If the first game was clunky in intentional way, now the game is clunky in VR interaction way. (opening a drawer/closet is such a pain now).
The visuals, while it is more vibrant and detailed than first game, feels incomplete and inconsistent.
The shadow effect looks quite off, and glitchy (updating every 2 seconds? is this supposed to be "anomaly"?).
The game does not feel responsive, and I feel like the game is lagging, even though the FPS is high.
There were numerous times I had to shoot more bullets into the enemy because the enemy would take a whole second to register its death.
Also, when there are lots of items (like inside the armory with many bullets), the game seems to lag a bit as well; felt jittery as I was loading the gun.
And my god, the voice acting is bad.
I honestly think you should just remove it.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tmy partner has been playing both ITR games for a while now, so I already heard good things about these games. recently we were lucky to get the Steam Frame early so we've been playing ITR2 together, and it's been an absolute blast! we haven't encountered any major bugs or performance issues, and everything seems to work well with the Steam Frame. the customization of your weapons and gear is insane, you can really make whatever loadout you prefer and change it up any time. I'm not as "vr-savvy" as other players, but I find this game insanely fun, tense, and immersive.
I want to talk about the location and environment. a part of the development team are Estonian, and the game takes place in Estonia. as an Estonian myself, I recognize the many little things that truly makes me believe that the areas are in Estonia.
Kalasaare sounds like a typical name for a place, and it basically means Fish Island. while I don't think it's an actual island, there are boats and bodies of water around, and Lauri talks about going fishing, so it seems to be a place where a lot of fishing took place. imo quite immersive still.
MANY houses feel like buildings typical Estonian grandparents would live in even to this day. there are lots of interactable and static objects that are Russian/Soviet, but stuff my own grandmas still have. from old (real life) books, clutter like cups, plates, and teapots, to old stoves that need to be lit with real fire undearneath. after dealing with nearby enemies, I've been giving my Dutch partner a "tour" of houses I've never been in before, and yet know so much about, just because how these places are all inspired by real life old Soviet Estonian buildings and items. I could go to my grandmas house right now and pick up pretty much the same cups or jars. if I asked my mom, she'd probably find some old toys my brother and I used to play with that exist in the game. I've never been this immersed in any other game.
does this matter? to most people, not really. you can make places feel old and abandoned in many different ways and still be immersive. none of this is noticed by anyone who isn't Estonian or even Baltic. but I noticed. to me, this makes the game feel strangely comforting, and it reminds me of my grandparents. it feels special, and I can see the effort of the devs designing the objects, houses, gardens, environments, etc. I think about this game a lot.
I can't really put into words what this means to me, it's an indescribable feeling. but I can say, good job to the devs, and thank you for putting so much care into the world of this game. it matters to me a lot.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tI do understand some of the community sentiment surrounding this game. ITR1 had features that this game does not, but also ITR2 has noticeably more features than ITR1.
The weapon customization, improved hideout, addition of voiced dialog, new enemy variety and better looks for them, anomalies are a lot more varied/visually distinct, and I could keep listing them but you get the point.

Don't get me wrong - this is BY FAR THE BEST vr game out there. Should you wait for a sale? No. It's worth more than full price.
The problem is: The first two hours are by far the weakest. The tutorial blablas at you, you cannot skip or speed up anything, etc. Coming from Radius1, I was really sad that some features that I loved are gone (ouchie grass, open fields, shade enemies, cleaning barrels, colored lights, ...). But again - this is the best vr game out there. And not just because the vr market is kinda bad, but because it is genuinely good.
- It looks gorgeous. Not at first glance, maybe, but once you camped on some roof to see the sunset, you'll know what I mean.
- It's super immersive. The day-night-cycle, picking up single bullets into you guns, cleaning them, the equipment system that lets you put flashlights all over your body like a christmas tree, etc etc.
- It's not janky. At least, considering all the details on the weapons and your equipment. And compared to any other VR game.
- It's actually fun. For hours. It's not one of those vr 'games' that simulate something and that's it. It's a true game where you naturally find better weapon parts, explore new places, find new enemies and are actually interested how it continues.
- It's not handholding you. It pretty much drops you into the world and let's you do your thing and play at your own pace. You know, except for the terrible new tutorial that handholds you so hard, it tries to crush your knuckles. q.q

I was in that new in-between sector for unlocking the next area, the forest I presume. I managed to get the the end. light the last lantern and then proceeded to die second later from one of those broken statue enemies, it counted as completing that area, can't go back.. completely lost all my stuff, mission related and backpack. I try to terminate the top priority mission that involved carrying that sensor into the next area, the top priority mission is just gone... completely bricked my ability to continue the game. How did they not account for this in any way... loosing all my stuff permanately is one thing, but the top priority mission being gone.. they need to fix that IMMEDIATELY. Love playing this game throughout it's early stages, it's always been buggy mess, part of the experience of course. But not sure if I can reccomend playing it with game breaking bugs at the moment.
On another note, please tell me they plan to add an easier way to access the next areas (unless there is later on?) that does not involve one of the, arguebly most annoying and fustrating areas to pass, being those bridges full of traps on the first map. Not really a fun experience just to go back and forth. Also very frustrating, I cannot be the only one.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

The surreal landscapes and merciless enemies really make this game special. - crackers box won't open
- some tutorial captions that hover over the bench stations can lost hand laser, and unable to press next/continue (i think workaround with rebooting controllers is help)
- other npc's voice can disrupt dialog of Laurie - only captions are visible that going on.
Some minor recommendation for devs (i guess for the ITR3):
- add hand trimming option(current angle is off comparing with steam vr laser angle)
- extend hand palming logic - if you have two mags in palm, allow us to choose which mag to holster/drop first: depressing hold - first mag, trigger - second
- allow to unload split shotgun (izh)
- too much repetitive missions with tri-pods and radio transmitters, that have no reward in returns... if you get some intel give some narrative story behind that... maybe ability to see enemies on the tablet during night, or unique non-mission artifacts locatoin or just phone calls that reveals some details on anomalies or enemies, that will help player.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThe game is awesome, there's so much stuff to do, all weapons feel, look and sound great, weapon and equipment customization is awesome, the flares are nice, both main and side quests are interesting and engaging, combat is very deep with lots of opportunities and different approaches, Pecho is super cute and I never leave without a plushie on my back, Co-Op is totally awesome, especially now that we have a walkie-talkie so you can split roles, play as a sniper, split between objectives or have a buddy watching your back while you're taking measurements in a distortion zone. Blowing up mimics around corners or accidentally screwing up hand grenade throws while trying to do so never gets old. One of my favourite VR games to ever exist and is absolutely worth the price, the main reason I bought a VR headset in the first place.
...but I still miss the old Radius. And I'm not talking about ITR1, I miss ITR2 betas. That main menu music (currently replaced with a basic ambient track), the world building, altered items (currently used as artifacts) feeling like unnatural creations from everyday objects rather than just blinking regular items, actual artifacts feeling even more unnatural, like something cosmic that is completely out of this world. I remember making notes of item weight and cost to prioritize certain more valuable items.
I miss portals sending you to a defined spot so I can note the destination and use it to my advantage like I am trying to live along with the Radius rather than mindlessly fighting it, it made interacting with the world so much more interesting, but now they're just slot machines that send you to a random location every time and can even throw you into the distortion zone when you expect it the least.
Distortion-proof headgear was my favourite part of equipment as it opened up so much possibilities, shortcuts and previously inaccessible portals while bringing the sense of pressure and danger, but now distortion zones feel more like an annoyance that makes me and a friend of mine go "aw damn it" each time one of us has to look for that damn distortion sensor while dodging ten thousand ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dandelions, the most annoying anomaly in the game rivaled only by the electric field (not to be confused with the static field). Although now that we have to do measurements ourselves instead of just picking up a scanner is fun.
Old shelters that looked like they're actually built by someone trying to live in the Radius instead of being unaltered places that feel great too, but give me a very different feeling.
That feeling of loneliness while you're surrounded by nobody but mimics (I miss old mimic voices too), fragments who punch harder than Mike Tyson, ghost of John Radius, cute little creep hunters you always want to pet for some reason and Dylan the Sky Cube (now known as The Cube) is now being somewhat broken by Lauri constantly telling you how bad evil your employers are. The little mouse is the best character of the game right now who I am always happy to see.
I loved how in betas weapons were balanced around their calibre and their mechanics instead of just do more damage or fire faster, but now for an unknown reason some weapons like IZh-27 do significantly less damage than higher tier weapons like Benelli M2 or Saiga-12 that use the same 12 gauge rounds. Why?
I made suggestions in Steam discussions about bringing back old world building elements like portals, items and artifacts, although the attempts gave no results. The game is still one of my most beloved VR games I am always happy to go back to, but I just wish I could at least some times go into THE Radius, that oddly warm curious old altered world I miss so much... :'(\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
