That, at its core, is fine. If Battlefield Studios want to cater to a different market, there is no problem with that.
That said, as a long time franchise veteran, with thousands of hours across Bad Company 2, BF3, BF4, BF1, and BFV... I'm just tired, man. There are other reviews with walls of gripe about this game and those of them that mention previous experience with the franchise will all say the same thing: "this game isn't for us any more." The most glaring evidence of this is the removal of class-locked weapons, and even class-locked playlists. Gone, in pursuit of something very, very different.
The maps are too crowded, too small, or too directionless. Remade maps have been shrunk, or changed to fit one particular playstyle; run and gun. A particular gripe of mine is how redundant snipers feel now. Never mind that every single sniper that has been added to the game is worse than the starting one, never mind that there is an attachment that literally zeroes the scope for you, removing half of the fun of figuring out hold points, never mind that an M4 with a couple of attachments will burst you down over 500+m quicker than you can rechamber a round if you miss your headshot... nobody even bothers. I see no snipers in this game, and when I do, they're running a rangefinder. It's boring.
The remakes of Golmud and Firestorm? Boring. The small town at the top of Golmud, which was once a main thoroughfare that could be reliably held by a few well-placed engineers? Now a sprawling close-quarters arena, with too many angles to make defence a reliable option. Just let it get taken and attack again. All of the verticality, rocks that snipers could sit on? Flattened. There's one now, at the back of the map, obstructed by the same town with no view onto other objectives. Firestorm has been shrunk, and the petroleum containers on the right side of the map which once provided a little verticality are now destructible - all but guaranteeing that if you kill someone from there, they'll just get in a tank and blow it up so you can't use it.
This game makes me physically tired to play. I'm not young. I don't particularly want to engage with the fast-paced, "sprint around like a headless chicken" form of play that this game all but incentivises. I never did in previous games, why would I want to now? Why are you giving me no other viable option?
Look, if you like fast-paced close-quarters gameplay, then I'm sure this game is perfect for you, and I would encourage you to play it, to enjoy it. But for me, and so many others, who never sought that experience in Battlefield and knew that our playstyle was just as viable in all other entries to the franchise, even 2042 for goodness sakes... it's just not there, and it's clear that Battlefield Studios only intend to move further and further away from what this franchise used to be.

Because they've decided it on a whim, to implement absolute randomness. Even if you know a weapon's pattern, you're going to miss anyway + you'll still have the same network issues and lag compensation, because that does exist in the game.

Wish the the guns had more variety - many feel like downgraded clones of one another. That being said the gunplay itself is enjoyable. The shop also needs to go. Campaign is a sidenote to the game that is aight. Also the number of times bots are filled into a lobby is concerning.

1. Cluttered, overwhelming UI
The UI is an absolute mess. The screen is overloaded with icons, markers, popups, colors, notifications, and visual noise. It takes up too much screen real estate and actively makes it harder to focus, read the battlefield, and zone in on the actual shooting.
Instead of helping the player understand the fight, the UI constantly screams for attention. It feels less like a battlefield and more like a website filled with ads.
2. Weak map design
Good map design is nonexistent in BF6, especially from the perspective of old-school Battlefield fans.
Classic Battlefield maps had flow, identity, and breathing room. They had negative space, dead ground, dangerous crossings, quiet flanking routes, meaningful terrain, and places where smart movement and map knowledge were rewarded.
BF6 maps feel far more like chaotic arenas filled with clutter. There are fewer memorable routes, fewer clever infiltration opportunities, and less of that classic Battlefield feeling where a good squad could read the map, outflank the enemy, and change the entire round.
3. Too much spotting and information spam
One of the biggest problems is how much information is constantly thrown at the player. Enemies get spotted, marked, highlighted, pinged, and revealed so often that stealth, positioning, and clever flanking lose a lot of their value.
4. Too many modes, not enough depth
BF6 has a lot of modes, but quantity does not replace quality. Older Battlefield games did not need twenty different playlists because the core modes were strong enough to create memorable battles on their own.
Battlefield 2142, for example, only really needed Conquest and Titan Mode because those modes had depth, structure, and identity. BF6 feels more spread out and less focused.
5. The menus are a disaster
The out-of-match experience is also terrible. It is just a pile of dogsh1t. Want to customise your weapon? Go through a wall of menus just to find it. It is just an overload of opening and closing menus, messy, overly colorful, and exhausting to navigate.
It feels like every system is fighting for attention: progression, unlocks, store items, challenges, modes, events, and notifications.
The menu experience feels more like a live-service dashboard than a clean military shooter interface.
6. Cheater-infested experience
The cheating problem makes the game feel even worse. It is rampant in this game. Whether it is blatant cheating or suspicious gameplay that the anti-cheat fails to control, the result is the same: trust in the matches disappears.
In a game that already has too much visual clutter, spotting spam, and chaotic information overload, it becomes even harder to tell what is legitimate skill and what is someone abusing cheats. The multiplayer experience just becomes poisonous.
Getting constantly deleted by suspicious aim, impossible awareness, or players who always seem to know where everyone is makes the entire experience collapse.
7. Classes feel meaningless
The class system in BF6 feels almost nonexistent. Instead of strong battlefield roles that encourage teamwork, the game often feels like a clusterf*ck of individualism.
Older Battlefield games worked because classes had identity. Medics revived. Engineers repaired and handled vehicles. Supports supplied ammo. Recons spotted, infiltrated, or controlled sightlines. Each class had a reason to exist, and the team functioned better when people actually played their roles.
In BF6, that sense of class identity is heavily diluted. Players feel more like self-contained solo operators than parts of a coordinated squad. The result is less team cohesion, weaker squad play, and far less of that classic Battlefield feeling.
The only thing other players are good for is being mobile spawn points.
8. Voice chat exists, but teamplay does not
The game has in-game voice chat, but nobody communicates, because there is no need to. If you are looking for teamplay in public matches, it is not here. You might get revived by a medic here and there, but that is about the extent of it.
Most rounds do not feel like coordinated battles. They feel like random groups of players throwing bodies at objectives and hoping to overwhelm the opponent through chaos rather than strategy.
There is very little planning, very little communication, and very little squad identity. Instead of flanking, coordinating vehicles, defending key terrain, supplying teammates, or setting up meaningful pushes, most of the gameplay turns into a meat grinder.
9. Bot-infested lobbies
The bot-infested lobbies are honestly just funny at this point. This is Battlefield, a huge brand, and yet the game still has to compensate with bot players because it apparently cannot even fill matches properly.
When a game carrying the Battlefield name struggles to fill 32-player or 64-player matches without padding the lobby with bots, that says a lot about the state of the player base and the overall health of the game.
It also kills the feeling of a real battlefield. Fighting actual players is one thing. Fighting bots mixed into public matches just makes the whole experience feel artificial, hollow, and kind of embarrassing for a franchise this big.
I got the game on sale, so I dodged a bullet on that one. If anything, I feel sorry for any bloke who wasted his hard-earned cash and paid full price.
Side note: Hardcore mode is the only reason I haven't uninstalled this yet. Its the only redeeming quality.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

The biggest problem is the maps.
Battlefield was always at its best when it gave players room to think. You could flank, maneuver, set up ambushes, coordinate armor pushes, use transport vehicles creatively, and actually feel like part of a battlefield rather than a participant in a 64 player meat grinder. BF6's maps feel like they were designed by someone who looked at Battlefield and thought, "What if every map was Operation Locker?"
The maps are packed with out-of-bounds zones, funnel corridors, and artificial chokepoints. Every route seems to collapse into the same two or three kill zones where everyone is staring down the same lane. Instead of large-scale warfare, you're constantly being herded like cattle.
Spawn. Run 15 seconds. Die.
Spawn. Turn a corner. Die.
Spawn. Get shot from three angles simultaneously. Die.
Spawn. Watch a helicopter, tank, sniper, and assault player all somehow have line of sight to your exact location. Die.
One of the defining features of classic Battlefield was that if one route was blocked, you could simply go somewhere else. In BF6, "somewhere else" often doesn't exist. The map boundaries are so restrictive that flanking frequently means taking a slightly wider path into the exact same firefight.
The result is constant engagement with almost no downtime. That sounds good on paper until you realize those quiet moments moving between objectives, coordinating with your squad, setting up defenses, and planning vehicle movements gave the action meaning. When every second is a gunfight, the gunfights stop feeling special.
Vehicles suffer too. Tanks feel less like breakthrough weapons and more like oversized assault rifles trapped in narrow lanes. Aircraft have limited space to operate before hitting map boundaries or getting forced back into predictable flight paths. The sandbox that made Battlefield unique feels squeezed into a series of oversized Call of Duty arenas.
And let's talk about spawning.
Battlefield has always struggled with spawn deaths but BF6 takes it to another level. It's full of sweats with seemingly no life, constant vehicle spam and maps that are so badly designed that wins come down to the team spawn, not how you or team mates play and of course, as usual, EA doesn't care about the players, typical I know... If Battlefield 4 still had official servers I'd be playing that instead.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

1- Atrotious gunplay where your accuracy is decided by RNG unless you use Snipers or aim assist with controller. this isnt even the start of it, i could make a rant about the gunplay alone.(low projectile velocity, weapon sway, consistently poor weapon damage, etc.
2- Maps look good but play horribly, most cant even fit the vehicles they have and the ones that do are just an empty field where only using sniper is viable
3-Weapon progression is good when your guns aren't unusable at lvl 0, makes you want to stick to your unly decent gun that can hit something past 10 mts
4-Every class can use every weapon. Classes that traded offensive capabilities or utilities for exclusive access to a class of weapons now face classes that have extremely strong gadgets and are no longer limited by range or firepower making them essentially do it alls.
5- Unbalanced vehicles, MBTs IFVs are extremely fragile and require a lot of practice, while Jets and Helicopters can deal with all threats uncontested, SPAAs are straight up useless since radars stop dont work for targets at tree top level.
Thats all, buy this game if you want to be constantly frustrated by how ineffective everything is.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
