Don't Starve Together is the ultimate survival-adventure-sandbox-social experience that defies proper categorization thanks to its uniqueness and limitless different ways of playing it. And it evolves with you. Playing it as a beginner is a whole different experience of overcoming grueling challenges of harsh seasons and cruel bosses whereas once you become a seasoned survival, day to day experience becomes easy but you're thrown into a vast sandbox with multiple long questlines al lowing you to shape the world to your whim.
The game is also truly the definition of the labor of love description, as it's developers Klei, over the span of 10 years, have constantly been updating, improving and adding content, keeping everything fresh and new. To each their own but I think this game is best enjoyed at a relaxed, completitionist pace with friends where you meet up online over the course of multiple long game sessions slowly building and progressing. It is a challenging game at first but changes forms parallel to your experience, rewarding long term commitment and helping you meet wonderful people around the world. I have nothing but praise for the experience. It feels mostly like the older games, but with vastly more content, polished gameplay and refined characters (some of them have slightly modified traits when compared to their single player counterparts and also Skill Trees that offer extra perks, while those that don't most probably have their Rework / Refresh already underway).
I am still finding new things after 150+ hours of gameplay and, as far as I could tell, I will be sinking many more until I eventually reach to the Grand Finale. Most probably the game will be finished (both the content and the story) by the time I start getting to the end anyway... you know, the 'Uncompromising Survival Game' still lives up to its name today without a doubt. Oh, right! By the way, THERE IS multiplayer now! Going through this adventure alone surely will be challenging, but bringing some friends over will certainly make it more humorous.
The only thing I personally miss would be the characters from the previous games. Walani, Wilbur, Woodlegs (all three of them from Shipwrecked), Wilba and Wheeler (both from Hamlet) have stayed behind (maybe there's a reason for this that is tied to their individual stories?), but instead we got 5 (FIVE!) new characters in their place. Coincidence? I don't know, maybe Wagstaff knows... Also, now there are Cosmetics in the game! You can acquire those for free while playing the game. There's A LOT though so if you're a completionist then it will take a while... prove me wrong if you can!
Alright, I am going to wrap this one up right now since I can't wait to get back to playing so... just buy the game when you get the chance - full price or discounted, it doesn't matter - because you won't regret it! Or maybe you will, but you will still play anyway since you surely got over 2 hours of gameplay before even thinking of refunding this!

It's one of those games where you have to look stuff op on the Wikia to stand a chance, and even then, you will probably suffer an early death due to the hostile environment, or from a bad attempt at kiting some monster from a distorted fairytale.
I LOVE the art. The monsters are visually and mechanically creative, and the animals are very goofy. The devs also still add a lot of content for free, which is really nice! I do have to say it's become a bit much for me to handle, since I mostly played when it was somewhat newer, but if you like extra content, DST offers a lot, and also has good mod support, and a great modding community. I mostly use mods that make the game easier, if I'm honest, especially when I'm playing with friends, so that ressurect them more easily. This eliminates a game where one mostly watches the rest play.
