The server problems need attention, Expertise is a serious grind, and I’d love to see the apparel return more towards the tactical identity of The Division. Considering I now own the Ultimate Edition on PlayStation, Xbox, Ubisoft Connect and Steam, I think that sums up how much I enjoy the game. I wouldn’t have bought it four times otherwise. I’ve put a lot of time into Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 over the years, and it’s still one of those games I keep coming back to. I’ve ended up owning the Ultimate Edition on PlayStation, Xbox, Ubisoft Connect and now Steam, so I think it’s fair to say I’ve had my money’s worth out of this game. There’s always something to work towards, whether it’s improving a build, hunting for better gear, completing seasonal content or jumping into missions with other players. It has its problems, and some of them have been around for far too long, but the amount of content and continued support keeps me playing. Pros
- There’s a huge amount to do. Missions, control points, bounties, raids, incursions, seasonal activities, builds, projects, the Dark Zone and plenty more.
- The DLC and expansions have added some great content over the years and give you even more areas and activities to play through.
- A lot of new content comes through free updates, which is always appreciated.
- You get a massive amount of playtime out of the game. It’s easy to put hundreds, or even thousands, of hours into it if you enjoy grinding for gear and experimenting with builds.
- It rarely feels like you’ve completely run out of things to do. There’s usually another build to try, piece of gear to chase or activity to complete.
- The game still receives regular updates years after release, which is impressive for a game of its age.
- There’s fresh content and activities coming through regularly, including weekly resets which give you another reason to jump back in.
- Season Pass rewards are generally good and give you plenty to work towards throughout a season.
- The SHD Watch progression system gives you another long-term goal after reaching the endgame and lets you continue improving your character.
- Playing with other people is where The Division 2 shines. Running difficult content with a good group and putting different builds together is still some of the most fun I’ve had with the game.
Cons
- The servers are easily one of my biggest complaints. Delta errors and random disconnects still happen far too often. Getting kicked in the middle of an activity because of a Delta screen gets old fast.
- Getting to Expertise 30 is a grind and a half. It takes a huge amount of resources, gear and time, and there are moments where you start wondering if the amount of effort is worth the upgrades.
- Some of the apparel feels completely out of place. The Division has a strong tactical, post-crisis style, and some outfits don't fit that theme at all. I’d personally like to see more tactical, military, SHD and faction-inspired apparel.
Overall
Despite the problems, The Division 2 is still one of my favourite looter shooters. There’s a ridiculous amount of content, loads of different builds to experiment with and enough progression systems to keep you busy for hundreds of hours. \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThe grind for good gear is atrocious, the grind to upgrade good gear is worse, and the amount of advanced darkness in open spaces where the only light you have is the light on your shoulder is horrendous. Not to mention how unfair it is to have Kill Squads in retaliations doing so much damage they can very easily melt your health faster than a piece of paper in close proximity to the sun is the absolute worst. This game has had way too much time to work towards incorporating cross-play and is only just NOW releasing it, too. For people that only like to play looter shooters with friends, most of which they don't get to interact with a lot because of the lack of cross-platform games, this game is extremely punishing for them and solo players. Retaliations are a scam and they're the worst piece of content this game has to offer considering even at the highest and second-highest difficulties, there's only about a 50% and 35% chance for an exotic drop upon completion, a worse rate for defeating kill squads (which can apparently swiss cheese you from across the map), and you can neither focus progress towards proccing a specific faction without going way out of your way to do so and the loot pools for specific exotics you might be hunting down are way too immense to even have a chance target what you're looking for with absolutely no leniency system.
On top of that, enemy pathing and behavior in a timed mission or objective string is attrocious, the bugs are immense and always headbutt you harder than Mike Tyson like their dev and QA teams don't even test updates before release to make sure the game is even enjoyably playable. The grind for any amount of joy and enjoyment, let alone progress towards seasonal events feels like a third job. Not a second job, like some looter shooters out there. A third job. A soul-sucking experience worse than Dark Souls and Tarkov. Then there's seasonal modifiers and the grind to complete the objectives to unlock your own personal modifiers that "even" the playing field. Lately, the cons have heavily outweighed the pros of these and the modifiers on the enemies often make the game significantly less enjoyable to play, which is already a crazy feat to begin with.
This game plays like an MMO with easy to navigate menus and easily accessible matchmaking, but the menus are awful, hard to navigate, and the matchmaking and buttons for navigation are very out of the way or overlap in a way that makes actually doing anything more irritating that the kill squads in retaliations.
Don't even get me started on the Dark Zones. 99% of the time, they are not even worth it.

\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tPretty fun game normally stuff like this wouldn't entertain me but it does a good job of making you feel good when you play the game just the gameplay the overall shooter feelings and the loot just makes you feel urghh addicted to the loop, granted i almost got to level 40 in the first 35 hours of playing [however i was level 27 and i was using my old xbox account to play on steam] theres a lot to do in this game and i could not stress it more that this is cheap as hell and just try it out

Then the game finally loaded in, tried adjusting the settings and is apparently impossible to map button layout to controller, then created character and loaded the first mission, and the controller layout was completely backwards and not intuitive. Quit the game and uninstalled. Not gonna fight Steam over a 3 dollar digital travesty.
