An amazing and worthy sequel to the first.
House 2 takes a wild leap in style abandoning the already impressive pixel art from the first for a beautiful and fitting drawn world without abandoning an ounce of the care put into each sprite.
There's not a single aspect of the first game that isn't called upon or improved here and it's nice to have that feeling of doing some things the same way and it still working out. It's a very similar experience that allowed me to relive the first game over again (albeit my last playthrough is still pretty fresh).
The world is far more expanded with characters o' plenty to the point that it kind of gets overwhelming trying to manage time for perfect runs (which is more just a me problem because I'm always trying to do it perfect).
Unlike the original House I went in almost completely blind here and was able to find my way around just fine and get to most the endings; however I have to note that once I reached The Sands of Time I, for the first time in this series, started getting really frustrated and not enjoying the experience. There were a few cool story beats that I enjoyed reaching, ̶b̶u̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶e̶n̶t̶i̶r̶e̶ ̶a̶r̶e̶a̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶j̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶k̶i̶n̶d̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶a̶ ̶p̶u̶r̶g̶a̶t̶o̶r̶y̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶b̶e̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶n̶e̶e̶d̶l̶e̶s̶s̶l̶y̶ ̶l̶o̶n̶g̶.̶ There weren't many threats, but that didn't make it fun. The Sun and Moon plates were especially aggravating as some were just out in the open, others were behind gates, and a few of them were just purely buried out of sight. Maybe I'm alone here, but I would've never been able to stay sane enough to find them all naturally and unfortunately there aren't many guides. If I were to have any advice here it would be to make the area roughly 20% smaller overall and, unless he is and I missed it, allowing Marty to go with you. Not every location needs to be hugging but trekking from one side to the other in that desert over and over and over just really sucks
At the end of the day House 2 was still a great experience well worth the $20 + whatever I'm going to be spending on those youtooz, just definitely a tad more tedious than the original.
Still though, I look forward to where you guys take us next, because after all, It Never Ends.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

It's like better than the first game even though I haven't played it but I did watch it and it and the and the hand and everything new about it is so much better than the first game. I mean the first game is also better and nicer by itself but House 2 just is awesome and I cannot even explain it. I really recommend this game to new players who haven't seen the I mean who played the first game but don't but then watch or I am just so what I'm trying to say is that I really recommend this game to players who who did play the first game but but who didn't play the second game or watch people play second game because if you just play like all new you don't know what's coming next you'll just get that creepy feeling and the game is really long by itself. anyways i really liked this game, it's more house. i liked house. wasnt too certain about how i felt about the art style shift when it was first announced but it's really grown on me during my time with the game.
all of my problems with this game have been fixed as of patch 1.0.8 so it's basically perfect as far as im concerned. leaving the rest of the review up for posterity
i will say there were a lot (a lot, a lot, a lot) of annoying little things about this game (especially in the areas outside of the house) that made me put it down a lot sooner than i was initially going to.
the mudzone is frankly completely terrible. it's so much worse than the desert it's unreal. just meandering in an massive area with absolutely no signposting or just, anything at all to orient you besides maybe a few patches of grass and to make things worse the whole area is like one texture. also if you die there you get sent back to the house and have to collect your pittance of bullets all over again.
im gonna put my armchair developer hat on for a second and just say that Maybe zooming out the screen just a little would alleviate some of the problems that I Specifically have with the mudzone. the tabby to screen ratio is frankly kind of wack there. i dont need to see her as much as i do the rest of the game, y'know?
