One thing I'm really impressed by is how active the devs seem to be for this game. Two patches in 1 month is crazy to see from a small dev team. The only thing I'm unsure on right now is Multiplayer. That might be unbalanced, but it's what it is... I didn't even think it'd have multiplayer.

Got to the level shopping spree, able to beat other levels on max difficulty, but this one just bodies you all of the time even on the easiest difficulty. If you look up any advice on it, the only thing anyone can say is 'just get better rng'. Levels that you just have to keep hitting the restart button on over and over and over again until you get a god tier draw are not fun, and are not how games like this should operate.
Yes, RNG should be there in games like this to challenge you, but you should never be presented with hours and hours of no-win scenarios because you didn't get the completely unbalanced super good cards 10 times in a row.

3 runs got to around turn 15-20 and then, crash. It just freezes and u cannot click anything. Now a crash can happen.
HOWEVER it's a-synchronous multiplayer so I should be able to restart the game. But u can only leave making u instantly last place losing all your gained rank.
So yeah the multiplayer doenst work and if that's what u got it for, dont buy it.

Part of why I love slay the spire is the look and feel and sound - things are satisfying. I am not a huge fan of 8bit pixelated graphics with iffy sound. but the gameplay carries it along as a decent roguelike.

The game runs fairly smoothy for an Auto-battler, isn't crazy intensive and plays uniquely enough that most players won't get bored if it immediately. Do I think its going to be a long term game, no. This i'm fine with much like other indie games I play (Against the Storm, Graveyard Keeper, Peak or The Last Spell) who all reached an end point and no longer need to give live updates every week, I feel this will get to that point.
Only thing I'd like is if they added the Chaos and Random cards to the Compendium. Also I see they're releasing it on phone and tablet, not sure we need that but I'm not against it, it is a simple enough cardgame I could see myself playing it on those platforms.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tFantastic ideas, wildly problematic execution. Conceptually, 9 kings brings a lot to the table and gets me excited about roguelite card auto battlers. But I can't say I have seen or played a multiplayer game as poorly balanced as this one. With such limited card selections, it's essential that the card combinations implicitly offer gameplay variety, and 9 kings fails spectacularly at this. One day of multiplayer and you will see that good and bad kings have at most 1 viable build, and the most excellent characters have at most 2. Every multiplayer royale is identical to the last. Single player is a masterclass in repetition, if it works at king difficulty, it works at king IX, you just need to scale faster. And quest mode forces you into specific pathways with little deviation, if any. 9 kings is only a roguelite in that it's run based, but it's the same game every time. The core idea is there and i hope the devs marry that better with the genre before the release. I have high hopes for this game's concept, but as it stands I cannot recommend to anyone.

So it turns out 180000 Level 1004 Executioners with 2.25e+300 Attack and Health, Jack of Rainbows is very broken and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do i love it. Game is very fun with a lot of things you can do and overall i recommend, tho its worth checking the demo first. And when you get tired of the main mode, there is a whole new quest mode to discover with a treasure trove of challenges. Is that not enough for you? The new async multiplayer is wickedly fun.

I loved it for that reason, all the different possible ways you can set up your area creates a game that is new every single time and almost never gets boring.
