Basically taking their cut from everyone who made thousands off their cheats, that now have to buy the whole game again and give them their $300 cut... My own fault for purchasing it. At it's core it's a great game, but when your business model "arguably" revolves around people cheating for your income... it's not really playable, and yes, I play other milsims and sit at about a 2.0 in those. It's mathematically almost impossible to go down to a .1 in hundreds of hours and be getting a random grenade tossed into a room where you haven't moved in 5 minutes. I know this will be spammed with the git gud crap, but fair warning to all those contemplating it.... don't... the rumors are true that this game is a literal blue collar job for cheaters who literally make a living off of it.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

It's been development since 2015. It all started with Closed Beta. My expectations were really high. Because none other game ever felt like Tarkov in case of PVP. This game's PVP is unmatched and so unique. It feels so rewarding and it's so intense. Because you might lose all of your gear in 10 seconds. No matter what your ammo is if you face shoot a guy he will die %100, unless you shooting a RYS faceshield with 9mm. Some might say this game is realistic, well, it is not, but that's another subject to talk about. This game's PVP is UNMATCHED. The best PVP I've ever experienced in my whole 23 years gamer life, BUT... It has many issues yet none of them seem to be resolved.
CONS
-10 years development and issues seem to be remain. They pushed the release only to release the game on Steam and start working on another cash grab game, which will be another Tarkov but in space.
-So many bugs. Audio is still so bad even though they promised to fix it 3 years ago. 3. YEARS. AGO. As an example, hit registeration is bad too. Bosses shoot one round but it counts as 6. That's why you get one tapped by bosses' guards so frequently, even if they use really bad ammo. It's even worse because bad ammos have higher flesh damage. I also wanna talk about audio. In raids, when you run around sometimes audio cuts and you freeze. That's like 5-6 seconds, but imagine this in PVP situation. That's another common bug that they never fixed. Omg... Audio is so bad in this game, so I was fighting in Streets of Tarkov, killed the player inside Tarbank, closed the door on my back then started to loot the guy. 2 minutes later door opened without any footsteps. I only heard opening sound of the door, but didn't hear the player. What a great audio.
-Destroyed in game economy. You can no longer sell high tier rounds and high tear armor on Flea Market. If I have 200 million roubles , I should get what I want. Because I grinded that amount of money by spending at least 8 hours a day on the game. Let me enjoy the game.
-Promised features that never came. Optimization. New unity update. More factions, more bosses, unique quests... They promised this one 5 wipes ago, which equals to 2.5 years. It's just all same boring quests except they actually added new quests last wipe, but still manage to fail at adding actually new content.
-Broken bosses. Especially The Wedge. I killed him 60 times, I have the achievement. It's nearly a gamble to kill him without smoke grenades. Nothing is well balanced in this game.
-Nerfed weapons and scopes. If the weapon is so good, developers have to nerf instead of balancing it. If a scope is so much fun to use, they must nerf it since players enjoy it.
-Inertia. They added intertia a long time ago, it's been so many years but it just sucks. Players with heavy weight playing the game "tactically" which is basically ratting and if you push them, because of intertia and desync you just die. Imagine adding Inertia to a game desync is common. Inertia + Desync = Death. If you push, you just die. If you sit like a rat, you just win.
-Players don't move. They just camp somewhere until a player comes. No one is moving in high populated pvp maps such as Labs. This destroy the whole pvp experience. Inertia also contributed this.
-DESYNC issues for nearly 7 years. Not a single improvement and it's getting worse each wipe actually.
-Scavs eating headshot but just don't know when to die, then one taps in head with shotgun. Such a realistic game. Yes, sometimes your hit counts doesn't register in server which causes this mess.
-Armors and hit registeration. You actually don't need good ammo this wipe. Just shoot a bit above of chest, you'll kill the man. Sometimes armors just don't work and it just adds extra weight on your character.
-Time consuming and hungry for grind. If you work and employeed, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. There is no way you can compete with other players, let alone finishing the game with any ending.
-High ram and cpu requirement. If you don't have 32 GB ram, avoid this game. It eats more ram every other raid. You have to restart the game after 5-6 raids even if you have 32 gb ram. Also if you don't have a cpu with high 3D cache, you won't get +80 fps, so 32 gb ram and + 5800x3D(minimum) is required to actually have a smooth experience.
-CHEATERS. Just saw a guy naked flying today. They never actually fought against cheaters since it's money source for developers.
-Unheard incident. They changed Edge of Darkness Edition's description, so they can say we never promised to give EOD owners future DLCs and with this move, they thought they could force players to buy Unheard Edition. Which many players did, but I wanna specifically mention that these developers are greedy. Expect paid battle pass in future : ) Right now, it's free. For now.

- This game still needs a lot of polishing (Yes, I know. What a shocker):
Despite being in beta for 8 years (give or take), this game still lacks in optimization, and I believe there are still some gameplay features that the devs want to include, such as weapon stances.
- This game is more like a challenge than a piece of entertainment:
I will be honest. Yes. I enjoyed playing Tarkov, but it took me some time to start enjoying it. The main reason I considered this game my favorite for a few years was because I liked the idea of this game challenging me over and over again. If you are a person who finds the idea of being kicked in the balls by a videogame interesting, this is for you I guess lmfao. Once you learn the ropes, you will start enjoying playing this game.
- You need a lot of free time if you want to play with the seasonal mode:
This is very simple. Are you planning on giving this game a lot of your time and dedication? Most of you probably won't, and that's absolutely reasonable and understandable! You may have other responsibilities such as a job, studies, or even a family. If that's the case, you can still play this game by playing the PvE mode or PvP Permanent mode. I consider PvE the most friendly towards newbies and people with limited free time.
Anyways, despite all of that- I like Tarky! I've enjoyed playing it, and all the stuff I've experienced when picking it up for the first time and learning everything is quite unique. It gets a thumbs up for me :)\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Most of the experience consists of wandering through muddy, washed-out environments, collecting junk, and then getting shot by someone you never saw. The deliberately cramped inventory also feels predatory, creating an inconvenience and then selling players the solution through more expensive editions and upgrades. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI haven't played Tarkov pre-Steam, but I am an Arma vet, so I'm not new to more tactical mil-sims. My review is based solely on the PVE side of the game as well as I have 0 intention to compete with kids or guys who played ever since beta and ruin my enjoyment.
On it's own EFT is a great game. It has the gritty atmosphere, has the realistic feel (tho it does feature some mechanics that are weird to say the least and not realistic at all but given the overall feel of the game that can be overlooked and I definitely see the logic behind them).
Gunplay is fantastic - weapons feel punchy and the mechanics of the game make shootouts both enjoyable to do and rewarding to survive. I guess it's even moreso in the PVP mode, but as stated in the begining, my review is solely on the PVE side of the game.
Game also plays nicely on a mid-range PC and I haven't experienced any gamebreaking bugs, crashes or heavy FPS drops so far and the game looks fantastic. I already mentioned the gritty feel of the maps but all the other details are great as well - the weapons, the attention to little details, the gear, etc. The guys behind the game definitely did their homework and researched everything properly before adding it to the game for which - kudos.
The general gameplay loop also feels great. It's your standard extraction shooter (the one pioneering the genre too), so you know what to expect - go in, loot, fight, get out before the timer runs out. Sometimes I hate being pushed by the clock especially on PVE, when we have games like Gray Zone Warfare, which let you roam freely for as much as you wish, but I do get the logic as well and like 99% of the time the clock is very generous to notice it anyways. It's just that sometimes, I feel like I haven't explored as much as I'd like in the time given for a run, but hey, that's the incentive to do another run.
Why does it have mixed reviews then? I haven't read through all the negative reviews, but if I have to guess it's mostly due to the DLC policy and general pricing of the game. It's a 10 year old game and it is indeed a bit pricey for what it is, especially given the fact you have to pay additional almost 30EUR for the PVE zone, which is silly. I did however get it on sale, with the PVE DLC included and definitely can see myself getting my money's worth in terms of enjoyment in the game.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\ti downloaded the steam version of the game, after buying the "Heard Edition" in 2024 and playing 1 hour on the PVE mode and forgetting it existed. after hearing about the 1.0 release i downloaded the steam version and tried to link my account to steam. after loading the game up (after 12 minutes os ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around to link acounts), i get instantly acount banned. i want to say that i have never cheated in any game (the worst sin i can say is that im just bad at games). i feel as if this is un-deserved as somebody who spent $300 to play.
