I've played over 300 hours of Mistfall Hunter, so I think I've earned the right to say this: the game had potential, but the current state is a mess.
The concept is actually good. It's fun. Or at least, it was fun.
The biggest problem? Class balance.
The developers keep nerfing classes that don't need nerfs and buffing classes that don't need buffs. At this point, I'm honestly starting to wonder if they even know what they're trying to achieve with the balance. Every patch feels like they're throwing darts at a board and hoping something works.
And then we have the servers.
3v3 matches can be an absolute disaster. The more movement and action there is, the worse the performance gets. FPS drops, stuttering, lag... because apparently fighting three players at once wasn't difficult enough — you also have to fight the server.
Oh, and let's talk about the crosshair.
It's a tiny little dot that basically disappears during combat. Trying to aim while everything is happening on screen feels like playing "Where's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dot?" instead of actually playing the game.
Then there's matchmaking, which is probably one of the biggest jokes.
You can go into a match wearing blue gear and get matched against players wearing epic or legendary gear.
And your teammates? You can have 100+ hours played and get someone on your team who apparently installed the game five minutes ago.
Perfectly balanced. 👍
But the cherry on top is the in-game chat.
Racism everywhere. Toxicity everywhere. People openly selling gold for real money. And somehow, apparently, nobody gets banned.
Someone can be openly racist in chat and... nothing.
But hey, I'm sure that's fine. 🤡

If you're thinking about buying the game, I'm not going to tell you not to. The core idea is genuinely entertaining.
But don't expect this to be some RPG you're going to happily sink thousands of hours into. In its current state, I wouldn't recommend investing that kind of time.
And let's be honest: the player base has already taken a massive hit. A lot of players have left, and I don't think many of them are coming back.

I played with three classes WK, BA and SS. 400+ Kills, 58% WR and 700K looted.
Let's focus on what the game has done somewhat right:
1.- Six classes to choose from, each one very different from the other. 2-3 different builds per character.
2.- Combat training, jump in with friends or strangers and go to town to your hearts content.
3.- Engaging PvP.
Now, onto the bad:
1.- High skill ceiling, which isn't a bad thing. However, starting the game from zero and being unable to get access to your full kit right away is incredibly frustrating to say the least. Add to this, the fact that the entire community is able to and does play in the same first map/difficulty to essentially bully noobs in order to rack up kills and equipment, it's a miracle the player base has remained.
2.- Desync, doesn't happen all the time, but happens often enough, making it hard to PvP when you're teleporting all over the place mid fight, or worse, making you unable to use your skills.
3.- Bugs, you're in the middle of accepting a quest, some lizzard falls from the sky and hits you while accepting said quest, now you can't move or interact with anything, not even the Menu which has an "Unstuck" option that works half the time. Amongst others.
4.- Video and Sound settings are beyond awfull.
5.- No duos? like why?
6.- Only two maps available with Four difficulties. But in reality, everyone is playing Hallow Chaos for moneys or Hallow Normals to rack up Kills.
7.- The Economy/Loot system in this game blows.
8.- Scavenger hunt is a massive scam.
9.- I won't cry about class balance, because while I understand that in SOLO mode most things are alright, everything goes out the window in trios. However, Mages are just way too stacked at the moment and there is no way to stack magic resistance to prevent their insane damage.
10.- Training grounds: Why is there no option to set teams? Why aren't we allowed to change/adjust your build inside said training room?
11.- Good luck trying to figure out which AOE is friendly and which one isn't unless it being specifically communicated in comms.
I could go on, but I'd be beating on a dead horse. Really wanted to love this game, but the current state of affairs are forcing me to look elsewhere. Had my fun, done with it.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Their “improvements” have made the game more laggy, less responsive, less fair, less fun and much more annoying, even for casual play. The balancing is just as bad as if they’d had the balancing teams from League of Legends or Overwatch as their mentors...
At the same time, I miss support for the European keyboard layout, and DUOs. I don’t understand why the game only has solo/trio modes...such a shame. I hope they'll add a duo mode eventually, just like Elden Ring Nightreign did, for example

The combat is decent, and the graphics and atmosphere are good. Each class feels totally different, and the weapon playstyles are different as well. Overall, this could be a great game.
I don’t want to talk too much about class balance, as there are many issues there, and the further you get into the game, the more noticeable they become. But I believe those things could be fixed over time.

When I first read the early reviews, I didn’t understand what people were talking about. When playing solo, everything was fine, and even in trios, the game worked well for me. But after each patch, I feel like the game gets worse and worse.
Eventually, you start dying because of stutters, network lag, and performance drops. During fights, my FPS gets cut in half. It almost feels like a cheat — I can tell when people are nearby because my FPS starts dropping and the stutters become absolutely horrible.
And please don’t tell me that my PC is the problem. ARC Raiders and Crimson Desert run perfectly fine on my system.
Sadly, I don’t see this changing in the current gaming environment. People are already leaving because the game feels terrible to play. I also don’t see much incentive for the company to invest money into fixing the performance when the surveys are asking about things like how much you like the skins and what kind of farming features you would like to see in the game.
WTF? This is an extraction PvP game.
With all that in mind, I’m afraid this will end up being yet another project that wanted to become a live-service game but failed to keep its players.
I really hope I’m wrong. If the performance gets fixed, I will happily change my review.

Looked extremely promising in the beginning, after one month the overall game performance (connection wise) seems to have dropped by a lot, lots of inconsistencies when attacking and receiving attacks. The gameplay loop is extremely stale, every run is the same, gear up, go in, fight a mage, kill a mage, fight a shadowstrix, die, repeat.
Quests are insignificant, not even dedicated items or fetch quests, just go to a random spot (often recycled), interact and gg. Content is extremely lacking, borderline 0 enemy variety, the mistlords are straight up slop that spam AOE and not much else.
One could endure all this, if the PvP aspect of the game was promising! It is not sadly, the meta is disgustingly stale, in solos Shadowstrix is all you see, the moment you're winning they just dash 3 screens away in an instant. Trios are festering with mages; you could gamble your left nut that you'll encounter (at least) one mage in every team you encounter and you'd get away with your testicles unscathed.
Going back to the lack of content, the spells and skills for each weapon, while interesting, are sadly limited, while there is some room for experimentation, the combos are limited, painfuly limited. Also 2 maps on release is plain out embarassing.
Let's talk about the latest Soul Cocoon event! Positives: one new enemy! Negatives: enemies that drop soul coocons are nothing but reskins of existing enemies, the quest loop is just shallow, kill enemy, pickup item, drop item off, kill enemy, done!

If the game stays in its current state for too long without meaningful additions and improvements, I don't think the experience will remain as enjoyable as it is now. In games like this, simply not progressing over time can eventually become a form of gradual decline.
As an enthusiastic player, my biggest recommendation would be to expand the maps and, more importantly, give them much more depth. The current maps feel too few, too small, and relatively shallow, which can make the game become repetitive over time. Instead of simply adding more maps, I think existing and future maps should be much larger, more detailed, and designed in a way that gives players more things to do and more reasons to spend time exploring them.
One idea could be making maps multi-layered. For example, a map could have three or four different floors or areas, with each floor having its own difficulty, enemies, loot, and purpose. This could also help both newer and more experienced players. Newer or less-geared players could have areas suitable for their progression, while more experienced players could go deeper into the map for better loot and more difficult encounters. Players could then choose how far they want to push themselves.
I also think the game would benefit enormously from random events. There should be a large variety of possible events that can randomly happen during a match. For example, a specific boss could spawn, a special enemy could appear, a rare item or loot could become available, or a unique area could temporarily appear. Even if I enter the same map many times, I should still have a reason to think, "What is going to happen this time?"

Can't recommend this game, it has great potential but it's a very bland game at this point.
Combat is fine but there's absolutely nothing to do other than chasing players and killing few bosses. With only couple maps, you can fully experience this game in just a week and be left with nothing to do, if you're hardcore gamer then a weekend is all you need to fully crack this game.
I have very strong and good hunch that getting new maps and more content is going to take awfully long time. This game will be on a long standstill before we get ANYTHING new. All the updates for now are going to be just balancing this, balancing that, rebalancing what was balanced and so on. With how different the classes are, there will never be true balance where all of them are equally as powerful or useful.. It's not happening. And this will be their time sink for a long time.

The game is good and really addictive but they dropped the ball on so many things.
Camp upgrades.
There are only a few camp upgrades that are actually worth upgrading, probably about 3 while all the others are completely pointless to the point you could take them out the game and it wouldn't make a difference.
Scavenger squads rewards are no where near the expected rewards, these little guys keep all the good loot and leave you with crap. Complete waste of time.
Forge. The forge has been made completely useless by the auction. Why pay 2,000 gold to craft gold armour when I can buy it off the auction for 900. That goes for every single craft in the forge. Completely pointless camp.
Loot drops and raid cost.
Loot drops are terrible in this game. Trios loot drops are terrible. On average your getting about 2,000 golds worth each raid (don't listen to the "loot value extracted" is never near that number) if you die in a raid, to kit up on all blues,affixes,brew and heals your spending about 5,000 gold. If you die once it will take you about 3 good raids just to make up for that death. I play every single night for about 10 hours chaos and cat, believe me the loot is bad. Your just slowly losing money.
Bad balancing.
I know balancing Will always be an issues in this game but to ignore a major issue that's making players leave is absolutely ridiculous. The sorcerer has been a problem in trios since release and you have left it too long. Every game is double sorcerer or even triple. This game isn't about skill at the minute, it's who's got the most sorcerers. Didn't have enough time? Time for what? You have had feedback for weeks. Damage on AOE abilities are to high and mobility is ridiculous. Two things you have to change and that's it. Can't wait for this lazy patch this coming week because everyone is already expecting it to be terrible.
Love the game but unfortunately it will be dead within a month or two.

For context, I'm writing this from the perspective of someone who has put in 300 hours—around 80 of which I spent on SS before switching to Seer Blasphemer, which I still main right now.
First off, I'd like to give credit to certain aspects of the game:
Great visuals: I love the way the world looks, the animations, the color palette, and the dark fantasy setting in general.
Combat: The attack and dodge mechanics are really well done, alongside the fight visuals, choreography, and the system of attributes, talents, and skills. When I started playing back in the open beta, I was genuinely hooked on putting together a unique build and taking it out on runs to test it.
The classes themselves: Every class feels completely unique and engaging to play. I think anyone could find something to suit their playstyle (though right now that's borderline impossible due to balance—more on that below).
Loot system and camp progression: I still hold my breath whenever an unidentified item takes a while to reveal, and then boom—you see the chariot you specifically needed to max out your tavern level.
Story quests and quests overall: I really enjoyed the story and the lore. These quests made me feel truly immersed in the game world, actually caring about the struggles of certain NPCs.
Moving on to the cons (I could rant about this forever, but I'll keep it concise):
Servers:
Let me be clear: for the first few weeks to a month after launch, I was understanding. The devs clearly didn't expect such a massive influx of players, which led to freezes, rubberbanding, and hit registration issues (sometimes it wouldn't even register keyboard inputs). I'll even admit the devs were actively trying to patch it and doing everything they could. I put up with it, I waited, and I am still waiting for a server fix—even now, when the player count has crashed from 44k down to 4k. In this game, you'll deal with pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like randomly getting teleported straight into an enemy's attack just for laughs even though you dashed away, or your hits flat-out refusing to register on the opponent while their attacks magically land on you every single time.
Balance:
Back in the final beta, the balance was peak. Everyone was on equal footing, every class had counterplay against others, and if any class ended up overperforming or falling behind, the devs actually listened to the community and did everything possible to make the game feel better. (Dev feedback deserves an entire essay of its own, but long story short: during the beta, they actually listened; now, they've gone completely off the rails). Right now, balance patches just nerf weak classes and buff already strong ones. If you want a brainless, chill PvP experience—pick Withered Knight or Shadowstrix. If you want to suffer and get clinical depression—pick literally anything else.
Conclusion
Even with all these issues, I still like the game. For me personally, the time spent has fully justified the price tag, and I will continue playing for now. But if the devs don't do something in the upcoming patches, I'm dropping this game for good.

It is desycned to oblivion. Sound is off, animations are off, it doesn't register anything properly so you just live or die depending on the server not on your skill or outplay potential.
You can't progress after some point because for some reason devs decided to lock certain upgrades only if you play trio-matchmaking. If you are solo, well sucks for you!
