Not entirely accurate, but close enough that you'll have college credit when you're done. Some things are made quite a bit easier than they would actually be, but for the most part the process is accurate and the visualization is spot on. There are even story lines to follow, so you aren't just hacking for no apparent reason either. I, personally am in love with this game. The game barely explains anything. Honestly it feels like 80% of it was made with AI. After an hour I felt like the game was just holding my hand without actually teaching me anything. But a couple hours in, on one job for some random guy, I encounter an international terrorist group that was expecting specifically me to hack them. After that I'm stuck doing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jobs for them because they took some random guy's sister I never even met. When they asked me to hack Interpol, I just closed the game. Zero desire to go back.

I went through about 10 attack scenarios and there really isn't much room for completing missions outside of how it exactly wants you to do it. I think there's a good game here but I might refund. Calling this the "Ultimate Hacking Simulator" is a massive stretch. As others have said it's not actually perfectly accurate although it does a good job at being close enough. The issue is that the game is basically just set missions that you have to follow strictly. There's no dynamic elements to it. You're hacking to change someone's grades, I wonder what'll happen if I change someone els- you can't, you change their grade and immediately the mission is done.
I'm hacking into someone's bank, what if I transfer their money to mi- you can't it'll just throw an error.
There is a tonne of elements here that make it feel like a sandbox but it just refuses to let you sandbox or give you any chance to actually sandbox. People that clearly should have lives on social media don't you're just given information that the game wants to give you.

I think there's a good game here but I might refund. Calling this the "Ultimate Hacking Simulator" is a massive stretch. As others have said it's not actually perfectly accurate although it does a good job at being close enough. The issue is that the game is basically just set missions that you have to follow strictly. There's no dynamic elements to it. You're hacking to change someone's grades, I wonder what'll happen if I change someone els- you can't, you change their grade and immediately the mission is done.
I'm hacking into someone's bank, what if I transfer their money to mi- you can't it'll just throw an error.
There is a tonne of elements here that make it feel like a sandbox but it just refuses to let you sandbox or give you any chance to actually sandbox. People that clearly should have lives on social media don't you're just given information that the game wants to give you.

It’s not like other people say—it’s not “real hacking.” I mean, it’s not completely unrealistic either, but it is **very limited, much, much easier than reality, and missing a lot of techniques and different ways of doing things**.
For example, it is supposed to represent a Linux system, but you cannot `cat` or `echo` files in the same way you would on a real Unix/Linux system. You need to add file extensions in many situations, which makes it feel more like a Windows environment than a Unix/Linux one.
I wish it were much more like a real Linux system. That would make the game much more interesting and educational.
The attacks are fun **as a game and as an RPG (role-playing game)**, but they are not particularly realistic. The game is also missing a lot of different operating systems and environments. I would have liked to see realistic scenarios involving **BSD systems, Linux systems, Windows systems, Solaris, and other Unix-like environments**, each with their own differences, weaknesses, tools, filesystems, permissions, and attack surfaces.
The filesystem structure also has some problems. `/home` is not `/root/home`, for example. Programs traditionally go into locations such as `/bin` or `/usr/bin`, not `/lib`. `/lib` is primarily for libraries. The developer should really spend some time studying the **Linux filesystem hierarchy and the Linux Standard Base (LSB)**, or at least how modern Linux distributions actually organize their filesystems.
Another thing I think is missing is more of the **culture and ethics of hacking**.
If you're going to make a game about hacking, it would be interesting to incorporate some of the ideas from **Steven Levy's “Hackers”**, particularly the hacker ethic: curiosity, learning how systems actually work, access to knowledge, challenging assumptions, improving systems, and judging things based on their technical merit.
But modern ethical hacking also goes beyond the classic hacker ethic. Real security professionals have to understand **authorization, full disclosure, privacy, consent, minimizing harm, protecting users, and accountability**. The game constantly tells you to use Lynx for this and Lynx for that, but whenever you search for a specific keyword, it usually returns only one exact line of information directly related to the next mission objective. It feels artificial and contrived rather than like you are actually searching through a real network or database.
The game also requires you to follow its intended commands and keyword usage with excessive precision, even when the correct input is ambiguous. This not only breaks immersion but also makes the game unnecessarily frustrating.
The lack of freedom also kicks in while you're working for the mission objectives. eg if you hack into a bank account containing $200k you cannot transfer the money to your own account or anywhere else. You can only send it to the specific account designated by the mission. And you get like what, 20$ as a reward for taking all that risks.. lol

You cannot reuse hijacked cookies, explore unrelated IP addresses, or take advantage of credentials discovered outside the mission’s intended objective. If you find an email address and password and try to use them to log into GoMail, you simply get a “not found” error. If you discover an IP address and try to hack it out of curiosity, you get the same result.
Almost nothing is interactive outside the boundaries of the scripted quest scenario, and that seriously damages the immersion. A hacking game should encourage experimentation, lateral thinking, and unintended discoveries. Here, the game constantly reminds you that the world only exists where the current mission requires it to exist.
The game is also quite buggy and consumes far more system resources than its relatively simple presentation seems to justify.

Logging in and out of bank accounts makes it very easy to lose your password in the jumble. I tried to enjoy this but it feels like an unfaithful take on a hacking RPG. Why am I sending phishing emails from my personal account, for example? And attempting to sign up for a new email account to send phishing emails with is immediately blocked by the requirement of another phone number. Surprisingly, the suspicion indicator did not budge when doing this.
I kept playing, and I have been bored out of my mind. The writing is terrible and lacks any sort of character development or story building. You log in, make an account on a LinkedIn clone, and just take random jobs. People will randomly reach out to you via email or messenger with no prior context. Nothing exciting to discover or learn. Some of the characters switch their writing style mid-conversation which is very odd, which comes off as though I'm talking to a new person. Boring snoozefest. I suppose this is all a byproduct of using AI tools for localization, as detailed at the very bottom of the game's description. Not impressive, however, as it really is just slop. The developer notes that they will do their best to improve the localizations for the full version of the game, however this is the full version.
I did find it neat that a lot of the tools are real and modern. But it did make it somewhat challenging to immerse myself in the experience since I was actively comparing the tools in this game to the real-world versions, and noticing how unrealistic they are.
I'm still pretty early on into the game as I accidentally left the game open. My 6 hours of game time at review is not a reflection of how much of the game I've actually played, and I'm probably closer to 3 hours of real time played. With that said, I don't think I will put much more time into this title. It is very disappointing compared to much older titles like Uplink, and it wouldn't surprise me if the entire game was developed with AI as it lacks any sort of charm.

The game runs very well with good "story lines" to each job you have to do with nice customization to your desktop to make thing simpler and nice to look at.
My only complaint is as mentioned previously, my knowledge to coding comes from other games this offers a wider span of code and i keep forgetting how to do things even minutes after doing it.
They do have a guide in the game you can keep referencing but most of the time it leads to dead ends and now I'm lost and confused on what my next step is to the job I'm doing. Its also very tough to look up the next step on YT or Google cause this is a niche game so there's no a lot of tutorials or explaining done to the current version.
All my problems of course is beginner to code related and not on the games end and just takes some time to learn and execute efficiently. Its a great game with high replay able aspects including base game and adding mods to it with an included multiplayer mode.
