Examples- A shot gunner in the street should not be able to shoot up through a 4 story building and hit my guy on the roof. AI snipers shooting through walls with no LOS from insane distances and take out your men with one shot gets old. I spend more time just trying to revive my team then actually shooting enemies. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tJust finished Warhounds on Normal play level. I've been playing tactical turn based games since I got my shareware copy of the original X-com in my PCGamer magazine. I found it to be an enjoyable game that definitely scratched that X-Com itch. Of course, it's no X-Com2: War of the Chosen, but then again, what is? I thought it was a little short, though. The story played through pretty well and it was an interesting take on modern day factions. The price was right as I purchased it right after release. While I was reading existing reviews I was a little baffled regarding some of the negative comments. It does seem to be a re-release of an earlier game (that I looked up after learning of it). I don't speak Russian, so I could really not care less about that. The re-release is polished and it's a great looking game. Some of the voice acting was a little jank... Let's just say that they don't match the chararcter drawings sometimes. ;) There were no hair-pulling RNG silliness moments. Good tactics and unit placement worked as expected on the lethality of the outcomes. Also there were mentions regarding AI? Ok... So what? It's a game that has many forms of artificial intelligence coded into it. I don't get it. it was FUN and the obvious AI bits were appropriately placed and helped to expand the story. :) I did experience a rather infuriating bug during the final battle.
My unit was behind cover on a stairway and could not be moved on the next turn. I looked it up and found it identified as "Geometry Tile lockup". It only happened once and a re-load of the area entry auto save game got me past it. Anyway, if you're not a gaming snob and enjoy the tactical turn-based game style for what it is, I highly recommend it for a short distraction.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

There's an interesting balance of gameplay mechanics and equipment in play between positioning, active abilities, overwatch, and classes. Even as the difficulty ramped up, I rarely felt truly stuck in a battle. Despite some of the classic XCOM annoyances like enemies moving when you find them and reinforcements appearing on your flanks, the tools exist to be successful. The areas are particularly well-designed, being both visually interesting and full of cover to use.
The story is surprisingly interesting, with some meaningful plot twists and choices throughout the campaign. That said, the voice acting and characters fall a bit flat at times.

- Storyline seems rushed. A good tactical shooter must be paired with a good story to get me playing over time.
- There are some decent mechanics, but the AI gameplay is predictable and unrealistic. They are easy to defeat using cover and grenades.
- Good idea with base on the ship and missions around, almost like old school X-COM.
- Graphics seems rushed
- Also get weapon ranges correct. I mean i Sniper that shoots 100 meters is just dumb

I’ve played all the XCOM games, Gears Tactics, Expeditions: Rome, Desperados, Phoenix Point, Fallout Tactics, Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate, and the entire Jagged Alliance series. This game gives me strong Jagged Alliance vibes. I've only played for 4 hours so far, but I really enjoy it. The combat is great, being able to make two moves or shots in a single turn makes encounters feel much more tactical and enjoyable. Highly recommended!\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
