Adding onto that, it's an amazing RPG tactical game with army management and waifus. You can dungeon crawl, enter through different routes, and there is a New Game + that I've just unlocked!
The game is very hard but it is satisfying to finally beat it to reach the true ending. You cannot unlock all the characters in one run nor can you romance all the characters feasibly. This only means that it adds to the insane replay value that this game has!

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tSengoku Rance marks the first official Rance release on Steam and finally bringing one of the older legends of the visual novel/JRPG world to a much wider audience. Rance himself feels like the grandfather of the modern isekai/fantasy protagonist archetype and his influence can be seen in Mushoku Tensei and Konosuba, whose authors have cited the Rance series as an inspiration.
What makes Sengoku Rance so special is the balance between its story and gameplay.
Sengoku Rance is kinda a "spin-off" as it kinda breaks from the main continent storyline and has a very fun take on the unification of Japan. Alicesoft packed an incredible amount of content into this game from its huge cast and beautiful artwork to its surprisingly deep turnbased strategy and RPG systems. Managing your limited roster, building armies, conquering territories and experimenting with different characters makes every playthrough feel different and gives the game enormous replay value
(easily 50h+ of content and some people even have hundreds of hours just for the gameplay alone)
And then there is Rance himself. He is an absolutely ridiculous character, but that’s exactly what makes him so entertaining. The comedy is consistently great (you need to have a specific humor or be open minded). While the story can switch between hilarious and very dark and surprisingly serious moments. Keep in mind the whole Rance universe is kinda messed up and despite how Rance lives his life, I would call him more a "chaotic neutral".
My only real complaint is the UI. It feels outdated and is not really userfriendly by modern standards, although the old school aesthetics have their own charm and immediately remind you of late 1990s early 2000s PC games.
If they could add achievements this would be great and way more people would buy it too!

Sengoku Rance is an absolute classic and one of the best gameplay-focused VNs. Huge thanks to MangaGamer, Kagura Games and of course Alicesoft for finally bringing Rance to Steam. Hopefully we will eventually get the entire series on the platform and please try to bring Evenicle 2 and DohnaDohna on steam... GOG has it so steam can have it too :D

\n\n\t\t\t\tWhat makes Sengoku Rance so special is the balance between its story and gameplay.
Sengoku Rance is kinda a "spin-off" as it kinda breaks from the main continent storyline and has a very fun take on the unification of Japan. Alicesoft packed an incredible amount of content into this game from its huge cast and beautiful artwork to its surprisingly deep turnbased strategy and RPG systems. Managing your limited roster, building armies, conquering territories and experimenting with different characters makes every playthrough feel different and gives the game enormous replay value
(easily 50h+ of content and some people even have hundreds of hours just for the gameplay alone)
And then there is Rance himself. He is an absolutely ridiculous character, but that’s exactly what makes him so entertaining. The comedy is consistently great (you need to have a specific humor or be open minded). While the story can switch between hilarious and very dark and surprisingly serious moments. Keep in mind the whole Rance universe is kinda messed up and despite how Rance lives his life, I would call him more a "chaotic neutral".
My only real complaint is the UI. It feels outdated and is not really userfriendly by modern standards, although the old school aesthetics have their own charm and immediately remind you of late 1990s early 2000s PC games.
If they could add achievements this would be great and way more people would buy it too!
(When you launch the game be careful it's very loud so change your audio settings if they are high)
Sengoku Rance is an absolute classic and one of the best gameplay-focused VNs. Huge thanks to MangaGamer, Kagura Games and of course Alicesoft for finally bringing Rance to Steam. Hopefully we will eventually get the entire series on the platform and please try to bring Evenicle 2 and DohnaDohna on steam... GOG has it so steam can have it too :D

Game is tough but rewarding (if all seems lost the game has a failsave build into it, just keep going), music slaps and is headbanging good, the character design is memerable and unique, the story switches from ridicules, charming, serious, humor is well made.
its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sengoku rance what else can i say, game is slowish so i suggest playing it at 2x speed with cheatengine and your set to go and conquest!
first playtrough is ALWAYS the true ending, after that you unlock "what if" szenarios that are fully fledged out that have unique endings and storylines to them and one even offers a new game mechanic!!
