\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThis game is awesome, the gun-play feels nice, the movement feels great (for the most part), and I personally love the gameplay loop. This genre is kinda new to me but so far I've been enjoying it. Just finished my first run and there are a few things that I think could be improved (Some spoilers to the story blocked by the spoiler text formatting*):

\n\n\t\t\t\t- The ledge climbing mechanic is a hit or miss, it feels a bit janky sometimes when you try to climb something (e.g. rooftops when you use the jump pads etc).
- There is a particular stage where I think a lot of players will experience some motion sickness. The stage that I'm refering to is the elevator stage when you reach the moon. The moving backdrop of the elevator going up will make some players motion sick especially when trying to find the stage time extenders (both the ones you pick up and especially the ones where you have to shoot from the ceiling/wall). A motion-sick mode would probably help the game be more accessible to some players (e.g. Making the force field wall for the elevator more opaque or enclosing it completely
- There are some missing textures (probs only on linux) on a particular stage. The first moon stage and the fortress moon stage had missing textures when the camera moved in a particular direction. The texture was replaced by a solid blue texture. This occurred to the moon surface and some of the fortress walls. Would be great if this was addressed as I think this game would make for an awesome steam deck game
- It would be nice to have the option to not automatically switch to the RPG and/or plasma(?) launcher after picking it up. There were times when I wanted to pick up either of those weapons but still wanted to keep shooting at enemies. Having to wait for the animation of switching between weapons makes the game feel a bit more sluggish than it should be imo.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tPerfectly fine and also completely unremarkable. It's basically the bot mode of a normal FPS game, except the maps here are smaller than most. There's no strategy to the maps either as enemies blink into existence everywhere so just keep moving and shooting non-stop. The graphics have that overly bright and bloomy Unity look with simple textures and feature poorly drawn anime girls, but I do like the enemies, they look like Cobra (GI Joe) grunts. Some of the maps (the city ones) are cool and some of them look like free starter templates from the Unity store, especially the opening map that you have to see every single time. Why is the simplest, ugliest map the one you have to see every single time?
Controls well enough, plays well enough, but it's hard to imagine getting more than 2 hours of fun out of this. I'm already hitting the wall at 90 minutes. Needs more weapons, more variety, just more to do than play the same few maps over and over.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

After beating the game once and fooling around in free play ill go ahead and collect my thoughts. This game is simplistic. You go in shoot, kill, repeat. Starts off a little slow but ramps up quick. Its similar to OG DOOM in a sense. Just dont go into the game with HIGH expectations.

its what you are here for. You start off with one character and start tearing through enemies. gunplay feels impactful. good feedback of blowing someone's head off. The melee combat character is is extremely fun with melee feeling impactful. You will be constantly moving either to eat, heal, or get armor while needing to balance getting kills to keep your combo meter high. You need to be aggressive but also know where you gotta go and NEED to go. A satisfying loop. There is a decent amount of enemy variation needing you to adapt and make choices. "Do i shoot the heli now with my smg? or do i wait till a power up spawns and avoid it until then" "should i focus down the heavy unit since it hurts alot but have more enemies spawn or take out the chaff then focus on the heavy possibly losing combo since there wont be anyone left to shoot while dealing with the heavier unit." "should i use hourglass now or later" i like how this game is very simple but makes you think as well. The movement can feel a bit clunky at times like the vaulting mechanic and the jump pads so it brings it down just a bit.

The boss is a complete letdown. just strafe left and right and its dead. Compared to the CHAOS of all the other fights. Its way to simple and dull

While i do think portrait art is pretty good and has a good amount of character. i do believe they can add a few more animations (taking major damage, healing, shielding, going on a rampage, ect.) The character select art and models art needs some work it looks like graphics you'll find as a place holder or to show the artist how you want it drawn. Its very armature looking. The reload animations and melee needs some work too. they all feel slow while the game is all about being fast. it clashes hard with the style of the game. Make it flashy and slow or speed it up. Itll help with the gameplay feel of the combat a lot. The maps dont feel super unique and feels pretty bare bones.

No ways to alter your appearance but you can alter your loadout to change how you play. i will say the changes do feel a little minimal at times and it does not completely switch things up like you would expect it to. Its good enough at what it does.

Its quick to "beat" the game only took an hour. What brings you back is a good combat flow, unlocking weapons/characters, and getting better scores. If your looking for something deep and complex this aint for you. You might be more interested in severed steel or echo point nova.

No ways to alter your appearance but you can alter your loadout to change how you play. i will say the changes do feel a little minimal at times and it does not completely switch things up like you would expect it to. Its good enough at what it does.

Its quick to "beat" the game only took an hour. What brings you back is a good combat flow, unlocking weapons/characters, and getting better scores. If your looking for something deep and complex this aint for you. You might be more interested in severed steel or echo point nova.

The main arcade mode is a bit ehhh, though. It's fine that it lets you exit at any time and change characters, but that also kills the actual stakes of the mode. The added objective maps are a downgrade from the usual time-attack stages: an even more routine way of dispensing enemies, lacking dynamism, which makes the whole last-moon stretch quite boring. The moon contains the weakest stage design in my opinion and it just makes it bothersome that you have to go thru it on every run. The terrain there is uninteresting, and combined with the character jump, it's often unclear what you can actually land on given the moon's uncertain geometry. The final boss is also a dud — not interesting, and the game never explains how you're supposed to gain rank in that encounter. Cutting the segment outright might genuinely be the better call.
The lack of a difficulty select is a real pain point: it makes training on higher difficulties not possible, and gives you a slow start on any map you haven't already logged on during classic mode. Because classic mode gatekeeps your access to difficulty modifiers and maps in free play, it also disincentivizes trying new characters there — their different playstyles can tank a run outright, and while you can always quit a map penalty-free, you're locked into your character choice until the run ends. The weapon unlock rate is too slow for a game that otherwise fizzles out fast and could use the access to them faster so you can find the most interesting combination for play. Past a certain point also, at higher levels of difficulty you're mostly just juggling a couple of go-to weapons, and you can only dent enemies past 400+ notoriety with constant power-ups and the beam cannon.
There's an obvious gap for a light practice mode — running the map enemy-free just to nail down pickup spots you can't properly scout under constant gunfire. And given how unique this game already is, official superplays from the dev would be a great addition: seeing their routing, shot placement, and heavy-enemy stun timing would give players a real ceiling to climb toward (could even be gated behind X S+ ranks, if they wanted to keep it aspirational).
I think most disappointing is that the game doesn't shake up the "mercenaries" arcade-shooter formula as much as it could have. It was done here correctly but the gameplay turns stale and the maps run for too long without any bigger interruptions to your game play style. Arguably not a popular mode to begin with, so if the point was ever to normalize it, official superplays would help a lot there too.

Krys is a very fun character to play, and all the other characters also have interesting gimmicks to play around with! The level progression is fun, being able to complete levels early if you do well enough is an excellent mechanic, and the Act IV/Final levels are great!
I have a few gripes so far with the game though. There's no text indicating how to unlock new weapons (Beat 10 scenarios, then 20), so leaving something there for new players would be nice! I also feel that the default sensitivity is way lower than it should be, and I feel 3.5 sensitivity should be the default instead. There also isn't an arcade game-mode in coop. It's not particularly necessary, but having the option to play through the campaign + fight the boss with multiple people would be excellent!
I also find that reloading is a bit of a rough mechanic. You have to go out of your way to reload, and while you can perform actions while reloading like kicking, it takes a little bit for the weapon to load. It especially sucks if you have two weapons on low ammo and have to reload on both of them. There's an unlockable weapon for Krys that fixes this issue (auto-reloads while unequipped), but not for the other 2 characters with guns. The time to reload also feels a bit finnicky, since there's a bit of delay between shooting and when you can reload. An auto-reload feature when you're not firing or a consumable that auto-refills your default guns would be nice!

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tAfter a slog of AAA games and modding others to oblivion, I found a game that doesn't require any of that. Its fast paced gameplay loop is really arcadey and addictive. I think it's worth the price for something that feels like its made with passion. The game can feel repetitive sometimes but that's after awhile of playing. If I leave and come back later, I'll start grinding on it again. My only complaint is that some levels feel as though there's too little or too much that slow the pace down into just picking of strays. I'm hoping to see even more enemy variety that'll require different ways to handle them effectively and maybe abilities tied to characters to make each feel even more unique. My complaints: I was hoping to progress through the game with my friend but all I see is endless and deathmatch. Not being able to play through the story with my friend is disappointing for me. I like this loop of game-play just go in and kill. Like it's refreshing sometimes to have a tight game-play loop. No entire adventure just I decide these dudes are gonna die.
I even get to kill and eat chocolate pretty amazing. I also like that I can take down vehicles and people. I am not expecting a game of the year here. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI think this game definitely needs some work for sure. The gameplay loop is addictive and fun, particularly if you're a big fan of Serious Sam Survival maps.
Weapon variety is lacking, alongside with enemy variants for a true challenge. Movement is alright, but overall can feel bland. Maps have strong concepts but odd execution especially since enemies just spawn and drop in - not much strategy towards your survival.
I do think the price is a bit steep for the game in its current state but I also do think there are very strong overall concepts that don't make me want to write it off completely.
