The workshop content alone is basically a second game — RimWorld with mods is one of the best experiences in gaming, RimWorld without mods is still pretty great, and RimWorld with my budgeting skills is why I've never bought a single DLC. Those things cost more than my first two games combined.

For me, this was a game I avoided out of "Factorio Fear" (If you know you know) and when I played it, It was definitely on par for that expectation. There’s definitely a learning curve, but once you figure out the basic mechanics, the game just opens up. Every colony ends up being its own story, and there are so many possibilities that you can easily sink hundreds (or thousands) of hours into it.
And once you start adding mods? Forget it. The amount of content and customization is insane.
RimWorld is easily in my top 5 favorite games of all time. If you’re willing to push through that initial learning curve, there’s an incredible game waiting on the other side.
