\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tIt’s basically Forza Horizon 5 with a new map. Sure, the map is beautiful, and the physics are amazing and genuinely fun to drive with, but those are pretty much the only good things about this game.
Downsides oh, and there are A LOT of them
Cringy AI slop dialogue: The dialogue is so cringy, forced, and unbearable that I literally had to go into the options menu and mute the dialogue just to get through it. It completely kills the immersion and makes some parts of the game feel like a bad AI generated script.
Unskippable cutscenes: You can’t skip the cutscenes, so you’re forced to sit through them over and over. Apparently, because they spent money making flashy, Hollywood style scenes, you’re supposed to watch them whether you like it or not.
Worthless delivery missions: Who thought driving through Tokyo delivering food was a good idea in a Forza game? These missions feel completely pointless and tedious. I bought a racing game to race, not to spend my time doing glorified food deliveries around the city. They add nothing meaningful to the experience and just feel like a waste of time.
Character customization over actual car customization: Want to customize your car? Naaah, apparently there’s something much more important to customize, your character. You get billions of clothing options and random accessories for a character you barely even see because they’re sitting inside a car 99% of the time.
At the end of the day, Forza Horizon 6 feels less like a proper sequel and more like Forza Horizon 5 with a new map, a bunch of unnecessary distractions, and more forced content. The driving itself is great, but everything surrounding it makes the game feel unnecessarily bloated and tedious.
Honestly, this is going to be my last Forza title. I’m done giving them my money until they get their sh*t together and remember how to make a racing game that’s actually fun and enjoyable. Maybe instead of adding more pointless filler, forced dialogue, and things nobody asked for, they could focus on making the damn game enjoyable to play. Until then, I’ll happily sit this series out.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

It was a decent game, but the latest update completely ruined it. The developers officially dropped support for older GPU architectures post-launch. Now, the game is completely unplayable. It crashes every 5 minutes with error code FHC11. I am completely locked out of a product I paid for, and Steam refuses to issue a refund because of my playtime. The developers literally stole $120 from me by changing the system requirements after taking my money. Absolute robbery. Avoid this company. I will never buy another product from Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios again. Everyone should boycott this game and these developers.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t \n\t\t\t\t

The good:
- Map is definitely the best, and is incredibly beautiful and fun to drive in.
- Car handling is a slight improvement from 5, but I wish they had made RWD more competitive.
The bad:
- The save/synch bug is incredibly bad and it is a total joke that they haven't fixed this yet. I lost hundreds of photos, liveries, and tunes because they insist on using the god awful Microsoft cloud.
- I am so sick and tired of the live service aspect. You are still forced to play weekly event after weekly event to acquire newly added cars, and this is a pure FOMO tactic to make it look like there are an inflated number of players every Thursday. IF I HAVE TO DO ANOTHER CROSS COUNTRY UNLIMITED BUGGY RACE, I WILL LOSE MY MIND
- I never enjoyed playground games that much, but they were at least a lot more fun than eliminator. These people somehow think that every game needs some stupid ******* battle royale mode. It's honestly incredible that this mode made it into this map, it is incredibly awful.
- We were promised more customization options, and this has absolutely not happened. Some examples of Forza aero on certain car models, are in fact, somehow worse. How is it that GT7 has an impressive car roster (slightly smaller), but they at least offer much more grounded options for each car that don't butcher the appearance?
- Who was the galaxy brain behind that awful and grindy food delivery mode ? I don't necessarily hate the idea of the mode, but the execution was awful and is the second most unfun thing I've ever done in a racing game behind only the eliminator.
- Why are there so many cross country races, and buggy races, for a game that is located in Japan? Where are the togue races? Where are the street races? I find it incredible how they thought a simple copy/paste from the past 2 games was sufficient.
- What ever happened to utilizing car meets? Nobody ever uses them, we can't walk around and explore other peoples' cars, I just don't get why this was advertised. It is so disappointing that they haven't found a solution to making this an actual feature.
- Dev team has been incredibly radio silent compared to previous generations. Maybe this has to do the higher ups at Microsoft, but there has been literally zero community involvement or communication since release.
- Nobody wants a ridiculous Lego or Hot Wheels expansion. Give us 2 expansions that are grounded and are part of the base map. Stop doing the same basic format over and over and over again.
- The car pass feels like a complete rip off in some ways. Including cars from past games, and then charging for said cars, feels very very scummy. Especially since we cannot see ahead of time which cars will be included.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

As I am approaching 100hrs of playtime, I have to say that FH6 is better in quite a few areas then in comparison to FH5. The map of Japan in my opinion is absolutely stunning and amazing in comparison to the dry, boring and bland Mexico desert map that is in FH5. I love exploring Japan’s sights, nature & taking photos and smashing the adorable yet funny looking mascots. Theres also plenty of landmarks and areas to race, events and other things to do as well. The cherry bloom’s in the spring are absolutely stunning as well to drive through and whip past.
Even though there is considerably less cars in FH6 compared to past editions I feel that there are a ton for me to drive and choose from. But more and more are gradually being added through playlist events etc.
The controls and handling seem to be improved as well in FH6. The cars do not seem to be as loose and drifting all over the place, at least in my opinion and experiences so far. I play exclusively with an Xbox controller, and it overall works well. I did play with my G920 Logitech wheel a few times, and being able to steer and control cars with it, seems to be much better than FH5 and FH4 in my opinion.
As I am a slow progressor and like to take my time in leveling up and unlocking things in games, I have to say as I purchased the top tier VIP package, it is pretty easy to unlock cars and etc with really no challenge or difficulty whatsoever. I wish PG games would make things and events just a bit difficult and not spoon feed players. There also should be more interesting and exciting events and not copy and pasted or repeat cars coming over from FH5 and etc. These are really my only drawbacks for now when it comes to my own criticism of FH6.
Overall, I feel that FH6 is a good racing game. Yes, it does need improvements and things to keep the game fresh and interesting but, in my opinion, I would recommend it.

Word of advice: Do not rely on cloud sync alone. Make manual local backups of your save directory regularly, or you risk losing weeks or months of progression overnight with zero recourse.

If you've played any of the previous entries then there's honestly no reason to fork out money to buy this one since it's the absolute same gameplay wise but with a somehow worse live service and an even bigger price tag. Unless you play with friends the online is terrible, cross country is still dumb, dirt races are mostly on tarmac, they somehow made the auction house even dumber, customization is so insanely lackluster and downright sad for a game set in a country with such a rich tuner scene and the cars themselves have been lazily implemented and often feel samey.

But it was a really great game, and I really enjoyed driving around. The map is truly beautiful and huge, making the driving really fun. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tIt's a hard choice to recommend against this game and despite my absolute love that it's a Japan setting. It fell short - very very quickly. I should also note I finished this game mid August, so it's a late review
To begin with the positives; It's a breath-taking world and love that we finally got a Japan setting, the colours and contrast and the views are outstanding, the details are impeccable and the cars sound and feel amazing. Plus it's nice to have a journal that gave you things to max out to keep you busy - however that's all I really have to offer for compliments.
The bad;
- To start there's too many offroad races.. in Japan.. I don't get why since I want to race on the roads.
- The nerf of the levelling was way too much. I got to about level 31 before the patch and once I loaded in again I got to level 100.. I understand it was speculated or confirmed getting to max online level would take several hundred hours but nerfing it so much so that after a quarter of the grind I reach max level. I feel like a long progression would've made sense anyway given the games take years to develop and come out.
- The lack of / not long enough drifting zones. Now I'm aware as I write this they've pushed an update for drift attack.. that brings out 1 track. Why only 1 track? It's silly. The game is based in Japan and the core fundamentals of car culture just ain't there or fleshed out.
- The same thing of new cars being added as DLC cars despite being in previous games. Silliest thing I've seen. Why not just have these cars in the game at launch?
- Seasonal Activities. I don't know if it's just me but I get so so bored and find them extremely tedious. Only did them for the sake of the 100%. Especially the ones that get you going against hardest AI with.. actual.. people. Or the eliminator. It just feels like one big chore and almost every week I found myself doing it on the last day with a few hours to spare. The ONLY joy from it was trying new cars and builds but beyond that, I feel like the system needs a change.
**Onto my biggest point though as is the biggest complaint for most I believe**
- Car customisation. While there is some liberty walk, there's just a crime for the lack of true customisation on cars. I understand it's no NFS title, but again - we're set in Japan here! I want to see loads of bumpers and side skirts, spoilers, and customisation to the lights or something. That was the main catch for me with this game. I was excited to customise cars to my hearts content and imagination like I was a child again but only with a handful could I do that. So I just fell out of love for this game which is such a shame.
Just based on these factors and the blow with the customisation, I can only recommend against the game as it's the same as the previous games that just gives drip-feeds you that little bit more with each game, Similar to the 2K games. I was expecting way more from 6 with it being in Japan. But alas, no luck.

If the game crashes or there's a power cut during gameplay, there's a chance your save file will get corrupt locally and on the cloud, and Forza Support will not be able to help you recover your collection like cars, in-game credits, liveries, tunes and online progression, xp. Altough your online rivals leaderboard time will be present on their servers. As a workaround you can do a manual backup of the save files present in "C:\\XboxGames\\GameSave\\pgs" to some other folder and in case your game is corrupt, restore that "pgs" folder back. But do this every time you successfully close the game so that you don't backup the corrupt version :P
Otherwise it's an amazing game. Very immersive and beautiful open-world. Every week there's new content. If you like racing games, you must try it!\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tUnbelievable waste of beautiful map and overall location. We arrive in Japan, the country most known for crazy tuning, drifting culture, togue racing and car meets. But as soon as we login to the game we greeted with stupid amount of dirt races and gymkhana events...
1. Where are the crazy drift zones? Half of what we got are on dirt.
2. Why there is only 5 touge races? There so many climbs to mountains but we got 5 of them.
3. Why lobby is only for 12 people? All meet zones are empty.
4. Wheel spins in 2026? The game just throws a bunch of super cars in your face instead of normal campaign with interesting characters and good progression.
5. Where are tuning parts? I'll take 20% of current amount of cars but give us cool tuning parts for them. Making decals gets boring very fast.
6. Why we are not teaching new people how to drive and racing etiquette? Online racing is completely ruined by rammers...yet again a normal campaign would solve this issue. Just copy what Grand Turismo does with driving school events.

🟥 The biggest problem is that the world doesn't feel like a living multiplayer environment. You enter the game, drive around Japan, and often feel like you are almost completely alone.
🟥 Convoys are mostly empty. The problem isn't only how many players are online, but how players actually use the open world. It feels like a large part of today's Gen Z audience has little interest in actual car culture and instead uses the fastest cars purely for showing off and feeding their ego. Instead of changing cars, experimenting with different builds and driving interesting vehicles, almost everyone picks whatever is currently the fastest and then races everyone else to every destination, even when the activity is called Cruising. This completely kills the feeling of genuine car culture and makes the multiplayer repetitive and boring.
🟧 There are no proper cruising servers/rooms. There should be a system for public and private rooms where the creator can create a room and clearly describe what the players are supposed to do. You could have dedicated JDM rooms, classic-car cruises, night cruises, touge sessions, drift rooms or simply relaxed cruising with no racing.
🟥 Car Meets are a good idea, but the execution is poor. When you enter a Car Meet, you can basically only browse the cars. You should be able to properly see other players, their cars and actually participate in the meet together. If players who are not inside the same Car Meet are completely separated from the experience, it destroys the feeling of a real car gathering. Playground Games itself describes Car Meets as part of the Shared World, intended for showing cars, meeting players and starting Convoys.
🟥 Three consecutive seasonal events gave me almost no reason to keep playing. The cars being offered are not exciting enough, some have already appeared before, and others are simply cars I have no interest in. Seasonal content should make you think: “I need to play this and get that car.” Instead, it often creates the opposite reaction.
🟥 New cars and content don't leave a strong enough impression. The problem isn't simply the number of cars. The rewards and new content need to create excitement and give players a reason to return. Officially, Series updates are planned on a monthly cadence with new cars, features and additional content, but in my personal experience that still isn't enough to make the world feel alive.
🟥 The collision and player-protection system is poorly designed. Players can be protected from normal collisions under certain circumstances, while other players can still ram you at high speed, hit you from the side and push you around however they want. Because of this, you can't always enjoy a normal race without trolls deliberately ruining other people's races.
🔴 I completed practically all of the story content in one day. I completed the entire story mode and obstacles, earned the Golden Wristband and the golden story logo in a single day. After that, there simply isn't enough content keeping me engaged and giving me a reason to keep playing.
🟠 There are too many cars and rewards that simply don't feel meaningful. The number of cars alone isn't enough. The game needs interesting cars, interesting builds, events and activities that make players feel like they have achieved something and give them a reason to continue.
🟢 Drag Racing is one of the few things I genuinely like. There is no feeling that the game artificially favors one player. The starting lights and countdown work equally for everyone. If you arrive too late, you cannot simply join a race that has already started, and new starts appear very quickly. Drag Meets are also part of the Shared World and support 12 player slots.
🔵 But multiplayer needs more different ways to play. Shared World already includes Car Meets, Drag Meets and Time Attack Circuits, while new activities such as Drift Attack are also being added. The problem is that all of these systems need to exist inside a world where players actually want to stay, socialize and use their cars in different ways.
⚫ The GPS/navigation is also seriously unreliable. It often sends me in the completely opposite direction on the highway, through barriers or toward roads that are obviously inaccessible. For an open-world racing game, navigation should be one of the basic systems that simply works.
🟣 The fuel system has potential, but feels unfinished. Refueling mainly becomes relevant when you don't use Fast Travel, but there is no proper animation or feeling that you're actually stopping at a gas station. The idea is good, but the implementation lacks depth.
🟫 The map feels empty and lifeless. The cars and infrastructure are there, but there aren't enough activities happening around you to make Japan feel like a living automotive world. Some areas feel almost abandoned.

🟠 There are too many cars and rewards that simply don't feel meaningful. The number of cars alone isn't enough. The game needs interesting cars, interesting builds, events and activities that make players feel like they have achieved something and give them a reason to continue.
🟢 Drag Racing is one of the few things I genuinely like. There is no feeling that the game artificially favors one player. The starting lights and countdown work equally for everyone. If you arrive too late, you cannot simply join a race that has already started, and new starts appear very quickly. Drag Meets are also part of the Shared World and support 12 player slots.
🔵 But multiplayer needs more different ways to play. Shared World already includes Car Meets, Drag Meets and Time Attack Circuits, while new activities such as Drift Attack are also being added. The problem is that all of these systems need to exist inside a world where players actually want to stay, socialize and use their cars in different ways.
⚫ The GPS/navigation is also seriously unreliable. It often sends me in the completely opposite direction on the highway, through barriers or toward roads that are obviously inaccessible. For an open-world racing game, navigation should be one of the basic systems that simply works.
🟣 The fuel system has potential, but feels unfinished. Refueling mainly becomes relevant when you don't use Fast Travel, but there is no proper animation or feeling that you're actually stopping at a gas station. The idea is good, but the implementation lacks depth.
🟫 The map feels empty and lifeless. The cars and infrastructure are there, but there aren't enough activities happening around you to make Japan feel like a living automotive world. Some areas feel almost abandoned.
🔥 For a game that is supposed to celebrate Japanese automotive culture, I expected much more life on the streets. I want to see people cruising, making spontaneous meets, changing cars, driving different classes and simply enjoying their builds — not turning every encounter into a race to the next destination.
💀 The biggest problem isn't the lack of cars; it's the lack of meaning behind those cars. Car culture isn't simply having as many cars as possible in your garage. It's about giving players a reason to use different cars and creating a world that supports that culture.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
