\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tHonestly started off really good for the first little while. Patch after patch though they've power crept the enemies so badly that it just isn't as fun anymore. They watched a couple of streamers run some broken combinations and the devs decided it was better to ruin the fun for everyone over a handful of players. One of the act 3 bosses was redesigned into something absolutely atrocious that COMPLETELY negates like half the decks in the game and was supposed to be more entertaining and more approachable from the previous design. Removing cards from your deck got more and more expensive making turns even clunkier. They had a good vision, no idea why they've made some of the changes they have but its unfortunate.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tSlay the Spire 2 is one of if not the best roguelike deck builders i've ever played. The amount of passion and thought behind each card from its art to synergies with other cards is outstanding. Im 300 hours into the game and I am still finding new ways that cards interact.
The characters are all extremely fun and easy to pick up as well as to master. Each characters design is so charming in their unique ways to the point where I couldn't pick one character and stick with them because all the characters pulled my attention.
As well as this, Slay the Spire 2 has one of the best multiplayer intergrations that i've seen. The unique cards that multiplayer gives you creates so much insentive to try to combo and synergise with your party. I've poured at least 100 of my hours into getting in a vc with some friends and running up the spire.
As well as everything listed the game is stupid easy to run, I have a couple of friends with older PCs that I cant play too many games with and they were able to run this game easily.

The graphical style, the amazing beta art, the addictive gameplay, its all here. If you've never played either, I highly recommend StS1 as a mobile game, as its almost a superior way to play than pc lol, but you will absolutely want to start with StS2, its just the first game but more.
Please remember this is still an early access title, and cards, values, and combos are bound to be shaken up a few times by release. Don't be a cringelord who's salty and tries complaining about the unfinished game being changed to remove what was probably a overpowered interaction. The devs are fantastic for making yet another testament to what gaming is meant to be, a one time purchase that's so deep and fun that you'll spend tens to hundreds of hours playing it. Ever since it launched in early access, hardly a single day has gone by without me jumping in for a run. The character/enemy animations and the soundtrack are really good, and if you loved the first game, STS2 is the improved and more addictive version, proving to be a great piece of work and endlessly replayable.

A10 difficulty is excellent -- hard enough to really push me and make me make hard choices, but still playable enough that I can limp over the finish line with a bizarre, semi-functional deck sometimes. Many new mechanics are fantastic, leading to bizarre runs that work in ways you never would have expected. The two new characters are tremendous. Really love running Steam Link right off of my android (e/OS) phone to stream this game to it from my desktop, then switching controls to direct touch support and it responds remarkably well. I can play full sessions from the comfort of my couch as if it were a mobile game.

Excellent sequel, grows on existing systems from the first game, while change and adding enough to feel new and different without ever feeling bloated or overcooked. A lot of the best changes come from increases in efficiency/playtime (peak ascension is only lvl 10 whereas in STS1 it was 20).

And yet the sense of accomplishment when a deck comes together and you beat the final boss on Ascension 10 with 1hp left is genuinely unparalleled. There are *so many* interconnections between cards, groups of cards and strategic archetypes that I oscillate wildly between feeling like a total thicko and a genius polymath as I desperately try to hold all the possibilities in my head. The eureka moment when some game-breaking synergy clicks in and you suddenly see a card in an entirely new light is a total bottom panel of the States of Understanding meme situation. I can honestly feel my eyes glowing and light coming out of my head.

But make no mistake, it's as precisely engineered as a Swiss watch and the moments of cohesive victory are well worth thinking so hard your head feels like it's going to implode.
