Tons of content and variety, lots of replayability, fun characters, great bosses, challenges, secrets, and the best part by far, synergies. It's a 10 year old game at this point, but it holds up very, very well. I don't often grind through achievements, but this one just hit all the right spots for me, and is thus one of my only perfected games.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Playing this felt like I was at the edge of my seat. But I also felt like I had to be at the top of my game if I wanted to make any kind of progress. And not only that, but I couldn't make good progress without finding a proper gun. The starting weapons were enough for the first boss, but not after that. It only got worse after the 1st chamber because the 2nd chamber bosses had phases where I just couldn't dodge projectiles, even with dodging. When I couldn't deal damage fast enough, it only increased the chance of eventually dying.
I fought the Bullet King like 9 times, and I beat it perhaps 2 out of every 3 tries. I fought the Gorgun boss 7 times, and I beat it twice after I learned to shoot it when it was off-screen. I fought the Trigger Twins at least 10 times and won only a few times. I fought Gatling Gull for who knows how many times and beat it perhaps half the time.
I found lots of different weapons, most of which were on par with or only slightly better than the starting weapons. Heck Blaster was the best: it almost guaranteed getting to the 3rd chamber.
I made it to the 3rd chamber a few times, but then I got killed by shooting wagons, goop, Lead Maidens etc.
I tried different characters. The Pilot's gun was awful, so I kept playing as the Hunter.
My whole progress during my playtime was that I found a few items and a character who looked like an old woman who told me she'd help out.
It's not fun to play when you get runs where you find four locked chests in the 1st chamber but not a single key. I like using the crossbow, but then I run out of ammo and I'm left with a rusty pistol. And RNG decides how many rooms I have to clear in the 1st chamber.
I like a challenge in a game; I play most games on hard difficulty or even harder. But apparently I don't like challenge enough, because this game feels like a challenge that isn't even that interesting. It's too hard and tedious. And considering that I got the same 1st chamber boss three times in a row, it makes me shudder to think that I might have to continue that same loop without much payoff.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
