There is abosulely no point in playing when RNG controls over 50% of the player's 'choice'. You can learn the different requirements and what's important to progress but even through you allocate the best teams available there's still a stupid HIGH CHANCE THAT YOU LOSE - I'm talking a 1/2 star (should be easy) that you fail miserably (there a 1-4 star metric for dififculty)

When I broke through the first trench I thought this would open up more options. It initially did, then the game ended, said I won. Every casualty hurts. Command has too many demands for the squads you have available. The best you can do is pick the best men for the job and hope they succeed. I really like the idea behind this game. Also since I'm a huge fan of history and especially war - this could definitely have that feel... if worked on for a lot longer. I'm not really sure why history wasn't drawn upon more for this game.
For the game itself:
We need more ways to mitigate the spiral of doom. Once you have a few failed missions especially at the beginning then the run is basically over. There has to be more ways to mitigate the RNG factor. Perhaps being able to promote veteran guys within your own unit giving way for them to have slightly better morale. Maybe allow your commander to have 1 on 1's with specific guys? SOMETHING
Bonds between soldiers are talked about but aren't shown between each specific other soldier(s)... perhaps allowing them to be deadly despite having low morale? I kind of have an idea of how this works but then I don't at the same time??
I'm still unsure how to get a citation better than the first. What actually qualifies?
Also, before each mission allow us to see what positive and negative modifiers could happen. That would be extremely helpful in deciding where to go. To be honest, the more you play, you will know what missions will do what eventually... so why not show it??

RNG controls most of the outcomes for events, and it is far too easy to death spiral when the RNG kills off one too many men or constantly fails trench repair or resupply missions despite one star difficulty. Content is okay? You can experience 90% of the events in the first hour or two, but it's just enough that you don't find yourself wishing for that much more. I hope later patches will retune the RNG and rebalance some aspects, (awarding soldiers medals is almost useless), but for the price tag, it's not a bad deal, all things considered.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Based on the Dev updates i think this game will reach that worth 8$ tier sooner rather than late, and i simply hope they expand upon timeline in game, it might be out of scope but getting a stage 2 or even 3 to the game after finishing where it currently sits would be fantastic.

Often it's pure RNG, as has been said (and therefore your choices matter very little and can end in disaster regardless), and even then there are only a few types of missions. It is all text based, which I don't inherently mind, but because of the limited possibilities and pure RNG, you run through all the permutations of the game in a few hours (just look at the playtime of the other reviews... this game takes only a morning to play to exhaustion).

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tReally fun game. I do agree with its biggest criticism that it is a bit of an RNG salad. The first time I had the mission for all four squads to go over the top, all of my squads were in great condition and even with my Lieutenant joining in with the toughest squad, the mission was ranked at two stars and we still lost. I went back to the home screen, clicked on "Continue," did the exact same thing but for some reason this time it was ranked at one star and we had an overwhelming success. I get that part of this games charm comes from the unpredictable nature of war, but sometimes it can feel like pure gambling rather than strategic management. The only other thing I would say I wish for is reinforcements to come more often, or maybe give us the option to request for it. It's frustrating to have the game descend quickly into a loss just because a few soldiers being wounded or KIA makes most late-game missions extremely difficult without a full and prepared squad. I'm only focusing on what I'm left wanting for because the rest of the game is so incredibly fun. I love the variety of missions, I love the atmosphere and immersion, I love all the little easter eggs and details that make this game immersive, I love how fast I get attached to my soldiers and how quickly I can see the movie playing out in my head when they win or lose. Great game, super excited for many more updates and many more hours played.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
