You will probably never feel powerful playing this game, but that's not the point. This is all about struggling against unfair odds to win.
When I bought it, I let it get its hooks into me. I played nightly for weeks. I was noodling over what upgrades to unlock and which characters to pursue. Now that the save feature is here, I can recommend you let it get its hooks into you as well. The atmosphere is delightfully somber, and the art is exceptional.

Gameplay loop is fun for a while but when you have to grind the same clicks over and over to make the slightest progression with no decision making or skilful choices involved, it becomes rather tiresome.

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tAfter completing everything possible in this game I absolutely recommend it, The system is simple but excellent for a chill roguelike, the secrets you have to find along the way were a bit of chance but fully doable if you focused without having to do run after run, the characters are all great in their own ways though the warrior was a challenge for me, you start seein the best way to go with each of em and its enjoyable. The endings were all very interestin and is what made me determined to get through with all of them to see what else crazy could happen, and of course tha art style is a cherry on top of the cake and hilarious XD

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThis game is pretty dope. The art, animations, UI and sound are spectacular. The sense of mystery and wonder as you crack its secrets is enthralling. The RNG aspect totally works.
I do have two qualms preventing this from being one of my favorite games:
1. The artificial progress gating (literally) of needing to complete 90% of the game 3 times to unlock the final level was lame. It led to a pretty unfun midgame of grinding runs with the strongest character I had unlocked to farm money and wins. I wish there was more reason to experiment with different characters as you progress (more secrets only unlockable with certain characters?). Thumbs down on the gem-gated door.
2. I wish the gameplay/strategy was just a LITTLE deeper. Once I figured out the game and had unlocked most things (by ~10hrs in), all of my runs started to feel very similar. I want more reasons to keep coming back, trying different characters and builds. But the depth and variety isn't quite there.
Despite the above issues, I still highly recommend the game. It's weird, it's good, it's fun.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI have to start saying, I absolutely love this game, it could seem hard, but more than that is about the probabilities (%) rather than skill, this for me makes it very unique and one of the core reasons why I love the it, you're playing "against" the game, and trying to fight your way towards victory, in a way that makes the gameplay loop very satisfaying, bc you have to think about every decission you make, the order you kill the enemies, how to spend correctly your money, if is worth stayig in the room or trying to clean it, you're not given the tools to win, you have to earn them, so run after run when you start unlocking things, making each run a bit easier, and for me it feels more rewarding. I could go on and on and this would just me talking about the gameplay side of the game, bc other reasons why I love it is the art and design, every character, monster, boss, animation, even the way the UI looks makes everything feel so cohesive, that it was made with care and passion behind it. I feel this game is already so solid as it stands but at the same time it has so much potential, even outside the game itself, something like a short animated series, a comic, books, figures, etc; And I have to stop myself from writing bc as I said before, I could actually continue rambling about why this game is so amazing, even tho it can be frustrating, it never got to a point where I felt mad or that I wanted to quit, quite the opposite, I always wanted to go for one more run to see if this time I had the luck to go even deeper. If anyone from the development team has the oportunity to read this, congrats on making such an awesome game, and everyone involved should feel proud on how it ended up, I hope this isn't the end for Sol Cesto and we can see more of it in the future.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
