90's-themed experiences that mimic not just the style but the feel of old-ass computers I grew up with - the screen tearing, the lag, the less-than-crisp audio, it is ALL here and feels really well-done. I really enjoy reading lore (I have read close to every in-game book in the Elder Scrolls series, I can recall some TCG flavor texts by heart) and also being a know-it-all for someone with a problem, so it was easy to love this game. Read the artbook though and dude, are you me?? When I was in the 4th grade, my dad had a friend whose older son played Dungeons &amp; Dragons, and when I visited his home once he let me borrow a book I couldn't keep my eyes off of - it was a bestiary of creatures. I had no clue what most of the stuff in there meant, since I had never played the game, but I absolutely adored going through all the rich descriptions of these weird little creepos and admiring their funky art styles. This game really did remind me of that experience, and also reminded me a lot of a book I remember being equally entranced by in my public library - Gnomes, by Wil Huygen and illustrated by Rien Poortvliet. It's like a biology book for gnomes, good ♥♥♥♥. Anyway, I was excited to play this after Forbidden Solitaire earlier this year - these are such ambitious and earnest games, thanks for reviving the best parts of my younger years spent at the The art is amazing, The lore is SPECTACULAR, The sound design is awesome, the music is great, and the gameplay is fun.<br><br>I wouldn't really call this a horror game, but it is very creepy at spent reletavie time gaming i can safely say that this is one of my favourite games and despite completing it i definetly see myself going back and enjoying a couple of solo rounds. This game is both unique and worthwhile. All the way from the different characters to the audios and creativity in the thrilling plot of this game. I personally enjoyed the numerious &quot;weird&quot; entries along with the wild dangers and solutions they come with. This game is extremely interactive and challenges your perseption of danger and how to prioritize problems. The graphics are very intresting as well, all the way from the 90's monitor interface and the video/audio quality. Since there is no time limit in the base game I read a bunch and actually learned something new about common pests. Getting the “good?” ending was easy, but my inner perfectionist didn't let me stop there, and I just had to see all those coupons.<br>This game is for someone, who pays a lot of attention to details and has a good memory. By the end it got a bit hard remembering everything (leprechauns amiright), but it felt rewarding getting the answers right.<br>DLC is also nice. Very whimsical and adds some really interesting critters. Worth it in my opinion.<br>Unfortunately this game isn't very replayable, unless you are an achievement hunter, despite having an endless mode. Hotline. It creates a wonderful world of creepy fae creatures and tasks you with identifying them in what are essentially tricky, but quite fair, puzzles. I wouldn’t say it’s ever scary as much as it is very creepy, with some of the creatures you investigate being chilling conceptually, and a great analogue horror atmosphere throughout, but no big scares to speak of. The Seasonal Worker DLC is also good, though it takes on more of a comedic tone for much of it, and I did notice it felt less polished in some areas. it was ......... tedious. There is nothing in this game that is scary, sure the monsters or anomalies are odd or mythological creatures but not scary. The game offers minimal input where you only need to read description for hours (3h) and wait for the next call.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       You basically can do the same thing by reading the SCP online forum for hours on end. I'll give credit to some visuals or pictures that looks cool...... but besides that, it's hardly a game that I enjoyed.
