Firstly I srsly dont care what u think about the game or more importantly my review/opinions so comments like that are ignored. I only bought this game for boobs and fan service and expecting decent action hack n slash. Thats what the game only was for me first and a few hours in.But idk when something clicked and I couldnt stop playing. The mood/ambiance of the game and bits of the story is very Nier Automata and u cant escape that so if thats a vibe killer for u dont play this game.
On the other hand if u like that kind of stuff u really should give this game a try. I keep my "reviews" short and to the point. Its for ppl whos unclear on if they should pick up the game or not. (As was I before i bought the game,finished it then wrote this review). The story somehow kept me hooked the more I played even tho some characters and parts are very cliche theres also originality and a strong sense of identity to this game I think. Even if its clearly inspired by Nier and a few other games.
PROS:
1. VERY cool unique looking bosses,fun to fight and challenging enough (even sometimes on story mode.)
2. The games music from start to finish in every part of the game is top tier and soul healing. I
couldnt stop listening and lots of songs got stuck in my head.
3. Super fun to build EVEs gear and getting the upgrades related to the story as the game goes on.
4. Combat animations (especially EVE) and the feel of the hack n slash gameplay is addicting.
5. Nice fan service lol. With cutscene camera angles and the hundredths of sexy and cool looking suits to collect.
6. Alot of enviorments and scenery are real intricate, well made and straight beautiful,and had
me just admiring it.
7. Theres even some horror "Dead Spacey" lite elements troughout the game in terms of enviromental story telling that I really appreciated it feelt very cool and kept me on my toes. And I dont even like horror.
CONS:
1. Theres ALOT of unnecessary boring/frustrating puzzles.
(Slides with too many obstacles, slippery plat forming due to the games controls not the players fault. locked doors/generator looking things that needs power up before u can contuniue progressing. Alot of eyerolls on those ones.)
2. Depending on what type of person u are some story characters can be cliche, boring or straight up dialouge skip worthy. The game could need stronger personalities to contrast with EVEs robotic persona. Lily dosnt count, I like her but shes too much sometimes and kinda child like. (typical for East asian games)
3. Why is there 2 desert like areas? we only need "wasteland" and I was tired of that area after 1 hour of gameplay.
4. Let us chapter select after end game like NIER? I know theres NG+ but its not the same thing even tho I appreciate it also. Its fun to be overpowered after struggling on first play trough.
5. Theres no "save game" option ur stuck with save points and cant save for urself when u want. So sometimes if u came along way and near no save points and die u will cry and ragequit lol (probably.)
6. The gun u get early on and can then upgrade even at max is very weak and in boss fights near useless. Its a huge ahh gun make it feel powerfull. Especially at late game? youve earned it. It should also have been more ways to use it like different gun types then what we had in game.
Theres alot more i can say but trying to make this readable for ppl who wanna know if the game is worth it or not and not spend 2 hours looking things up. This review is for regular people/gamers not fancy or overly pretentious for the sake of it Hello skill up/ACG gaming. :)

The tedious mini games and awful platforming and puzzle sections are not really enjoyable and feel like a messed up Crash Bandicoot sections.. The game overall does not respect your time.. the last 7 hours endgame felt like standing in line at six flags.. just waiting the the action..
The story and the cutscenes are so boring, it is actually hard to comprehend for a normal person..
Then the elevator music throughout the game is another massive trigger factor, I hated every second of it..
The skill tree is boring and uninspired and yet totally overloaded and way too complex and nothing actually feels rewarding.. same goes for the gear slots, which are like of the 5% more damage nature.. none of the earned skills feels meaningful.. beginner level enemies have the same annoyance level at the end of the game..
Only the chick provides a nice visual, without her, I'd probably quit this before reaching the end..
But the latter does not justify wasting your time on this..

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tStellar Blade is beautiful, stylish, extremely sensual, and completely unapologetic about it.
Let’s be realistic here: the story is good, the graphics are fantastic, the combat is satisfying, and the entire game is technically very impressive.
But I also think we all know that a significant number of players noticed something else very quickly:
EVE.
The character design, animations, outfits, body physics and attention to movement are very clearly part of the game’s appeal. Stellar Blade doesn’t exactly try to hide that, either. It embraces an openly attractive female protagonist, and personally, I have absolutely no problem with that.
In fact, for me, having a female protagonist is a huge plus.
The game was developed by SHIFT UP, a South Korean studio, and honestly, Korean and other Asian developers have a particular talent for creating games with incredibly polished character designs, stylish aesthetics and protagonists that are memorable for more than one reason. 😄
But reducing Stellar Blade entirely to EVE’s appearance would also be unfair.
Underneath all of that is a genuinely good action game. The combat feels responsive and stylish, boss fights are satisfying, the environments look incredible, and the post-apocalyptic science-fiction world has enough mystery to keep you interested in what happened and where the story is going.
The soundtrack and overall presentation also deserve praise. There are moments when the game looks and sounds absolutely gorgeous.
And yes, the visual side of EVE is very obviously part of the experience. The outfits, animations and physics were made with an enormous amount of attention, and pretending nobody notices would be ridiculous.
But here’s the important part:
the game would still be good without that.
The fact that it also happens to feature an incredibly attractive protagonist is simply a very welcome bonus.
So whether you’re here for the combat, the story, the visuals, the sci-fi world… or perhaps for some slightly different reasons — I’m not judging. 😄
If you’re a guy, play it.
If you’re a woman, play it too.

The character design, animations, outfits, body physics and attention to movement are very clearly part of the game’s appeal. Stellar Blade doesn’t exactly try to hide that, either. It embraces an openly attractive female protagonist, and personally, I have absolutely no problem with that.
In fact, for me, having a female protagonist is a huge plus.
The game was developed by SHIFT UP, a South Korean studio, and honestly, Korean and other Asian developers have a particular talent for creating games with incredibly polished character designs, stylish aesthetics and protagonists that are memorable for more than one reason. 😄
But reducing Stellar Blade entirely to EVE’s appearance would also be unfair.
Underneath all of that is a genuinely good action game. The combat feels responsive and stylish, boss fights are satisfying, the environments look incredible, and the post-apocalyptic science-fiction world has enough mystery to keep you interested in what happened and where the story is going.
The soundtrack and overall presentation also deserve praise. There are moments when the game looks and sounds absolutely gorgeous.
And yes, the visual side of EVE is very obviously part of the experience. The outfits, animations and physics were made with an enormous amount of attention, and pretending nobody notices would be ridiculous.
But here’s the important part:
the game would still be good without that.
The fact that it also happens to feature an incredibly attractive protagonist is simply a very welcome bonus.
So whether you’re here for the combat, the story, the visuals, the sci-fi world… or perhaps for some slightly different reasons — I’m not judging. 😄
If you’re a guy, play it.
If you’re a woman, play it too.
It’s simply a damn good game.

This game truly understands what reactive combat is like, and how to make proper execution feel good.
While I found many of the abilities in the character customization "not necessary", i had the points and bought them anyways. I pretty much had two beta and burst skills I used mostly through the game. Of course, this game does throw a bunch of niche skills (for sneaking up on people, aerial attacks), but many of them are very fun.
The game also has a reactive system where certain colors will flash, showing undodgable / unblockable / demanding directional dodge inputs. If you follow up on your button timings with any of these, you will flashily be able to execute big damage on your opponent, rewarding you for correctly reading your opponent and reacting to your own success.
This game also starts introducing new mechanics until the very end.
You have probably 2 people that are side characters you regularly talk to, and theyre pretty fleshed out and charming, just not alot of screentime. Its mostly Eve and the comms. Alot of the side characters, when they appear, are pretty fleshed out, but nothing to write home about. Some interesting storylines around them most of the time.
This game absolutely gives you a bunch of customization for your character, from hairstyles, ear pins, to cosmetics.
Some of the side quests are boring fetch quests, some of them give story and good rewards.
All of the characters voice acting is really good, though their facial expressions seem to be better at some times than others.
This game will also throw twists and turns at you in its game, similar to Nier Automata:
Examples:
with certain sections disabling your melee weapon.
Certain sections you have to platform.
Other sections, you have to "Surf" on your weapon down a long corridor, making it more like subway surfers or something of the like.
FYI, for these ratings, I consider 5 being average, not 7 like most people perceive.

Pros:
The fighting is super satisfying and fun when you use everything you have- the drone, blade, and mines etc.- then pairing it with different exo spines and gear sockets.
The soundtrack/OST is unbelievably good imo; a lot of people hate on it, but it slaps to me.
The story is a very slow build, and it leaves you mostly questioning and theorising, which I find fun, until later in the game things start to make sense and catch on.
Customisation is pretty decent; Eve looked like a blade-wielding badass in the jeans and biker jacket I had on, plus earrings, glasses, hair, nanosuits, etc.
The DLCs are cheap and relatively worth it; Goddess Nikki minigames were fun, and it'd be better if there were more; the Nier DLC was just for more customisation.
The world-building and atmosphere were really good; same with the graphics in general. Eidos 9 was beautiful; the wasteland and desert are hard to make look nice. That being said, there were some really cool locations in them, but the first game was based in Australia for the story's beginning, so there was bound to be a desert or something.
The story itself was suprisingly pretty deep, but only if you read some of the memory sticks, i feel like most people would skip past it but they do truly paint a picture pf what happened when or before they died, some of its kinda crazy.
People also complain about the boss fights and enemies being too spongy and doing too much damage, which I find confusing, as you can just lower the difficulty if you want, down to story. I finished my first playthrough on normal, and it was WAY too easy to beat bosses and enemies; I only struggled a couple of times on the boss in the lounge at the spire. NG+ playthrough was all on hard difficulty, and even then, yes, I died more, but it still wasn't hard to take down enemies using what's available.
Cons: Fall damage is a little annoying as it's a bit exaggerated; some enemies are just straight-up annoying, yes, I'm talking about you, you stupid tentacle things and sand diggers.
Some side missions from the bulletin board are super tedious, like the photography ones, but you also don't have to do them.
Apparently others think the VA is trash; I don't think that, but it would've been good to see more emotion on some of the characters' faces when struck with insane or bad news, etc. Some of it was super monotone, which can derail you from the importance of the situation.
Character building felt a little rushed in some areas; it would've been nice to see it a bit more fleshed out. It felt like it was more just giving you what you needed to know; there were a few cool things you learnt above Eve as you played, and some NPCs had a good, fleshed-out story. But I think it deserved a bit more.
All in all, I think it's a good IP; looking forward to Blood Rain.

Overall combat is pretty good, though movement is a bit stifled. I suggest downloading a mod that reduces the number of uncancellable animations.
Some visuals are pretty decent and there are a couple of likeable characters.

It feels like the background soundtrack is there just for the sake of it, to make it feel more like Nier, which is a shame. The game has a variety (though most of it is desert wasteland) of environments and situations and yet, most of the time you'll hear the same background track dronning on. Which is a shame, because there are horror-like levels in this game, that would benefit from either having no background music or a completely different track that would compliment the atmosphere.
English VO is there, but you might as well switch to Korean or any other language that you don't know, because it's poorly translated and the VAs weren't given a proper guidance, so most of the lines sound incredibly awkward.
The story is heavily insipred by Nier and that puts it very lightly. There are some minor diviations, but overall it's the same gist.
You know how in the later stages of the story in Nier Automata most of the robots become less aggressive and allow you to explore the map at your own pace? This game decided that the best direction to take is to introduce an enemy at every corner. Traversing "open world" levels becomes less of a "run from point A to point B while enjoying the view" to "avoid enemy spam that's always in your way."
The visuals are very washed out, each environment lacks contrast due to heavy reliance on ambient volumetric and distance fog. It could be an artistic decision, but it only makes the main game areas look even more boring.
There's a very odd decision to separate character texture quality from overal texture size. Which creates tha jarring effect where Eve looks like a render made in Blender, while standing next to a rock formation from PS3 era.
Another minor gripe is that for some reason, when taking screenshots via photomode, the game doesn't hide the UI automatically, like, you'd think that this is how it should work, but it just doesn't.
I got myself a Nier DLC because it has a proper dress that doesn't look like a weird variation of a swimming suit or some other highly revealing article of clothing that's there to appeal to our primal instincts. Ironically enough, outside of the standard 2B and A2 outfits there are 2 far more questionable outfits in the bundle.
Honestly, the game kind of fails to deliver on interesting characters. Most of them don't have any build up or have a disappointing payoff. For example, Raven is buing built up as the first to find the truth which drives her to hate Mother Sphere, but at the end of the game it's revealed that she's gone full one Yandere mode for our plain-ass loaf of bread Adam. \t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThis is not me saying the game is all bad, it's fairly good. In short, it's a solid game but has a lot of things I don't like or are lazily implemented.
Too many things add up to lower the quality of certain combat encounters and the time in-between. Too much platforming, climbing, and super lazy open areas with repeat and lame assets. A lot of the combat would be improved if later hits of your melee combos actually stopped enemies and some bosses from striking you. Instead you can be mid swing and the enemy ignores the damage you do to attack. When you get in a combat flow it can feel very satisfying.
Eve has the looks, but is a boring protagonist who has dull voice acting and is unlikeable. The other NPCs and side were great actually.

\n\n\t\t\t\tToo many things add up to lower the quality of certain combat encounters and the time in-between. Too much platforming, climbing, and super lazy open areas with repeat and lame assets. A lot of the combat would be improved if later hits of your melee combos actually stopped enemies and some bosses from striking you. Instead you can be mid swing and the enemy ignores the damage you do to attack. When you get in a combat flow it can feel very satisfying.
Eve has the looks, but is a boring protagonist who has dull voice acting and is unlikeable. The other NPCs and side were great actually.

Parrying is core to fighting but it's so unresponsive that you have to wait for enemies' attacks in order to parry them instead of giving the player the ability to optimise offense before having to parry which would express skill and knowledge of the game. There are also color-coded attacks which require you to input specific commands to counter attacks, making combat basically a glorified QTE simulator. Hard mode exists but it's in the worst form which is to turn enemies into sponges.
There is also a so-called progression system in the form of a talent tree and gear upgrades but there are no meaningful choices to be made. The talent tree mostly unlocks "improvements" to mechanics such as easier dodges or easier parries but what is the purpose of that? Gear upgrades are similar in that you get flat stat improvements by simply progressing, So nothing interesting in the progression system either.
The story as well as the characters are extremely bland. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t6.5/10, you can really sense that this is a Gacha dev's first attempt to make a "real" game, and it copies way too much from NieR titles (and basically everything is worse in comparison other than combat itself). Great combat is sadly VERY often overshadowed by stupid menial tasks, dumb puzzles, or bad Unreal Engine platforming that all happen way too often, or weird decision to have levels where they outright won't let you use your sword and be forced to used clunky shooting instead. Storytelling was very mediocre, couldn't care too much about the world or characters, not to mention that I genuinely couldn't take the plot seriously when using any outfit other than default, Eve looks like gacha goonerbait in pretty much all of them (but collecting them is very fun!). Music really isn't as great as people say either but it's good.
Definitely no masterpiece but a fine game on sale honestly. Still interested in what they will cook with the sequel, definitely think they are capable of making an 8/10 or even better game if they just cut some of the strange gameplay mechanics and properly finish the game up, as even the devs admitted that they had to cut quite a lot of content in this game.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

EVE steals the show and it's fun to try on the different and often sexy outfits (even more with mods). It's a good port. The game runs smooth. Graphics are ok. The semi open worlds are OK, but bit annoying to travel through. Lots of puzzle and jumping puizzles to find, too. The Battles are OK, dash, parry and a lot of combos. End Bosses have an annoying and lazy one shot mechanic -1 point. It has 3 endings. If you struggle some accessilable options can help. I would give it 7/10\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
