I completed the game in around 8 hours, and unfortunately, most of that time was spent doing repetitive tasks that quickly became boring. My biggest disappointment is that the actual gameplay is nothing like what the trailers made it seem.
For example, walls don't realistically crack or get damaged when you drill into them. The window repair system, where you use foam, is simply a repetitive mini-game rather than the more creative solution shown in the trailers. I didn't even cut a single door in half as the trailer was showing, in fact the door just spawns when you put in the door-frame.
One feature I was particularly looking forward to was forcing the fuse box to remain active, but as far as I could tell, that isn't even something you can do in the game, I expected high creativity and weird solutions I cannot do in real life, but the only thing you really can do is put on tiles badly.
The graphics are alright, but nothing special. The story is also extremely boring, and the AI-generated voices make it even harder to become invested in the characters or what is happening.
I waited two years for this game, which probably makes the disappointment even worse. I expected a creative repair simulator where you would have to solve problems in different ways and deal with realistic consequences from your actions. Instead, I got around 8 hours of repetitive mini-games.
Maybe the game will improve with future updates, but in its current state, I can't recommend it — especially if you were expecting the experience shown in the trailers.
Some jobs i even had to skip cause it just bugged, after the game was completed I tried to just grab things from the store and run out, but it had no consequencens so I assume money got no value.

What triggered me to refund ultimately was the use of AI music. Heard a few fake russian pop songs on the radio and then heard the tell tale fuzzy voice of the ai vocals and refunded.

paintings and furniture hang themselves perfectly level unlike the play test and trailers where you could intentionally hang them at whatever angle you wanted just to be funny
tile cutting is a nightmare and u break other tiles in the process and for some reason the game wont register u even layed tiles in the first place
installing windows using seal foam felt more like a forced minigame as opposed to a real in a pinch creative type mechanic
i really wanted to purposely cut doors down to funny angles but the doors just materialize and install themselves.

This game has been sitting on my wish list forever. I love house flipping type games and I thought this would be a really unique sort of spin on the formula. I had kinda given up hope that this game would be coming out, until just a short while ago when they announced the release date and put out a demo. The demo was good, no problem there... and it only made me want to buy the game more. Fast forward to the day of writing this, when the game was released. I bought it and started playing it with no issues until I got past the content that was in the demo. That's when I started experiencing some issues that impacted my enjoyment of the game.
ISSUES I ENCOUNTERED:
The first issue revolved around a cabinet I had to get from my backyard for a clients home. I was told to put the cabinet in the back of my vehicle so we could go to the clients house with it. I did and after a pretty long interaction with some children and a really awful lady, I went back to my vehicle to find the cabinet was not in there. I drove back to the house thinking it must have fallen out... but it wasnt there either.
SO... I reloaded my game. This time I emptied everything out of the back of the car, put the cabinet in and then drove to the location. I checked the back when i got there and the cabinet was there. So I went through the really long interaction with the kids and the old hag again and was told to go in the house and hang the cabinet for the client. I did as the instructions said, and when I put my cabinet down to drill the holes... The cabinet noclipped through the wall or the floor or something and into the backrooms. I have no idea where it is now... chilling with Pirate Clark I guess.
SO I RELOADED MY SAVE AGAIN. Emptied out the car... loaded the cabinet... drove to client... checked cabinet... went through kids and hag cutscene thing... and was finally able to put the cabinet up. However, in doing so somehow the physics for the hallway... a room I wasnt even in... decided to completely explode, throwing furniture... lamps.... boxes... etc everywhere. Whatever... cabinets up im gone...
So I go to the next job. This one had me needing to put tiles on the wall after cutting them to size. I did as the tutorial text said and the first tile went great. Every tile after that went through the wall and wound up on the floor in the next room... I gave up at that point.
MY RECOMMENDATION (IF YOU CARE AT ALL WHAT I THINK)
The game has a lot of potential and I am really excited for the future of it if the developers work on patching it... but as for now I would say this is a WAIT. I would not buy this until some work has been done to fix the overall buggyness... bugginess... (is that a word?). If you really want to play, I would stick to the demo as that seems to be working at the moment. The rest of this is so hard to get through due to issues that the developers need to address. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tSo, I’ve read most if not all previous reviews for this game (granted there were only 38). There are some complaints I actually agree with, some of my own, and some were probably fixed already because I haven’t noticed anything they were talking about.
First of all, and that’s vital for me, the game does not allow the player to rebind controls. I will not be able to comfortably play unless controls are made rebindable.
Second, this game desperately needs DLSS/DLAA. Native TAA is jittery and even though it doesn’t ruin the experience, it certainly looks bad.
The graphics are okay I guess, but for this level of visual fidelity the game certainly gobbles up quite a lot of performance. Although, and that’s important to notice, it seems to easily run at 90FPS (limited) without fully loading the GPU. So the low performance even on the top-grade hardware earlier reviewers were complaining about has been partially solved (granted, a 3090Ti is still a beefy card, but I’m also running maximum graphics settings at 3840x2160). I assume the game uses Urinal Engine 5, from how it visually looks (if it’s UE4 it’s definitely bottom of the barrel optimization still). Main menu runs at 37FPS for some reason – perhaps the devs had the attitude of the game’s protagonist after a few beers when compiling it.
Some sounds seem a bit quiet (footsteps) at 100%.
I haven’t looked into the game configuration files, as I only launched it for a brief test, but would love if the developer leaves them editable for people like me to fiddle with the settings.

Textures are a hot mess on Medium. Not going to play whack-a-mole right now with which specific setting they've got which cranks my GPU 40 degrees C between Medium and High, up to freaking 90+, but whatever it is needs to get fixed.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThe game holds your hand every step of the way, which is extremely annoying - I thought I was buying a "haha bad repair guy" sim or house flipper, but the repairs are done very cheaply style of game, instead I get forced humour, extremely linear gameplay, that feels like a tutorial (precisely why I refunded the game - it was 2 hours almost into the game and I still had not unlocked all the tools, and the ghost was telling me what to do all of the time). Sometimes I can skip dialogue / cutscenes, sometimes I can't, bugs me out.
Humour is overplayed. In the beginning, it's actually funny (I personally enjoy this type of humour), but it overplays its hand even in the first dialogue (with the grandma where you ask her where your house is). The next scene, with the drunkards inside the house isn't really that funny. And this trend continues.
Some objectives are very unclear. Let's say the job with the cabinets, one w/o windows, the other one with. The objective is "put it on the wall above the sink". Ignoring that it's basically telling you to put it on the ceiling (that's forgivable if it this was the only complaint for inconsistent instructions, I am not a native speaker as well), if you put it JUST ABOVE the sink, or more in the middle of the wall, the objective doesn't complete (one of the reasons why people say the game is bugged - it's not.) I also had the shelf disappear once, causing me to go back to a previous save, which took me back 5-10 minutes ( it would've been 2 if the sequences were not scripted to have to allow the ghost guy to finish his dialogue, which is unskippable if you're not in a dialogue scene with him ).
Let's take the fire station for example - clean out the sut. Sure, but how much exactly do I need to clean? Or fill in the holes - how much exactly do I need to fill in? The game would seriously benefit from more clear indicators.

Minor things that annoy me are invisible walls ( try turning left instead of speaking with the grandma in the beginning - bam, invisible wall, where there's a road straight ahead? ); Inconsistencies between dialogue and subtitles ( very frequent ). Absolutely no attempt at lip-syncing - the npcs just flap their gums straight in your face. I think it's excusable, but why are you putting them in my face and making me watch them just yap - it looks cheap.
I think this is an extremely interesting concept, I love the idea that you take your client's materials, that you take a shelf from your backyard to save some money, that you make the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ repairs for elderly people and they're happy, but instead we get a story focused game ( from what I saw in the first 2 hours, I stopped at fixing the playground ), with humour that overplays its hand, inconsistencies ( and things not being clear at all ) and unclear objectives. To be fair, I don't think I encountered any bugs, which is very commendable. The main issue with this game is just bad game design.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

I’m playing at 3440x1440 @ 120 FPS with the following settings:

Lighting Quality: Low
Anisotropic Filtering: Per Texture
Anti-Aliasing: FXAA
Shattered Objects: Medium
What’s curious is that the GPU power consumption is around 450–500W with these settings. I can’t help but think there’s a problem somewhere, and I doubt I’m the only one experiencing this.
I’ll wait a while and see if some performance updates are released. If the performance improves, I’ll gladly change my review to a positive one. Otherwise, I’ll probably request a refund. My system specs are listed below so everyone could see that there is no hardware issue on my end so far.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
