A little frustrating at some points but overall I love it. hopefully it gets more updates and continues to get better :) I think a sandbox/creative mode would be fun to mess around in and of course a pacific/Italy campaign would be fun as well. 9/10 fun times\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t(UPDATED) 6/10 in it's current released state as someone who's spent 16 hours in demo with another 30 hours (counting) on the full release, maybe pushing a 7/10 for how cheap (especially on sale) and the current amount of content in the game for it, with the record of constant updates through it's EA life cycle (now we gotta see post launch).
The Good:
-Gameplay: Wonderfully done making you feel like a big battleship / dreadnought of sorts and the cannons, bombs, etc feel raw enough which is what I want (especially with little additions like their recent fire one which I didn't get to experience in the demo, saw some destroyer on fire for the first using 500m+ pen cannons with my ship the "BRICK", A.K.A a giant aircraft carrier with like 30-50 planes, cranes, miniguns, big cannons, etc), the feel and weight of ships seem to match up even when trying to turbo boost my AC with U-boat engines and large props (didn't affect much especially when upping both armor and weapons, and also my ship seems to sink fast when heavier so more armor might mean less pen from more rounds... But torpedoes? One hit and you're done basically, which is both a good and bad thing as I'll get one in a bit.)
-Performance: Runs well on full settings (no RayT) for a game not support for mac (a negative) running through crossover on M1 Pro.
-Graphics: Finally this I guess even though it kinda goes with performance. Game looks good with the shading, sun res, game design itself with ship building and their models, all of it looks good from a GRAPHICAL and MODEL standpoint. And will also say this game doesn't need fancy destruction as some other negative reviewer wanted (probably will feel to robloxy / cheap), maybe some more high quality pngs and effects, maybe a possible outer layer hull destruction mechanic breaking one or so outer hull blocks triggered by larger cannons (and spaced out to void "balding the ship", like if there were multiple shots causing that mechanic, they should have a limit of how close they can be to avoid entirely exposing the core of the ship.), and it could look red, hot and firey which I could imagine looking insane especially with the raytracing.
The Downsides (sadly already):
-Ship Building / Editor:
1. Needs major QOL and fixes, where to start? Perhaps aircraft carriers and how this game's poor ship editor slaughtered my previously mentioned the "BRICK"... How you might ask? One armored deck block was accidentally deleted out of the 200-300 or so blocks... And what happened as a result? The flight deck going from it's original (and presumed maxed out plane take off speed) "operational status" at 2.5s a plane, to "non operational" and 10s a plane speed, and then back to "operational" BUT now at 2.6s a plane... Why? Because 1/3 of my plane on both ends don't count as a flight deck anymore despite all of them being connected obviously and nothing else changed, this happened once before but luckily I could revert it with CTRL+Z but now my ship was already saved and I didn't make any new duplicates so Imma have to spend MORE HOURS fixing up the ship... Which I won't as it's just a cheesy design built just to win the campaign to play the game more like a sandbox and obviously to try out steam workshop builds (will get into)...
2. Looking top-down to select deck guns or aircraft with box deletion mode or "select" mode will inadvertently grab, copy, or delete every deck layer, internal armor plate, keel block, ETC all of it underneath. We desperately need a "Surface / Top Layer Only" selection mode designed for weapons or surface hull only.
3. Finally other tools are also mid / inadequate for their purpose I.E "zoop mode" pretty sure only builds across X and Z planes but not Y / vertically, so if this is the case then building large hand crafted hulls requires large amounts of tedious time, that's why I simply just do the load hull thing and build / delete off of it. Also for one of my other builds which was a submarine made from the smallest loaded hull, wasn't mirrored correctly for some reason and is off center? (like the blue mirror line was centered perfectly and is now like, one block to the left or right which made copying weapons and such impossible and had to manually place everything) Game is a bit wonky.
-Campaign, Systems / Ui, Maps, Lack of replayability: Updated this part entirely to be more concise.
1. Idc about the little story being a 10/10 blockbuster or mid. But the lack of replayability, maps, gamemodes both in SP and MP especially, systems etc is lackluster and made me wanting for more but this is a cheap game but still... I already beat the campaign with most of my time in the trashy builder. All it is - beat mission, spend money after lighthouse, edit a ship to be stronger so you can beat the campaign and unlock everything which takes a while JUST TO BUILD whatever you want because the LACK of gamemodes and choices in this game. No sandbox mode or anything, you must spend hours beating the game just to build a steam workshop ship or have any sort of fun, you MUST GRIND.
2. Also my quarrels are with lack of gamemodes in content in general this game could use procedural maps / encounters, endless wave defense game modes, different mission types (other than just fighting out in the ocean, coastal bombardments, and capture the point is the only 3 mission types), workshop missions, something (we might get any in updates). Also forgot to mention but I feel like the Ui is a bit outdated / feels robloxy, might be fine to others but just my opinion.
Submarine Gameplay: Many issues with sub gameplay as a WHOLE despite following the "official guide" and trying to respect the density "rules" with the first number being below zero and the second above, even replicating their same exact density formula amount of "0.77-1.09 g/cm3" and also altering it to varying degrees with the ballast blocks, armor, weight, etc. The sub or atleast small agile subs even with added weight, periscoped, etc will often do "humpback whale breaches" with the front end (also subs will often do a death spiral to the "end" and die when submerging and turning a bit much no matter how hard you try to stay still and resurface or anything).
(UPDATE BAD): 1. Actually the multiplayer server experience is awful, sure latency / ping isn't an issue but after playing a few more matches... People will join in and the game will randomly freeze for 1 to a few minutes, and then kick everyone out who isn't host.
2. Multiplayer is just a PVP FFA where you pick to choose to spawn on the map to respawn for the rest of the game till host leaves, you do, or game freezes.
Nitpicks-
1. Planes kamikazing themselves into the water during launches (I know it's due to turning sometimes or whatever but even by themselves they can do flips / twirls straight into the water or even the deck lol, with lots of room to take off mind you in my 100k+ AC.
2. Armor stacking doesn't exist (putting armor on surface and in hull doesn't stack armor values, but it will certainly keep the weight and supply cost if you accidentally build with armor instead of hulls.) and also the block replacer tool is the only "surface level ONLY" tool.
3. Would be cool to be able to build our own planes like bombers and such like how I mentioned there should be steam workshop missions / maps and such, I've seen the "blimps" and such on the workshop (poles connecting it to a hull in water)
Anyways that's my experience with this game so far. Mainly making this negative review also to catch the devs attention like a sore thumb in the deserved waves of positive reviews, maybe will buy another copy and keep playing with my bf in hopes the dev fixes the game atleast in the building / editor department and such, could add more to say like fixes or cool to add but already hitting the limit lol.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Can't say much more because I'm having issues on my specific system. Linux runetime crashes every second or third battle, switching to proton GR, latest or experimental results in game not saving any progress nor showing any stuff from workshop.

I spent 3 hours working on a ship only to save it and try to use it an have it tell me parts I have are not unlocked yet and deleted my entire ship... it even deleted my duplicate I tried to make. But everything I have is unlocked via gameplay no mods or nothing so it basicaly just deleted my work cause its bugged. I wish there was a way to fix that such as dont make it auto delete the entire thing just whatever component is bugging out. Cause till next update I wont be on here as that has really pissed me off to spend that much time only to have the game delete my work.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Whenever you want to move or place the same block, you have to open the side menu and find it again, place it and COLOR IT, well, did you think you could just pick a color with a color picker tool? no, because you cant, you have to find the right color in the horrible tiny palette every single time.
If the editor gets updated over time, I will leave a positive review. And as for the rest of the game, its simple, its fun.

As everybody else yes I do in fact want more community ships and more weapons but one thing I would very much like is a rocket turret. Idk like maybe the nebelwerfer but something that fires unguided rockets. And although missiles would be cool I don't think something like a SAW or a Seawolf missile would be suitable and I instead would support something like a catapult that fires V1s with a limited degree of maneuvering or maybe just for giggles the V2 because yes it would pretty much one shot any ship but maybe give it a large bulky launch pad area so we can carry multiple (It would be wildly inefficient compared to aircraft) and make it a vertical launch pad (Horizontal would be too strong I think) and this strategy could be very easily countered by a few well placed C-WIZs and I would make them actually capable of being shot down by normal anti air due to the V-2s size but yeah I don't mean to write a thesis or anything just know I love the game and am always excited for the next update.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
