The puzzles vary in difficulty, but there are certainly tons of them in this game! The story arcs presented as days in this game are well-written, and certainly add well to the lore. The gameplay is probably to smoothest yet, and the artstyle is very pleasant to look at. I will be honest, I didn't figure out the last achievement by myself, but it was certainly still fun to unlock it! It was awesome to finally play this game now that it came out, and I hope we continue getting more great Rusty Lake games in the future!\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

I DO NOT COMPREHEND why Rusty Lake, a game series that has relied on suspenseful silence and pictograms for communication has all of a sudden become a HAND HOLDING, DIALOGUE DRIVEN GAME. Instead of having a character hold a glass and look annoyed while another character snores, or it having the THINKING BUBBLE that has been a key part of the games aesthetic, I now have to BE TOLD VERBALLY that the snoring person IS KEEPING ME FROM THE NEXT STEP IN THE CHAPTER. There is CONSTANT talking. I DO NOT PLAY THESE GAMES IN ORDER TO BE TALKED AT. The lighting is weird and feels ingenuine. There is no way for me to tab out of the games to keep notes without the CONSTANT MUSIC being paused, and the new, implemented notebook is horrible.
Now, let's talk achievents, These are LOCKED IN PLACE by certain actions throughout the chapter (mind you some chapters are about 5 steps long). In the old games you were always able to get the achievement whenever during the confined chapter as long as you had the proper inventory and steps completed, but here, for example, there in an achievment that FIRST required you to trigger an action fom an NPC, THEN, you have to pick up the specific item, BUT IF YOU PICK UP ANOTHER ITEM RELATED TO THE NPC BEFORE TRYING FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT THE NPC WILL NOT INTERACT AT ALL WITH THE ACHIEVEMENT-ITEM. I am used to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around and finding out when playing, but here I'm constantly looking up in which order to pick things up so that I don't lock myself out of achievents,
The "you can now drag stuff"-mechanic is being introduced like we've never seen it before but it's already in a lot of the games. With the difference that you can't "click move" or "click interact" alongside this. Items that need to be dragged *need* to be dragged. Items that need to be clicked *need* to be clicked.
Now let's talk about the puzzles. I'd say 80% of them are not intuitive at all. I just started replaying the old games in order to see if I've just lost my touch but they work just fine. Somehow, in leaning so hard on dialogue for some of the components, there is now less trust put into us as players. The puzzles in the old games rely on our ability to deduct as well as trial and error, but a lot of these are just "if it looks like it's slanting, click the thing it's slanting toward". Or the awful singing puzzle which had me turn the volume all the way down because for some reason the character has to have an entire little soundbite AND animation when you get it wrong and it resets.
The things you can click randomly for achievements or items are impossible to tell apart from random things that just have an animation when you click them. For example, if there was an achievent in one of the older games for petting an animal, you'd get a different sound and animation on the third click as a hint that you're on to something. In this one, for the achievement of petting the horse, you just have to keep clicking and pray that you're not wasting your time.
I get that the studio is trying new things, but I REALLY hope that this is not the direction that the games are going to follow in the future.

This game feels completely inferior to all the previous games of Rusty Lake. The mechanics changed, you can't look around in the room, there is no adding elements to create new ones, the puzzle are obvious. And the story doesn't have that eerie surrealist feeling where you have to puzzle yourself what actually happened; the game just spells out the story for you, and without that narrative, the bizarre parts loose their purpose. It just becomes an edgy mechanic with no sense. With all of this changes it becomes just another puzzle game, a good one probably compared with normal puzzle games. But not a Rusty Lake quality puzzle game\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

I also think the game’s length is more than enough for a game like this. If it had been longer, it might have started to lose its charm at some point. With every new Rusty Lake game, I feel like they manage to improve and take things to the next level, even if only a little, and I hope they keep it up.
