I gave up because the entirety of the internet bullied me into playing them. I wish I caved in sooner. Just from playing a singular neutral route (because of accidentally killing Toriel-), I cried. The music is beautiful. The story is heartbreaking. I'll for sure play through at least two more times and I promise, it is worth it, even if you are a decade late to the party like me.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

İkonik müzikleriyle, karakterleriyle, mekanlarıyla, yaptığınız her ama her şeyin bir sonucunun olduğunu iliklerinize kadar hissettirmesiyle, basit ama eğlenceli oynanışı ve mekanikleriyle ve sevgiyle, inançla ve özenle yapılmış her eserin (Oyun, kitap, dizi-film, anime, manga... kısacası her şey) bütçesinden ve geliştirici kişi sayısından bağımsız bir şaheser olabileceğini gösteren o özel oyun... Hikayede ilerledikçe aslında hiçbir şeyin siyah ve beyazdan ibaret olmadığını, her karakterin iyi ya da kötü yönleriyle (Bazılarının sırf iyi ve saf olduğu tabi) birer insan gibi olduklarını; sevdiklerini, nefret ettiklerini, korktuklarını, üzüldüklerini, değer verdiklerini gördüğümüz o oyun.... Oyun boyunca karşılaştığımız herkesi öldürebileceğimiz gibi hiç kimseye zarar vermeyip aksine her bir karakterin farklılıkları doğrultusunda çeşitli stratejiler uygulayarak onları bağışlayıp onlarla arkadaş olabileceğimiz, yaptığımız bu tercihlerin muhakkak sonuçlarıyla yüzleşeceğimiz, "Actions have consequences (Her yaptığımızın sonucu vardır)" sözünün karşılığı olan o oyun... Muhteşem müziklerinin insana sevgiyi, aşkı, hüznü, öfkeyi, fedakarlığı, empati duygusunu ve daha nicesini yaşattığı, hatta kimilerinin beni ağlattığı o oyun... Karakterlerinin her birinin çok özel olduğu ve insana farklı hisler yaşattığı, bazı karakterlerin adeta hayat dersi niteliğinde olduğu ve insanlığın farklı özelliklerine ve noktalarına parmak bastığı, insanın kendisine ve yaradılışına ayna tutan o oyun... Çeşit çeşit mekanlarda ve atmosferlerde serüvene çıktığımız, 8 bit grafiklerin bu ortamda adeta güzeller güzeli bir süs gibi olduğu o oyun... Ölmeden önce deneyimleyebildiğim için kendimi çok şanslı gördüğüm o oyun...
HİKAYE
Hikaye, insanlarla canavarların amansız bir savaşa girmesinden ve en son insanların galip gelip canavarları yer altına, Ebott dağının diplerine hapsetmesiyle ortaya çıkan bu abuklukta zaman içerisinde, dağın eteklerine gidip ardından aşağı düşen yedi çocuktan sonuncusu olan ana karakterimizin kendini sarı çiçeklerin üzerinde bulmasıyla başlıyor. Karakterimiz kendini toplayıp ilerlemeye başlıyor ve karşısına Flowey the Flower adında, deminki sarı çiçeklerin aynısı olan bir çiçek çıkıyor. Bu çiçekten sonra yolumuza Toriel isminde, içinde bulundukları RUINS bölgesinin bekçisi olan, bizi bulduğu yere sürekli gelip başka bir çocuk düşmüş mü diye bakan, anaç yapıda devasa bir canavarla devam ediyoruz. Bu canavar bize bulunduğumuz yeri tanıtıyor, puzzle'lar çözdürüyor, bastığımız yerdeki tuzaklara dikkat etmemiz gerektiğini gösteriyor, bizim canavarlarla konuşmamızı öğütleyip deneme yaptırıyor, ardından bir işi çıkıp gidiyor ve bir başımıza kalıyoruz. İşte buradan sonrası tamamen bizim elimizde; ya herkesle konuşup anlaşan ama kendisini de koruyan, ezdirmeyen, barışçıl bir insan oluruz, ya da önüne gelen herkesi katleden bir katil... Tabi, beraberinde sonuçlarıyla...

Hikayede ilerledikçe aslında hiçbir şeyin siyah ve beyazdan ibaret olmadığını, her karakterin iyi ya da kötü yönleriyle (Bazılarının sırf iyi ve saf olduğu tabi) birer insan gibi olduklarını; sevdiklerini, nefret ettiklerini, korktuklarını, üzüldüklerini, değer verdiklerini gördüğümüz o oyun.... Çeşit çeşit mekanlarda ve atmosferlerde serüvene çıktığımız, 8 bit grafiklerin bu ortamda adeta güzeller güzeli bir süs gibi olduğu o oyun... Ölmeden önce deneyimleyebildiğim için kendimi çok şanslı gördüğüm o oyun...
HİKAYE
Hikaye, insanlarla canavarların amansız bir savaşa girmesinden ve en son insanların galip gelip canavarları yer altına, Ebott dağının diplerine hapsetmesiyle ortaya çıkan bu abuklukta zaman içerisinde, dağın eteklerine gidip ardından aşağı düşen yedi çocuktan sonuncusu olan ana karakterimizin kendini sarı çiçeklerin üzerinde bulmasıyla başlıyor. Karakterimiz kendini toplayıp ilerlemeye başlıyor ve karşısına Flowey the Flower adında, deminki sarı çiçeklerin aynısı olan bir çiçek çıkıyor. Bu çiçekten sonra yolumuza Toriel isminde, içinde bulundukları RUINS bölgesinin bekçisi olan, bizi bulduğu yere sürekli gelip başka bir çocuk düşmüş mü diye bakan, anaç yapıda devasa bir canavarla devam ediyoruz. Bu canavar bize bulunduğumuz yeri tanıtıyor, puzzle'lar çözdürüyor, bastığımız yerdeki tuzaklara dikkat etmemiz gerektiğini gösteriyor, bizim canavarlarla konuşmamızı öğütleyip deneme yaptırıyor, ardından bir işi çıkıp gidiyor ve bir başımıza kalıyoruz. İşte buradan sonrası tamamen bizim elimizde; ya herkesle konuşup anlaşan ama kendisini de koruyan, ezdirmeyen, barışçıl bir insan oluruz, ya da önüne gelen herkesi katleden bir katil... Despite being held back slightly by some accessibility/quality of life issues, Undertale is a wonderful game and I highly recommend it! It's overflowing with personality, surprisingly emotional and is, most importantly, very fun to play. My first experience of the game was as a child watching Youtube playthroughs of the game, and I joined the fandom in the early COVID years.
I accept the fact that for the rest of my life, there will surely be no piece of entertainment that has made me feel the way this game has, made me so curious to learn everything there is about it. Something about the characters, the overarching story, the game, the artwork and sprites, the attacks. This game has the perfect combination of everything, and every part of the game is so brilliantly thought out and planned in a way where nothing is in the game just for the sake of it - everything has its purpose and every idea is executed well and effectively.
It all cumulates into a game that for me, cannot and will not ever be outshone in my eyes. I hold this game to my heart extremely dearly, and it has its part in shaping my life over the many years. No matter how much I grow as a person, or how drastically different my life becomes, my infatuation with Undertale has always remained constant.
