It does have some quirks that make it feel aged and buggy, but with more updates to come hopefully that can be fixed there's so much to do, so many play styles and maps and modes. unfortunately it is DLC heavy, but if you do get them, its a lot better. I wish they'd just add buck the removed DLC it was some of the best DLC in the game, nothing horribly game changing but still very unfortunate. The community is great, most media struggles to be relevant because of a bad community but Payday has had a strong fan base for a LONG while and because of that its become the titan it is now even fully supporting payday 3 for its mistakes. It amazes me just how long this game is still kicking, with more care and effort put into this game it can be the literal perfect game ever. Maybe I'm too enthusiastic, I'm sure others can say more about it in greater detail but i like to see games for what they are or what they could be with a little effort any game can be a good game with enough effort and care. I hope the original developers come back to work on the game again or to fix the 3rd one its not the same without them.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tPlayed this game for like 900 hours on ps4 and i loved the whole concept and enjoyed most of the heists. now that i got it on pc and starting over i find my feelings about this game have only changed in that i love it more since i can finally play the dlc heists i never could on console. the gameplay is smoother than ever and i for the most part and i have had few issues in the game.

- Great soundtrack made by really good compositors, almost every song is great with little to no exceptions
- Nice variety of weapons to choose from as well as a really good customization options catering to each players specific playstyle
- Really fun heists with different variety and randomness attached to each of them some more than others but overall a great set of cool scenarios.
- A vast variety of character and perk customization, many of the perks of the game can make different playstyles specially if you use different perk decks which almost every one of them is well "balanced".
- It runs really ok on any modern machine so no worries on that end.
Cons
- Really bad DLC, well where to begin with this, almost every cool heist aside from the some of the ones from payday the heist are payed DLC which in some cases are not really expensive but charging almost 100 dollars to get a game to its full potential is kinda scummy considering the age of the game.
- Visuals are really outdated by 2026 standards, nothing better to expect from a game made in a racing engine from 2001....
- H3h3 DLC pack...
- If you really liked payday the heist atmosphere, it really got lost in this game, many of the new characters really don't fit with the last game. Some are completely an insult to the game itself. (AKA h3h3 dlc pack), many of the customization options are great but kinda ruined the aesthetic of a Heat inspired game. The seriousness and coolness of the last game is completely lost. Some collabs are ok in my book, such as point break, hotline miami, john wick etc.. but some of the others really don't fit in. (More of a personal problem)
- Really buggy AI. At the beginning of this game it was worse but with new patches made by modders not by overkill many of the bugs and problems with the AI such as enemies and bot teammates were improved.
- Really hard achievement list, if you are a completionist don't waste your time in this game if you plan to play by yourself or don't have any dlc or friends.
- Difficulty spike, The game itself its fun in loud until death sentence, that difficulty is not even fun it forces you to play in a specific playstyle that is viable. They have been tweaking this difficulty since it came out and it never managed to be fixed or balanced. If you enjoy losing hair or fighting in open maps where enemies do 100% damage from 1km Go ahead and play in that otherwise every other difficulty is fun and challenging in other ways.
Despite its flaws, I still think PAYDAY 2 is a fantastic game and one I highly recommend, especially if you can grab the Legacy Collection on sale.
What really disappoints me is its legacy. After years of supporting the game and buying countless DLCs, I expected that investment to lead to a worthy PAYDAY 3. Despite its flaws, I still think PAYDAY 2 is a fantastic game and one I highly recommend, especially if you can grab the Legacy Collection on sale.
What really disappoints me is its legacy. After years of supporting the game and buying countless DLCs, I expected that investment to lead to a worthy PAYDAY 3. Sadly, it feels like the developers failed to deliver the sequel the community deserved. Even so, PAYDAY 2 remains one of the best co-op heist games ever made.

PAYDAY 2 is one of the most frustrating games I've ever played, not because the core gameplay is bad, but because it's buried under years of bugs, broken mechanics, and technical issues that never seem to truly disappear. It's honestly impressive how a game that's been updated for over a decade can still feel like it's held together with duct tape.
The biggest problem is how inconsistent everything is. One heist will go perfectly, and the next will completely fall apart because of a random bug. Guards randomly detect you through walls, objectives refuse to update, AI teammates get stuck doing absolutely nothing, civilians behave unpredictably, and sometimes bags or interaction prompts simply stop working. Instead of feeling like you failed because of your own mistakes, it often feels like the game decided it was your turn to lose.
Multiplayer is somehow even worse. Since this game relies so heavily on cooperative play, you'd expect the online experience to be solid. Instead, you constantly deal with desync, failed lobby connections, players getting disconnected near the end of long heists, and bizarre synchronization issues where different players literally see different things happening. I'm still sad they didn't let Notoriety keep RO Bank, though I was able to understand GO bank a bit off my past experience in that one.
I was able to understand Art Gallery and some other maps because of my experience in that Roblox Game. So much fun!
I do miss the corpse drag/carry feature available in Hitman (drag) and Notoriety (carry) but it is an old game after all.
I also wish that we could move enforcer hostages.
And move more than one hostage at a time.
And give our Bot Crewmates orders that wouldn't let them auto unorder as much as they do in current.
Like "Guard the Hostages" (Prevents moving away from the hostages even when you get far away.)
Or "Be my Bodyguard" (Makes him stick closer to you and auto follow from stop moving either has a narrower margin or is prevented.)
Or "At your leisure" (Default Order).
Though I understand why these won't be added to the game.

However, I decided to pick it back up again after seeing that it was still getting good updates ranging from QOL improvements to new content even after Payday 3 released. After coming back and playing again its been a blast to play. The gameplay is addicting, the soundtrack is great, and the characters are funny and interesting. Something worth noting is that Starbreeze hired a group of modders to provide the game with more updates which I am in full support of that decision. Overall, if your looking for a game with similarities to Left 4 Dead then look no further than Payday 2.\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t
