Otterly Lost isn't remotely challenging. There's no health bar, no breath gauge, no enemies, nothing. It's just you, your map, your most favorite rock(s), and a bunch of collectible accessories. It's essentially just one big fetch quest, but unlike the typical slog that ruins otherwise good RPGs, it's merely a loose plot thread that gives your explorations an occasional dopamine hit. There's no pressure, no rush, no fixed order to anything. It's just good vibes and fun times. I still have a good ways to go on it, but I'm in no rush to be "done" with this game. Even after I inevitably collect it all and finish the story, I fully expect that I'll keep coming back to roam around the island for the atmosphere alone.

It's a very chill collect-a-thon game that feels like it'd be a good choice for a kids first game, since there are no threats, and the challenges are all pretty easy. It isn't ground breaking, but it's cute and it was fun to play, my only major complaint is Otto doesn't run on all fours even when sprinting. I love the design of all the cute friendly animal characters you meet in your journey aswell as their different quests they give you. When first looking at the map I didn't realise that it was going be that big filled with different locations and interesting places to explore its so creative.
I love the fact you can customise your otter character in cosmetic shops scattered around with animal shop keepers or even finding clothing hidden in various areas of the map.
You unlock cute little tools to help with puzzles aswell as collecting items that will help some of the animal characters.

I highly recommend this game to anyone and everyone especially people who likes more chill calming games similar to slime rancher or paleo pines

This one nails that feeling for me, it feels like a perfect mix and expansion of A Short Hike and Smushi Come Home. The world is just so beautiful, the music is perfect and the characters are so loveable that you really want to help them. This is one of those games I'm gonna beg my friends to play because it's really something special and the developers deserve this game to go crazy viral and earn a bazillion dollars. You meet nice ocean and land guys like a big Whale and Owl. The Dolphin was funny. You can wear a tie and goggles. Jumping and climbing was fun. You can get a glider. Everything is very simple and chill, no damage, no rush, just moving around and grabbing stuff.

Unfortunately, the pace is too slow for my taste and you're immediately slapped with 'collect x materials' without too much context. The controls are shown for a few seconds on the left bottom and you see it if you pay close attention. Aside from that, there is no other explanation of what is exactly possible like upgrading your stone or why you're collecting shells as currency.
