constant uphill battle with the rock that is rng. yet i don't mind it. these games are meant to be hard. they're meant to push you to extreme focus. there's a certain good feeling when you get a bit reviews about how difficult and unfair the game is, and while it’s true that there are some things just fully out of your control, a huge chunk can literally be boiled down to just getting good. Adam’s games are known in indie horror as incredibly difficult, and these games are niche enough to the point where you should have somewhat of an idea of the game by other people before going in. If you don’t have the patience to grind for hours learning every game mechanic and sound cue, then it’s just not the game for you. Yes the sound cues are super quiet, making the jumpscares super loud but this is the games way of punishing you for losing because Adam literally added checkpoints, something that none of his previous games (apart from causal in Scrutinized) ever had. This game feels fair, but still unforgiving.<br><br>Some people complain about how multiple threats and hacks constantly overlap with each other and that’s the point of the game. You’re supposed to prioritize what to do first and make a decision quickly. There are some VERY rare situations where it’s unfair (for example one time the old song started playing on the exact frame my power went out, so the sliding doors were locked and I was just dead), but for the most part you have enough time to juggle threats.<br><br>Yes the game can be balanced better and some things could be reworked, but what I’m saying is don’t complain about the difficulty if you aren’t willing to put the time in, and know what you’re getting into<br><br>I beat it in about 8 hours after watching some let’s plays right at release and had a great experience. There’s really nothing else like these games.
