\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tAt the start the game isn't anything special. Some guns, missions and few rather boring enemies that just charge you.
But if you give it time to open up a bit (for me it was about 2 - 2.5h) it clicks.
First the fights get more chaotic, there is more and bigger enemies.
That allows you to discover first thing that makes the game special - the enemy organism. And it feels like an organism, there are different enemy types, but those are not important actually. The important things are: how armored the enemy is and what weapons are around.You can shoot off weapons from enemies, but then another enemy WILL pick it up (though you can destroy the weapon too).
Which means you are not so much killing enemies, rather you fight this rolling, churning amalgam of weapons, limbs and armor - it really feels like a living thing.
Not smart, mind you, but living.
Then you actually get invested in weapons you use, you find enough cool upgrades to start engaging with the upgrade system. It is pretty cool, though honestly I feel like I just scratched the surface myself.
There is roguelike mode, which cleverly allows you to check out more upgrades quicker, with smart system allowing you to buy out the upgrades you find in the roguelike mode in your main campaing.
The revive mechanic in coop is quite cool and unique as well.
When dead, player gets split into two parts (you play as robots, don't worry), and to rez a player you need to bring them together. It is very fresh approach compared to "stand next to them and hold a button" and fits exceptionally in the frantic running and gunning of combat.
Did I mention that dead player sees from their top half, so when carried you are awkwardly face to face with player carrying you?
Beside that it seems quite similar to deep rock galactic or helldivers 2 in terms of mission structure, with borderlands-esque vibe to the world.
Movement is fast and fluid and guns are a joy to use.
With the 1.0 around the corner I can't wait to sink many more hours into this.
I really wish devs would offer some 4-pack or something at a discount to make it easier to get ones friends onboard.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

I love the variety of missions that you can do and with different maps so it never feels like playing the same thing over and over. The characters are unique with their mobility and versatile with skills that truly make this a worthwhile co-op game. The lobby is fun as hell. My only critique is that the enemies can get a bit overwhelming and what feels like they know your exact position, but in a way it adds to the fun. I feel like I'm playing Borderlands 2. Enemies are incredibly accurate even at long distance, some attacks can delete your entire health bar, and fighting abominations and larger enemies is incredibly sluggish. there are three different swarm modifiers, outside of the difficulty(1-7) with the hardest being described as the recommended experience but I cannot see how this is the case. There is literally ZERO downtime in between swarms on this mode which would be fine if there weren't additional mission objectives some which require standing still. Unless something is done to address crazy, near unavoidable projectiles and attacks and make enemies feel more engaging and less bullet spongey I cannot recommend.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Playing for what must be over a year now I can attest that the updates to vehicles, hud/terrain overhauls and much more have not gone unnoticed, and the only thing I’m personally missing is an update to help prevent progression and loot loss on crashes.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI wanted to write this before the 1.0 version of the game releases, so here it is; this game is if borderlands and a random extraction shooter had a hate child that grew up to be better then both of them. the soundtrack, the weapons, the employees, are all what makes this game a astonishing piece of work, and it hurts to see that it isn't being praised more. hopefully that will change with the 1.0 update but as for now the characters and the world are so enticing. i bought Mycopunk when it first came out in early access, and i played it before that when it was available for the next fest. every update has been worth the wait, and with the discord they have it makes you fell like you are a part of the community more, but since this is a game that has you constantly getting stronger and stronger it gets a bit stale after a wile. but the devs have promised to fix this in the new update so hopefully they are correct. another criticism i have is that some of the weapons just feel boring to use sometimes, or not even worth it to use, the cycler and jackrabit being most of the problem for me, having an active xp system in game would also be nice to have. but with all that being said i cant wait to see what is next for this game.

The game from what I see is supposed to be a co-op arena shooter akin to Deep Rock Galactic but the game has little to no playerbase so you're mostly playing by yourself.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tsooooo this game seems really cool but apparently there is a well known bug with display ratios (Love it when my new game i buy looks like a mobile Ad) and even going into properties and inserting the right commands doesnt fix it. the only thing that works for me is swapping the game to my second monitor, and then it gives me the right aspect ratio.. and then i have to unplug my second monitor just to get to 1440p or even 1080p. idk how this isnt fixed before a 1.0 release, but very dissapointing start to the game.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

There's a roguelike mode that's great for target farming and trying out stuff as well as some hidden content. The gimmick of enemies taking up parts of other fallen enemies is cool but loses its novelty a bit albeit you still play around breaking off parts and destroying them if they're a bother. Overall, enemy diversity could be better. For bosses in particular, I'd love to see something like proper raid bosses.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

The game starts at full volume and goes into an unskippable movie that takes years to go through while subjecting you to the worst SFX for text I have ever heard in my life, along with a very loud hiss behind it. Then, without letting you go into settings, the game forces you into a run immediately. DO NOT EVER DO THIS TO PEOPLE IT IS DISGUSTING! Once I got into the options, it was apparent that I could not disable screen shake. There are some visual accessibility options, but not disabling screen shake is a deal breaker. Last but not least, there's no X-axis inversion. Some people invert X, and can't easily switch. I'll try again if there's major changes soon, but I'm already considering the refund.

Each employee (re: class) is fun and unique, and the weapons are great. Every weapon is interesting, and unlocking the weapon mods is a blast. Many of them legitimately change how their weapon feels to use, rather than just being stat upgrades.
Mission types are varied, as are the environments you undertake them in. Things can get pretty intense and challenging as you move up to higher difficulty levels, which I'm a big fan of. I love the challenge of a chaotic mission on a high threat level, and the feeling you get when you narrowly make it into the drop pod at the end is very hype.
Tinkering with your build is something I've spent hours doing in the hub area, which like the rest of the game is full of personality. Turning on the radio and messing around with your build while listening to the hilarious radio commercials is a very chill way to engage with the game before going on a mission.
